Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap-Chapter 29: The Private Message Angered Her
Chapter 29 - 29: The Private Message Angered Her
Over the phone, Luke Crowe could sense Lily Turner's displeasure. He didn't want to make this call either, but his boss insisted he do it, and there was a task he had to complete. If he didn't, he wouldn't be allowed to eat for two days.
"Sorry about that, Miss Turner! I forgot to tell you the apartment lock code last time." He felt wronged, okay? It wasn't that he forgot to tell her; he simply didn't know the lock code at all.
"Not needed!"
Upon learning that Luke's call was merely to give her the lock code, Lily replied indifferently with these three words and then hung up without hesitation.
On the other end, Luke, knowing he hadn't completed his task and would have to go hungry for two days, wouldn't let it go at that. He dialed the number again. Lily now knew who the unfamiliar number belonged to. She didn't answer the call and just tossed her phone onto the sofa, letting it ring by itself.
After ringing three times, the phone fell silent again. Lily thought the person on the other end had given up, but before she could catch her breath peacefully, a text message came through.
"Miss Turner! Hello! The apartment lock code is 050423. Our boss said, the place is yours now, so you'd better change the lock code."
Since Lily wasn't answering his calls, Luke resorted to texting her. Regardless of the method, as long as he completed the task assigned by his boss, that was all that mattered.
Lily definitely wouldn't go to Scenic Garden Apartments because that place had a jerk and a bitch. After reading Luke's message, she deleted it without a second thought.
Thinking she could finally have some peace, someone made sure otherwise. As she was about to check the internet on her phone, someone tagged her on social media.
She navigated to the social media screen, and upon seeing who tagged her, she felt awful.
"Lily Turner! How are you feeling now? Feeling great, aren't you?"
Just after she read the first message, the second one came through.
"You should see it clearly by now, shouldn't you? The one Jun loves is me. He never loved you, never!!!"
Jenny York emphasized the word "never" just to infuriate Lily even more. Her tactic worked—Lily was indeed furious, and it took her several deep breaths and quite a while to calm down.
"Yes! Now I see you both clearly. You two are a perfect match—a jerk and a bitch, a match made in heaven!!!"
Lily retorted defiantly, mimicking Jeanne's style of communication by adding three exclamation marks, especially stressing the words "match made in heaven."
"Lily Turner! You're the shameless bitch here. But now even if you want to be shameless, you have no place to do so. Jun has already withdrawn his investment. Let's see what tricks you can pull now."
This time, Jenny sent a voice message instead of a text. After hearing it, Lily's face turned livid with anger. She raised her hand to send a voice rebuttal but suddenly regained her composure just as her thumb hovered over the phone.
The angrier she got, the happier those scumbags would be. She couldn't let them have their way, especially since they weren't worth it. They wanted to make her life difficult, but she was determined not to give in to them.
