Quick Transmigration: Underdog Turns out to be Untouchable-Chapter 331: Heavenly Master 38
The interior space of this car is just like the Ghost Car. From the outside, it looks very small, but inside it’s quite spacious, with two rows of sofas and a long coffee table in between, filled with black-and-white snacks and colorful, dark drinks meant for entertaining ghost passengers.
However, Shuangshuang wasn’t focused on these. She was sitting by the window, instructing the driver to follow the route she had just taken. Meanwhile, she opened her Dharma Eye, her eyes glimmering with a golden light as she carefully observed the outside scene, scrutinizing it bit by bit. Soon, she noticed the space ahead exhibiting wave-like ripples, as if wind was brushing across water under her Dharma Eye’s gaze.
"Stop!" Upon discovering this, Shuangshuang immediately called for the ghost driver to stop the car, then swiftly got out. Behind her, Boss Tian, Duan Chenghai, and Duan Chengming hurriedly followed, getting out of the car as well.
After getting out of the car, the three looked at the vast open land in front of them with confusion, unsure why Shuangshuang had stopped there. Shuangshuang had no intention of explaining. She directly pulled out a Breaking Boundary Talisman and affixed it to the air in front of her!
As soon as the talisman paper was applied, the air in front rippled like water, revealing a transparent barrier akin to a glass wall. Under the effect of the Breaking Boundary Talisman, it slowly parted to either side, creating an opening wide enough for two people to enter side-by-side.
Shuangshuang’s eyes lit up—it was indeed a Barrier! This place must be the projection of the theater, projected into the Yin Realm, yet encased in a Barrier, clearly prohibiting other ghosts from entering, forming a miniature world for its own amusement.
Faced with this situation, Shuangshuang felt a little unsure herself. It could be a powerful Ghost King setting a barrier to trap other ghosts for its own fun, or it might be some formidable demon or magical creature! There were too many possibilities for what could create such a setup, and Shuangshuang wouldn’t be able to determine it without investigating inside.
Before entering the barrier, Shuangshuang solemnly looked at Duan Chengming and said, "The situation inside is very strange. You’d better behave yourself. Do not touch anything inside, no matter how normal the food looks; do not eat it. The ghosts inside may appear friendly, but you must not easily converse with them. Remember, you cannot trust ghostly words, nor should you listen too long! If you hear a ghost speaking excessively by your ear, tell me immediately. If you mess around again, you may end up stuck here forever, unable to return to the mortal world."
Duan Chengming, having been reprimanded by Shuangshuang earlier, knew better than to provoke her. Listening to her words, he nodded vigorously like a pecking chicken, too afraid to speak more, fearing that his chatter might prompt the impatient Shuangshuang to silence him again!
Shuangshuang was most concerned about Duan Chengming’s behavior. Despite his nods, she still found it unreliable. Thus, she sternly looked at Duan Chenghai, who seemed dependable, and said, "Keep an eye on your brother once we’re inside!" 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
A blush appeared on Duan Chenghai’s face—out of embarrassment. His brother was in his twenties, yet needed more supervision than a child. Faced with Shuangshuang’s serious gaze, he could only nod and promise, "Don’t worry, Master. I’ll keep a close watch on my brother and won’t let him act out!"
After warning Duan Chengming and getting Duan Chenghai’s promise, Shuangshuang had done her best. She then burned four Yin Talismans to help conceal and mask the signs of life from them, hoping it would make the ghosts ignore their group inside.
Once everything was set, albeit still uneasy about Duan Chengming’s troublesome nature, Shuangshuang took her first step into the barrier, with the three men dutifully following her into it.
As soon as the four entered, the barrier—previously opened by Shuangshuang—slowly and automatically sealed back up, quickly restoring its intact form, without any entities inside detecting the intruders.
Upon entering the barrier, Shuangshuang immediately sensed a familiar aura filling the space—identical to the strange aura she had felt when entering the ancient town, strong yet elusive!
At that time, Shuangshuang couldn’t figure out the source of the aura. Now she realized the main body of this aura was hiding in the Yin Realm, explaining why she couldn’t find it in the mortal world!
As the four walked a short distance within the barrier, ghostly sounds gradually arose ahead, with ghostly figures in long robes and Western suits floating around.
These ghosts chatted and laughed with each other as they floated toward a common destination. Along the way, many ghosts passed by Shuangshuang and her group, with some even phasing through their bodies, yet none detected the living people in their midst.
Having observed ghosts for some time, Boss Tian, Duan Chengming, and Duan Chenghai had become somewhat accustomed to them. Given these ghosts’ elegant attire, except for their floating, they bore a striking resemblance to the living.
Even their forms appeared solid, akin to real human beings, lacking the rumored transparency and ethereality associated with ghosts. With Shuangshuang, the Master, present, the three were not overly fearful. Duan Chengming even casually looked around, though he still remembered Shuangshuang’s warning, refraining from reckless actions!
Following the direction of the floating ghosts, Shuangshuang led the three toward an increasingly bustling theater. The theater’s exterior was immaculate, with flying eaves, intricately carved cornices, and no signs of decay.
Inside the theater, male ghosts dressed as waiters moved around, welcoming others. Whether inside or outside the theater, incoming ghosts walked solidly upon arrival, further enhancing the illusion of humanity!
The four squeezed into the theater amidst the ghostly crowd. Inside, they were surrounded by a fragrant atmosphere, with elegant female ghosts, exquisitely dressed, linking arms with men, chatting and laughing. The theater displayed no trace of ghostly energy, instead creating an illusion of time travel back to an era where opulence and poverty coexisted!
The stage was large, its heavy curtains tightly drawn. Seeing through the ghosts’ invisibility to them, Shuangshuang led the group directly to the edge of the stage.
Soon, musical instruments began to play, and as the music started, the grand curtain slowly opened. A graceful and lingering female voice unfurled a long note. With the voice emerged a beautifully adorned Qingyi Zhengdan, swinging her water sleeves elegantly.
Shuangshuang recognized this Qingyi Zhengdan as the same one she had seen using the Moonlight Shadow Technique in the water basin, who had advised Boss Tian’s son.
The Qingyi Zhengdan sang a few lines before a beautifully dressed Little Flower came onstage following her. This Little Flower turned out to be Boss Tian’s son! Upon seeing his son, Boss Tian couldn’t contain his excitement, stepping forward, eager to pull his son over!
