RE: Perverted Sugar Daddy System-Chapter 432: One Last Thing
"You’re giving me a mess?"
"You have Nadia and Grace, I’m sure you can work things out."
"Nicholas wants our head."
"Ehhh, don’t think too much about it, he’ll come around."
"What’s that supposed to mean?
The people I sent over say they feel like they’ll be shot at anytime during the negotiations."
Considering the number of armed guards that flocked Nicholas’s mansion, a complaint about the fear of getting shot convinced me that real work was being done.
It had been two days since I last saw the man, leaving his abode with Nadia and later receiving Wanda.
With the real hurdle worked past, I had handed Martha the rest of the work, but clearly Nicholas wasn’t making things easy for the woman.
"Nicholas and I have reached an agreement of sorts, now it’s just a matter of results."
"What agreement?" Martha questioned, suspicion dripping from her tone.
"Let’s say that irrespective of how things turn out, he’s going to remain the topmost regional power.
We won’t interfere in his claim."
"Don’t tell me you’re handing over your voting shares."
"No, but under certain terms, I’m making him a trust to 32% of what I’ll get.
We’ll go over the terms tonight."
"....."
"Ehhh, hello?" I called when Martha went silent.
"It took us nearly 3 billion to infiltrate the venture and get those shares, and now you want to throw it all away.
With that many shares, he has a leeway to hash up a lot of schemes. Schemes against us."
"I understand, but we have to appease him.
The community in Texas can be really hard to get into.
We need an entry, and if we can successfully get Nicholas, then even spending 5 billion is worth it."
It wasn’t like Martha didn’t understand what I was saying, or the reason we needed Nicholas, but questions had to be asked.
Since I had brought up the idea, I had to defend it.
"Sophie is from Texas. Any plans to use her to imprint yourself on the region?"
"Nope. She wants to dabble in beats and pitches. Unless she blows up, I don’t see a way for her to exert any influence.
You’re still worried about Nicholas being at the forefront."
"Yes. You are talking of us living in the tiger’s den while it’s still alive and roaming within."
"I’ve never seen a tiger eat a dragon.
If Nicholas falls too out of line, I’ll send him to meet his grandfather."
"Is that why you pamper those two old men so much, letting them keep a chunk of their profits?
They are your plan B if Nicholas becomes a headache."
"Yes."
"Look how much they fumbled on their own, they can’t fill the vacuum if Nicholas falls."
"I don’t need them to. I need them to be rather sellers.
If Nicholas goes, the biggest share of the cake will rest with the venture.
Trying to hold onto them will be like a lion stepping into a forest of tigers.
The smart thing to do will be to sell the cake before it’s seized, sell it to a good tiger."
"I see."
"As much as we want the money, what we are truly after is power.
California, New York, Texas, we need to have a major slice of the pie in these states."
"New York!!"
My words derailed Martha.
"You’re going after Wall Street?"
"What do you think the hedge fund is for."
"Marcus, Wall Street is a whole different beast.
I don’t think we have the resources to open a battlefront in New York.
Numbers move and people see it."
"Let them.
We are flush with cash. It’s an opportunity for us to gobble some unfortunates."
"You do remember that cash was paid to you as collateral damage, right?"
"Yes.
Are you worried we’ll ruffle some feathers we shouldn’t?"
"Very worried, sir." 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
"I’ll keep that in mind.
I’ll be back in LA next week, fly and come meet me."
"You’re avoiding Michigan."
"Anytime I go there, some misfortune meets me, it’s the den of my enemies.
I’m considering relocating you back to New York. You could administer Michigan from there."
"I don’t think that’s a good idea, sir.
I’ve come across some information that suggests we put a hold on our other conquests and focus on this state."
"Your words rank among the last things I want to hear," I honestly communicated, my tone dropping.
"Sorry for that, sir, but this can’t be avoided."
Martha and I conversed on a few more topics and then I ended the call. The woman did leave me with a suggestion though.
"Just because you aren’t sinking your claws into the powers of the state does not mean you shouldn’t do anything for the community."
"Nadia, when is my presentation at the police headquarters?" I asked, stepping out of my room, my gaze falling on my PA who had been waiting for me in the living room.
I didn’t stay in Galveston. With Wanda and Nadia, I made my way to Houston, booked a lavish suite, and rested my back.
"4th of next month, sir, next week." Nadia answered, standing and turning to me. She had a book clasped in her hands, so there was a chance she had been reading.
"How time flies.
For now, we are done with the issue of Nicholas, but before we leave, Martha suggested we make some acquaintances, carry out some service in the community..."
I wanted to speak some more, direct Nadia on what kind of service I was looking to indulge in, but despite her scowl, her eyes lightened up.
"You have information on this."
Nadia, seeing that I had picked up on her excitement, tightened her face even harder. I had a feeling she berated herself for not holding stronger, and then she gave a tight reply.
"Will you be engaging in this service yourself, sir."
"Yes."
"Then I have a suggestion.
I have been thinking about our dealings here in Texas and doing my research have concluded on some routes we could follow.
Before I bore you with my list though, I want to introduce you to the most important item on it, Alice Gobberman,"
