Raised From The Wild-Chapter 382: Who The Hell Are You?
Leon cast a composed gaze in the direction of General Jones. He kept his hands in the pocket of his protective gear.
"Don’t you have any idea about my identity, General? I am Princess Amaya’s guard. Before that, I trained at the military academy." Leon uttered casually.
General Jones glanced at him and sized him up.
The middle-aged general straightened his back, no longer leaning on the reclined bed, and asked, "Where did you obtain that information? How did you come to know that the list was fake and a setup?"
"If you are the leader of Black Phoenix and you have a list of your members, will you keep the list lying around and risk it being discovered?" Leon threw the question back at him.
"No." General Jones answered decisively.
"Precisely, General. Additionally, If people offended me, I would use any opportunity to get back at them."
General Jones nodded. What a brilliant young mind!
Leon evoked memories of a fellow cadet from the Military Academy. He was a young and courageous individual, known for his daring nature tempered with deliberate recklessness.
The General’s gaze turned gentle as it shifted to Princess Amaya, who was looking at him with bright and clear eyes. For a moment, he thought he was looking at Ibrahim.
"Princess, a bounty was placed to capture Charles Gray, dead or alive." The childish voice of ExZee disrupted General Jones’ reverie.
Princess Amaya has set up ExZee to provide her latest information every hour.
"Mrs. Black placed the bounty. She said that Charles Gray was suspected of harming Defense Minster Black as he was the last person that was with the Minister before he suffered a heart attack and stroke."
"How could that be? Isn’t Charles Gray already engaged to Adelle? Did they consider that maybe he was just kidnapped?" Princess Amaya was upset. She considered Charles Gray as her friend.
"Princess, Charles Gray is a suspect. Yes, he was engaged to Adelle Black. Their engagement took place at the Crystal Hotel two days ago. The guests were taken as hostages in that engagement ceremony ...."
Before ExZee could finish her report, Princess Amaya’s right hand moved and covered the watch, cutting the AI assistant’s voice and putting the watch in sleep mode.
"A very high bounty and bringing him back dead or alive is akin to a shoot-to-kill order. What happened to Charles Gray? Is he a spy planted by the Alliance at the Black Mansion?" Princess Amaya sought General Jones’ eyes and asked earnestly.
General Jones shook his head. "I don’t know whether he was a spy or not. I knew a few members who were deliberately placed by the Alliance, but they were not in South Usturia."
"Why did he disappear? It is very suspicious. I guess he was a spy planted there." Princess Amaya’s voice was soft. She seemed to be talking to herself rather than the people inside the room.
"You seemed to be concerned about Charles Gray, Princess," Leon asked in a gloomy voice, which surprised Amaya.
"Charles Gray is good to me. He helped me a few times, so I can’t help but be good to him, too." Princess Amaya casually replied which displeased Leon even more.
...
At the villa in the most expensive neighborhood in South Uropa, the dark aura emanating from the man in the wheelchair was so suffocating that none of the twelve men standing before him uttered any sound.
His wheelchair was on an elevated platform, but the twelve men were still taller than him because he was sitting down.
He pressed a button on the armrest of his wheelchair, and it suddenly transformed into a straight metal backrest supporting his back, thighs, and legs. He was in a standing posture, and he looked even more formidable and scary. The golden phoenix mask on his face highlighted the fury in his eyes.
"You are all useless. Even up to now, you haven’t found Charles Gray, ? Did you contact any of his friends?" He roared.
"Supreme Leader, we have apprehended his assistant at the university and at the hotel, but they were unable to provide any useful information. Additionally, it appears that he does not have a large circle of friends. There is concern that he may have recovered his memory," one of the twelve individuals, displaying great bravery, responded to the Supreme Leader in a voice filled with anxiety.
The black orbs that peered through the slit of the golden mask appeared even more ominous as his question lingered in the air, "Have you verified whether Marx Skylar has returned to Usturia?"
"There is also no trace of Marx Skylar, Supreme Leader."
The towering man took two steps forward. The twelve men took three steps backward.
"Report on Defense Minister Black’s situation." He commanded.
"His vitals are already stable, but he is still in a coma. The doctor confirmed that it would be a miracle if he woke up." A man still wearing a doctor’s coat replied.
The man in the mask’s voice softened as he inquired, "What about his family?"
"Mrs. Black and Adelle were in the military’s custody along with his mistresses and his sons," the man standing in the middle replied.
"Get Aurora and Adelle out of there. Use legal means to do so. Be sure that no evidence could be found against them. Remember, they knew nothing about Minister Black’s dealings." The man in the phoenix mask had a doting look in his eyes, but it was fleeting and disappeared in a blink.
"For the mistresses, no need to bother about them." He commanded with authority.
"I had seen the report and the infected cases continue to rise. How much have we profited?"
"It is 500 million Uropan Dollars in two days." The man standing on the left answered with confidence. He was Dark Phoenix’s Secretary Of Finance.
"Pressure each country’s officials and tell them that the antiviral drug stock is depleting. They should buy immediately; otherwise, they will suffer the consequences. We should make a lot of money, then we can make our move to take over the world."
