Chapter 103: Virtue and Benevolence

Aside from Yasmine and Vritra, all the others must have been affected by the curse already.

"Should I go ahead to see what happened to others?" Vritra wondered, but then he decided to do so later. There was something much more important to do.

Stars appeared in his eyes as he looked at the second corpse of the Myriad creature. He drank some water and stood up, his belly full from eating so much meat.

"Time to get to work..." Vritra rubbed his palms together and then began to drink one mana potion after another as he called out:

"EXTRACT!!"

...

After several minutes of tiresome struggle, Vritra finally managed to obtain an even stronger Soul Wraith, which he named Bobby.

Vritra sat on the ground and felt quite exhausted. Raising such a strong Soul Wraith with his current level was too tough, but it was greatly rewarding.

"Now, let’s see how strong Bobby is compared to Bob."

++++++++++++++++

Race: Ball of Brutality

Name: Bobby

Level: 1011

Vitality: 100%

Field: SPACE

Stats:

Strength: 12,792 Agility: 14,101 Endurance: 17,001 Intelligence: 10,995 Mana: 10,028

++++++++++++++++

"Oh, despite being at the same level, there is quite a difference between their stats. Bobby is much stronger than Bob," Vritra mumbled as he looked at the dark, large ball that was constantly emitting a dark fog.

"Bobby, can you change your size?" Vritra asked, and in the next moment, its size suddenly enlarged and then became very small—nearly the size of a pinky finger.

Even in its small size, the aura it emitted was quite dangerous. Its combat strength didn’t weaken despite the change in size.

After a moment, he decided to give something a try.

[Fourth Dimension Activated.]

Vritra’s body disappeared from space. He walked around Bobby, and the ball that was reaching up to his waist followed his movements, which didn’t surprise him since Vritra already knew it could track him even in his disappearing state.

"Try hitting my hand lightly," Vritra commanded as he extended his right hand. Previously he didn’t dare do this kind of test, since failure meant death, but now he could do so without any care.

Bobby rotated and jumped towards Vritra’s palm at a slow speed, and it just passed through his body. So even this Myriad creature, who had just started to comprehend the attribute of space as its field, could at most sense his presence but couldn’t actually hurt him as long as he stayed in the Fourth Dimension.

"Sigh..." Vritra sighed. He suddenly felt a lot safer. It seemed the skills he obtained from the Divine Sin Wheel couldn’t be countered so easily; it was very great to know that.

He didn’t regret, nor did he want to complain that he had run all over the place even though those creatures wouldn’t have been able to touch him anyway.

He had to be careful against monsters that strong, but it was satisfying to know that his skill worked even against Legion or Myriad creatures.

"So I was never in mortal danger, at least not for a short while. But eventually... once my mana potions ended, I would have been dead. And until then, I would have been trapped here." Vritra spoke, fully satisfied with how things had turned out despite all the difficulties.

He glanced at his status window to see how much he had levelled up after killing two Myriad creatures.

++++++++++++++++

Name: Vritra Arclis

Level: 628 [88%]

Titles: The Cursed Hunter (Level 10)

Class: Dust Lord (Rank: A) [SSS+(?)]

Stats:

Strength: 1647 (+100)

Agility: 1806 (+100)

Endurance: 1366 (+100)

Intelligence: 977 (+100)

Mana: 1365 (+100)

Luck: 60

[Allocation Points: 94]

++++++++++++++++

"Whoa, I have gained over ninety-four levels?!! That’s huge considering how difficult it became to gain even a single level. I had to kill so many demons just to gain each level... well, this just shows how terrifying these two creatures were." Vritra mumbled, but then he began to wonder.

"Where should I invest these allocation points? Previously, I would have just dumped them all into agility, but now intelligence is needed in my skills and it is the lowest currently."

Even Forbidden depends on his intelligence stat. The higher it is, the greater the effect it will show on the opponent. What he didn’t know was that his worry about all this was about to be removed forever.

After slight hesitation, he put all the points into intelligence, making it...

Intelligence: 1,071 (+100)

...

"Alright, that looks nice. Now let’s go and see how everyone else is doing." Vritra spoke, as Bobby disappeared into his shadow.

But just as he was bringing a mana potion out of his inventory, he noticed two new items that had appeared there out of nowhere.

The two Myriad Armors with slight spatial protection, whose level shouldn’t be lower than 1,011.

Vritra pulled one of the armors out and looked at it. Upon gazing at it, nothing seemed special about the armor—it was just an almost transparent full-body suit, or so it seemed.

Without thinking much, Vritra put it over his body. The armor disappeared instantly and felt as if a faint layer of invisible energy had appeared all over his body. It was there but couldn’t be seen or touched.

"Is the armor really there? Is it working fine?" Vritra wondered. He couldn’t feel much change himself, but it was definitely present there.

"Yes, it is working perfectly. It is a spatial kind of armor, so even if it is invisible, it is there. And weapons or armors possessing even slight Field attributes are much better than others at the same level. This will increase your defence by several times.

No one under the Legion or Myriad could hurt you unless they have some very special means, of course." Yasmine spoke. Since the quest got upgraded, the reward’s grade and number had increased as well.

"Oh nice, a good armor." Vritra felt quite satisfied with his harvest already in this tomb. He decided to give the other armor to his mother—that way, he would feel a bit better.

"Let’s go." Finally, he flew back towards the entrance of the second plane, and as he drew closer, he began to hear strange noises from there.

There were screams, battle cries, crying, and much more. Feeling confused, Vritra increased his speed as he soon stopped in front of the utterly chaotic place.

The scene was truly baffling. On his left was the Nine Pact, and on the right was the Golden Moon.

The things Vritra saw truly left him speechless. The people from the Golden Moon were at each other’s necks and even attacking the people from the Nine Pacts. They were cursing loudly and looked as evil as the word goes.

While on the other side, most of the people from the Nine Pacts were on their knees. Some prayed to God, some chanted words of forgiveness and benevolence.

They begged Gods to forgive them for all their sins—even Number One and the other leaders of the Nine Pacts appeared so righteous and virtuous that they looked like pure and good people.

Such that they would never even hurt a fly.

The third leader was especially benevolent and down to earth.
