Rabbit Must Die-Chapter 645 - 244: Braised Eel_1
Seeing Qin Shou become completely uninterested as soon as he heard it wasn’t worth watching, everyone was also utterly baffled. In the Demon Clan’s Heavenly Court, where strength is revered above all, when did it become a thing to recognize someone by their face?
However, since Qin Shou didn’t ask further, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. After all, it’s better to keep one’s secrets to themselves, lest they attract karma and die a horrible death.
But Guiche and Mountain Spider were fidgeting nervously. Were they in a hurry to get back to eating?
Qin Shou turned around to see these two creatures with tearful eyes and couldn’t help but shake his head and say, "Stop imagining things. What my sister and I were picky about just now was bamboo worms. Who the hell wants to eat you few freaks? If I really wanted to eat you, I would have just waited to collect your corpses, right?"
Guiche muttered unconsciously, "I thought you wanted something fresh..."
Qin Shou, "Hm? Suddenly I feel like... you have a point."
The moment Guiche heard this, he immediately dropped to his knees and cried out, "Lord Rabbit, I was wrong..."
Qin Shou nodded and said, "Knowing your mistake is good. Alright then, you can just kneel and follow us."
Guiche understood that Qin Shou wasn’t going to eat him, immediately nodded repeatedly, and thus continued on his knees with the main group.
Though they spoke of walking, after a while, Fang Ya waved her hand, and everyone felt the world spinning. When they came to their senses, they had appeared outside of a towering city gate.
Qin Shou looked up carefully and saw that they were outside of Fengdu City!
It was not the southern gate of Fengdu City they were at, but the eastern gate, which Qin Shou had never used before. Evidently, this gate wasn’t used much either; the large doors were left half-open, and the surrounding area was desolately quiet, without a single ghost in sight.
Upon entering the city, Qin Shou then realized that the eastern gate of Fengdu City was actually a range of continuous mountains! It’s just that from other parts of Fengdu City, they were out of view. Or perhaps this area was forbidden territory in itself, said to be within Fengdu City yet isolating itself, not mingling with the outside world.
After crossing several large mountains, Qin Shou saw the Fang’s mansion nestled among them, and only then did he truly understand its geographical location in the literal sense.
Fang Ya led Qin Shou through the gates, but Golden Toad and Mountain Spider dared not enter and were left to wait outside. As they attempted to enter, they immediately sensed a terrifying presence, as if something dreadful existed within the courtyard.
Qin Shou glanced back, then at Fang Ya, realizing that it was Fang Ya’s intention not to let them inside, so he didn’t bother with it.
After Qin Shou had gone, the four of them looked at each other, ultimately not daring to wander off and simply squatted at the doorway.
"Lord Feidan, what are we waiting for here?" asked Mountain Spider.
Feidan answered, "I don’t know."
Mountain Spider then asked Golden Toad, who shook his head and echoed, "I don’t know..."
Mountain Spider remarked, "Then what are we waiting here for? Should we find something to do?"
Upon hearing this, Feidan and Golden Toad simultaneously turned to look at Guiche and said, "Indeed, it’s too boring to just sit here. Let’s find something fun to do."
Mountain Spider eagerly echoed, "Right, right, right... let’s find some fun. I’m so bored... hey, hey, Lord Guiche, what... what are you doing, don’t come over here, I’ll scream, ah!"
Thud, clatter! Bang!
...
At the gate of Fang’s mansion, a drama unfolded as Guiche furiously battered Mountain Spider, while Golden Toad and Lord Feidan watched with great interest, occasionally shouting, "Hit the face, hit the face!"
Just as they were enjoying the thrashing, the mansion’s gate slowly opened, and a face creased with wrinkles peered out, icily saying, "Quiet down! The young lady dislikes noise!"
Upon hearing these words, the four of them nearly exploded. In the Demon Clan’s Heavenly Court, they were not the mightiest, but they certainly were not of mild temperament. When they wanted to do something and someone interfered, it depended on who it was. Thus, all four glared fiercely at Mengpo.
Mengpo swept a cold gaze over them, causing the four to shiver in an instant as they suddenly remembered that this place was not the Demon Clan’s Heavenly Court. It was a place even more terrifying than the Demon Clan’s Heavenly Court. Consequently, the four Demon Lords instantly turned into four deflated eggplants, obediently pairing up and squatting at the door of Fang’s mansion.
Seeing this, Mengpo snorted coldly, closed the grand door, and departed.
"If you bring them back, you must control them. Make sure they do not cause trouble," Fang Ya said as she poured Qin Shou a glass of lemonade, admonishing him.
Qin Shou nodded repeatedly and said, "Don’t worry, sister. I brought them back because I felt it would be a pity if they just died like that. But then again, they are, after all, Golden Immortals..."
Fang Ya said, "That Feidan, he’s a Great Golden Immortal."
Qin Shou was taken aback and exclaimed, "What? Him? A Great Golden Immortal? You must be kidding?"
Qin Shou simply couldn’t associate Feidan, that sleazy old lecher, shameless guy, with a Great Golden Immortal.
Fang Ya said, "There are five great Demon Marshals in the Demon Clan’s Heavenly Court, and he is one of them. Although he’s the weakest, he is indeed a Great Golden Immortal. However, there’s a problem with his cultivation. Although he has the realm of a Great Golden Immortal, he lacks the power of one. That Guiche is half a step to Great Golden Immortal, the Golden Toad is at the Golden Immortal Peak, and Mountain Spider is at Level Nine. Having these folks follow you can be considered quite a reinforcement, but remember, they are from the Demon Clan’s Heavenly Court."
Qin Shou dismissively said, "Demon Clan’s Heavenly Court? Don’t make me laugh, they were almost killed by the Demon Clan’s Heavenly Court... Without me, they would be dead."
Fang Ya smiled faintly but did not argue.
Suddenly, Qin Shou asked, "Sister, is there something wrong with the brains of those in the Demon Clan’s Heavenly Court? They have so many powerful fighters, yet they talk of killing them like it’s nothing. What a waste to kill them."
Fang Ya shook her head and said, "To them, to the Demon Clan’s Heavenly Court, death is not really death. If they could be resurrected once, they could be resurrected a second time. But, resurrection comes at a price."
After saying this, Fang Ya said, "I’m going to cook, we’ll have eel for dinner tonight."
"Alright!" Qin Shou responded.
That evening, wails of anguish rose from Dragon Island...
"Elder, the ninth elder was practicing at sea when abruptly a giant hand descended, snatching him out of thin air. You must seek justice for the ninth elder!" a child servant sobbed while sitting in the great hall of Dragon Island.
The patriarch of the Dragon Clan was a man clad in a green Daoist robe, with a silver mask on his face, besides him lay a massive trunk, its contents unknown.
The eight elders below merely stood with heads bowed and hands lowered, not daring to utter a word, not even having the courage to glance up at the young man... It was evident just how authoritative this person was in Dragon Valley.
"Elder, a treasured daughter of a Dragon Clan elder has been abducted, an unprecedented event since the founding of Dragon Valley. I implore the elder to make a ruling!" a senior clad in black stepped forward and said.
