Re-Birth Of A Genius. Creator/Destroyer-Chapter 2136 Second Labor
The whole point of establishing the hub is to disrupt the academy realm.
The best way for doing that is to undermine the authority of the Academies. That day, with Icarus' threat, Sam showed exactly that. The Dean of the Zeus Academy, one of the most powerful people in the Academy realm had to back down.
Sam is sure that most people would notice this and the Hub is bound to face some friction. However, it is too early for the hub to receive that much heat. He needs to create some sort of distraction. Even if the upper echelons want to focus on Hub, they should have their handful with other things.
They shouldn't have any time to deal with the Hub.
Luckily, he already started the plan. The puppet that he gave away to Raios and the three puppets that attacked him are part of that plan. He is sure that someone must have noticed that battle. Even if they didn't, he is planning on giving out the recorded video of the battle and spread the information.
Also, the words left behind by the three puppets. Like the gravity faction and other stuff. It is all clearly made up by Sam, but the other parties don't know this.
In their eyes, this is an unknown variable and Sam has to find a way to amplify it even more. Add in some chaos and instability among the students, things should be safe for some time.
"Philip, how is Joran's shipment coming along?"
"We are ready to send the first batch."
"Including the weapons?"
"Yes."
"Tell him to peddle them all in the Thalassa region. I want to see the results in the next week."
Sam discussed a few more details and went out. He has a meeting scheduled with the Dean of a different Academy. It is going to be his second quest. The second labor in the twelve.
He went to the Artemis Academy to receive the quest.
By the time he arrived there, the Dean was busy in a meeting. Sam kind of expected this. There are some people in the Artemis academy that got a bunch of good rewards in the pocket dimension. He was the one that gave them deliberately.
The Dean sent the labor in a scroll through an Elder.
Sam read it and nodded.
"Much easier."
He muttered and walked out of the Academy, he contacted Icarus.
"I need your help with something for my next labor. I don't have much information about the region that I have to go to. Can you help me out?"
That is all he asked.
"Of course, tell me what you need."
"Meet me in the secret room."
Just like that, Sam had to go back to the secret room once again.
He handed the scroll over to Icarus who read it and appeared surprised.
"Really? This is the task given to you? How did they even think of such an absurd task?"
"I don't know."
The surprise is not because of the task is difficult with traps, rather it is completely opposite. The task didn't have any holes. Sam even skimmed through Hub's records to see if he could find any anamoly. But there is none.
Before he went into the pocket dimensions, there was no discussion of any trap regarding Sam's second labor.
And during the pocket dimensions, if they discussed, Sam should have gotten a recording of it from Hub. There is nothing of that sorts. That means, this is definitely a proper labor.
The task is for Sam to eliminate some beasts that are targeting the Golden Hinds.
The Golden Hinds are the sacred beasts beloved by Artemis and even though they are rare in a general sense, in the lands and territories blessed by her, they are still findable in some specific territories.
And of course, these are the descendants of the Original Golden Hind and much less powerful.
However, they do hold a lot of powers and characteristics similar to the original one and that makes them a good target for other beasts on the same level. They provide a good nourishment.
And right now, in one of the territories that are ruled by Artemis's followers, the golden hinds are being hunted by a beast called the Blood Yena.
They are hyena like creatures that feast on flesh and blood of the creatures. Of course, one might say,a all the carnivorous beasts do it, however these things consume the prey while keeping it alive. They can only enjoy the flesh while the prey has its peak vitality.
And that makes the death a torturous endeavor for these creatures.
Sam's job is to protect these golden hinds from the pack of Blood Yena.
And the area assigned to him doesn't have any beasts that are too strong. That is why he is a bit confused.
Icarus looked through the tasks and then at some of his own documents.
He finally found what is there.
"It is that time of the year. Now it makes sense."
Icarus muttered and looked at Sam. "You are right, the Dean of Artemis academy really didn't have any thoughts of killing you.
They are only trying to make you miss the next Pocket dimension.
This is the special time of the year and this time Blood Yena from various regions of the planet will migrate in large droves to that place. It is because of the special call of the Yena Alpha that rules over all the Yena of that planet."
"Why does it call the packs?"
"It's the mating season. That is why. The Yena albeit beasts are very intelligent and they have a strong cunning sense for conquest. Basically after the pack reaches a certain strength, the alpha sends its generals to different areas where they mate with similar beasts and produce offspring.
Every year they bring back a part of their pack along with suitable mates. They crossbreed and create variant beasts that go around destroying the ecosystems.
And it just so happens in this planet the Golden Hinds are also very high in number and they are way too good of a nourishment for these Yena.
So, you will have to kill hundreds and hundreds of beasts and they will be coming in waves. You will miss the next pocket dimension for sure."
"Is there a way to deal with this instantly?"
Sam asked.
Icarus nodded with a smile.
"Killing the Alpha. The call stops, the migration stops and the Generals will try to take over and establish their own packs. There would be some infighting.
However, there is just one problem."
"Its strength." Sam said as Icarus paused.
Icarus nodded and said.
"You are right. Its strength. You are not too strong and you wouldn't be able to deal with the Alpha. It is at least Divine Plane Transcendent creature. Middle stage or higher. There is no way you can tackle it.
But as it happens, you have many partners who can easily take care of it."
Sam smiled at this. It is indeed true. A beast of that level is easy for Icarus or Ivar to handle and he is sure that they would be more than willing to do it for him.
However, Sam had a different Idea.
"I don't need you to take care of it like that. I have a different plan. I also want to opt out of the next pocket dimension."
"What's the plan?"
"I will go to that place and observe the Yena. I will protect the Golden Hinds as much as possible and when I need your help, you will get my message. Then I will tell you the rest of my plan."
"Alright. I am here to help you whenever."
Sam talked with his friends again and left the Academy realm. He used to the dimensional drifter and reached his destination.
The planet he entered is full of forests and plains. And it is mostly dominated by the beasts. The territories are divided up by them and there are few settlements of cultivators. Even the few settlements were established by some external forces who are interested in the produce of this planet.
"This is going to be fun."
Sam muttered as he noticed a golden hind nearby.
While Sam is busy here, meanwhile back in the Academy. In the Santan Region. In the vast mountain range that contained hundreds of peaks of various heights. Within a dark and deep valley, there is a small hut overseeing a beautiful waterfall.
There is barely any light and there are few chirpings of little birds.
Outside of the hut, there is a young man sitting on the rock with a metallic bird in his hands. It is the bird puppet given to the students by the Hub.
He had a small instrument in his hands, that resembled a screwdriver. However, it had many functions than just being a screw driver and with one of those functions, he is currently navigating through the complex web of the inscription arrays.
