RE: Perverted Sugar Daddy System-Chapter 421: Four Things
Nicholas Sawut was a tall, undeniably handsome man. Despite his age, he still retained an incredible hairline, his grey hair strengthened his visage, and to boot, he kept himself in shape.
He had nothing like a chiselled chest or bulging biceps, but just the fact that his stomach fat was on the low end was already a major victory.
My words got the sketchy billionaire to turn to me, and he went straight to the point, not hiding his tolerance of me.
"What do you want?"
"My assistant should have already briefed you on my goals."
"She hasn’t."
"You haven’t," I looked away from the man to the woman beside him.
While Nicholas was in his swimming trunks, through her moment of captivity with the man, Nadia had managed to keep on most of her clothes.
For today, she dressed in a black suit, the left side of her skirt cut to reveal some skin. It was what she had on when I last saw her.
At the moment, while she still had her skirt, she was now wearing a black tight top, a black coat definitely missing.
Nadia’s eyes fell as I turned in her direction, the woman quickly informing me what she thought of my approach, and then she quickly got to her feet and with her head slightly lowered, answered,
"I had, Sir. Mr Sawut and I were still getting into the details." 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"Really? With the way you were blushing, my mind couldn’t help but stray to some questionable areas."
"We did stray, but the main topic was always at hand..."
"Spit it out, what do you want, Mr Lawson?"
Nicholas’s words were sudden and unexpected, and as I stared at him, he reached for the glass on the table to his left.
His face was turned; from the corners of his lips, I spotted a frown, my brain immediately attributing it to Nadia’s quick and total deference to me.
"Nothing much, Nicholas," I started, having to stop and turn as a huge body walked to my back, Junta’s huge shadow swallowing up mine.
Having to turn and look up to see the man’s face, his menacing rifle in his grip, made the intimidation attempt a lot heavier.
Any normal man in my situation would have gulped and warned themselves they were walking on thin edge.
"I’m running a hedge fund, Nicholas. I want you to trust me with your money, lots of it, and not just that.
Chip in some of your oil fields too."
My words were not professional, and secondly, they were ridiculous.
Pfffft!!
Nicholas’s drink went flying out of his mouth, most of it dropping into the pool, and I was dismayed because I had actually been considering having a swim.
"Does this look like a circus, Mr Lawson?"
Nicholas might have been taken off guard by my words, but he immediately regained his cool and, keeping his glass, sat up, locked his fingers together, and slowly turned and addressed me.
"No, sir," I answered promptly, my expression solemn.
"Good. So now listen carefully."
"I’ll invest 5 million dollars in your company, whatever returns and rules you want to give me, and in exchange, you’ll give me the name of your informer, the mole you have in my mansion, and also, I’ll be keeping your PA."
"Slavery was abolished in 1864, Nicholas," I said, my attentive stance immediately collapsing, the encompassing shadow behind me not a bother as I strolled forward.
"Whether Nadia wants to work for you or not is up to her. I have no contract binding her to my service," I said, taking a seat where Nadia had previously sat.
"That aside, I want to make sure we are on the same page on some things.
First, I am a billionaire. It’s cringe that I have to say that, but sharing knowledge has always been touted as honourable, so I think I’m good.
Second, use your head to think. How many entities do you know with 20 billion dollars in liquidity? How many of them do you know that can transfer that sum of money?
Surely you don’t believe the central bank is so generous.
Third, I won’t be telling you anything about the mole in here, and there is nothing you can do about it.
You could always fire all your staff and hire new ones. I mean, it could be anybody, from the gardener to your lawyer to even Jim.
Fourth. Do you see any red on my nose, Nicholas?
I meant what I said about wanting you to invest. If SAWOIL remains under your strict control, it will crash to the ground and be a memory of the past in the next ten years.
This isn’t a threat, it’s a fact."
Seconds passed, Nicholas going into contemplation, a minute coming upon us, and at the start of the next, Nicholas looked at me, who was busy with a filled glass.
"What do you mean by it’s a fact?"
I was impressed by Nicholas’s ability to set his priorities straight, and at the same time disappointed that the man was not a self-centred egoist.
"Hmm, for starters, what has competition been up to?
Haliburton, Stanolind, Devon Energy, Helmerich and Payne, what have they all been up to?"
It wasn’t that I had gotten Nicholas on my side, subdued him, or convinced him of my legitimacy, but the man was cautious of his money, a lion ready to protect his pride.
"There haven’t been any rash movements. With the tech chaos happening all around, the oil business has been steadily booming.
Everyone is getting a piece, so there’s relative peace. No one wants to shake the table and risk collapse."
"No one, or just you, Nicholas?"
"Get to the point, Mr Lawson."
"I will, but I want to confirm, other than these general data, do you have no detailed information on the movements of your competitors?"
Nicholas kept silent, and silently I waved to Nadia.
There was definitely more the old man knew, but whether it was connected to the issue I was about to present was a serious doubt.
If Nicholas had been aware of the incoming danger and yet still failed to keep his company afloat in my past life, then perhaps I was following the wrong strategy.
