Pursuing Her Best Friend after Confession Failed-Chapter 247 - 130: 50 Million Copyright Fee, Little Moon’s Kiss of Love (Two in One, Subscription and Monthly Ticket Requested) _4
"Little Moon, I will get you out of there. I promise."
Zhong Tingyue stopped crying. For the first time since she learned this news in high school, a smile of relief appeared on her face.
"Li Yuan, I believe you. I’ll be waiting for that day to come."
Li Yuan didn’t press for details. He could already guess what it would take to rescue Little Moon from the intricate web woven by the unique clan relationships of the Jiangnan region.
"Li Yuan, do you know how desperate I was when I overheard this during a fight between my parents in my first year of high school? I even thought about giving up on myself, about ending it all.
"But I couldn’t bear to leave my mother. She’s such a pitiable woman, and now she only has me. If she lost me, she wouldn’t be able to go on living. So I threw myself into my studies, working to improve my grades, silently accepting his arrangements, and learning music, dance, and piano...
"Thankfully, all my efforts weren’t in vain. After I got to university, I finally met you."
Li Yuan hugged Zhong Tingyue tightly. In that instant, he understood why she had never dated in her past life, turning away every single one of her suitors.
There’s no greater sorrow than a dead heart. Back then, her heart must have already died.
She had become a puppet controlled by her family.
How could a helpless young woman possibly break free from her family’s control, especially when her mother was her Achilles’ heel, holding her back? Even if she could run away, her personality was such that she would likely just silently accept the cruel twists of fate.
Li Yuan offered a comforting smile. "Little Moon, let’s work hard together. In the future, we’ll make them get on their knees and beg us."
Zhong Tingyue met Li Yuan’s gaze, her voice crisp and melodious, like pearls scattering across a jade plate. "Mm-hmm."
She extended a pale, jade-like arm, wrapping it around Li Yuan’s neck and taking the initiative to kiss him...
Li Yuan’s heart hammered in his chest. He picked her up and laid her down beside him, still holding her in his arms as he kissed her passionately...
Time seemed to melt away as they lost themselves in the moment, bathed in the afternoon sun.
As their passion deepened, Li Yuan’s hands began to wander again, caressing Zhong Tingyue’s killer long legs and stirring a heat within him.
"Li Yuan, what are you hiding here? It’s poking me."
Li Yuan’s face flushed, and he stammered, "Little Moon, do you really not know what that is?"
Zhong Tingyue suddenly realized what he meant. Her pretty face flushed a deep crimson as she glared at him and huffed coquettishly, "Senior, you’re doing this on purpose."
Li Yuan found her shyness amusing.
Girls like Zhong Tingyue, Xia Zhijin, and even Bai Weixi, who were all so inexperienced, reacted in the exact same way to these things. That kind of pure shyness is something you only find in girls who’ve never been in a relationship. Once a girl knows too much about sex, or has been... ’awakened,’ that special feeling is gone.
"Heh heh, Little Moon, appetite is human nature," Li Yuan chuckled. "It’s your fault for being so beautiful I can’t help myself."
Zhong Tingyue glared at him and quickly covered her ears.
"Senior, you promised you’d spend the day with me. Does your word still stand?"
Li Yuan grinned. "Of course. Today, I’m all yours. Do whatever you want with me. I can perform for you, or I can even sell my body."
"Pah! Who would want you to sell your body?" Zhong Tingyue let out a playful scoff, then gave Li Yuan a serious look. She ran a hand over his firm abs and said with a giggle, "Though, I wouldn’t mind a performance."
Li Yuan sucked in a sharp breath. Little Moon’s hand seemed to have a magical power, sending a jolt through him.
"Little Moon, how do you want me to perform?"
Zhong Tingyue pursed her lips, trying to hide a smile. "Write me another song."
"I don’t want a sad one like ’Nanshan South.’ I want something sweet."
Of the four girls in his life, it seemed only Xia Zhijin couldn’t sing. The other three were all quite multi-talented.
Little Fish was in a league of her own; with a voice so angelic it was as if God were personally feeding her talent, she could easily become a superstar if she ever debuted. But she had no interest, purely enjoying books and music for their own sake.
Bai Weixi was also a good singer. While far from a professional level, she was outstanding among most girls. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
Zhong Tingyue fell somewhere in between. Her rendition of "Nanshan South" that night had possessed its own unique charm.
Li Yuan ruffled Zhong Tingyue’s hair, then gently pinched her flawless, beautiful cheek. "Little Moon," he asked with a roguish smile, "if I write a song for you, how are you going to thank me?"
Zhong Tingyue playfully slapped his wandering hand away, her eyes curving into crescents as she grinned. "That depends on your performance."
Li Yuan felt a surge of excitement. Gazing at Zhong Tingyue’s ethereal beauty, he couldn’t stop the corners of his lips from turning up in a wicked smile. "And what if I perform well?"
Zhong Tingyue huffed. "Then I might agree to one of your requests, as long as it isn’t too overboard."
"Little Moon, what counts as ’too overboard’?" he pressed.
"You’ll have to guess," she hummed lightly. "I’m not telling you."
Li Yuan chuckled and rubbed her head. His mind was already cycling through classic songs from his past life. Indeed, he knew a few sweet ones that would be perfect.
"Little Moon, let me think on it when I get back, and I’ll write one for you."
Zhong Tingyue’s eyes lit up, bright as a blossoming flower. "Mm-hmm, alright!" she replied cheerfully. "I’ll be waiting for Big Writer Li’s new piece!"
Li Yuan glanced at the time. It was around five in the afternoon.
"Little Moon, want to go somewhere else?"
"Senior, where are you planning to take me?" she asked curiously.
"Where do you want to go?" he countered.
She huffed sweetly. "Senior, don’t you make plans and an itinerary when you ask a girl on a date?"
Li Yuan felt a flush of embarrassment. He really hadn’t thought that far ahead. After all, dating a girl was just about shopping, strolling around, watching a movie, and getting a meal. If the relationship was far enough along, you’d add a trip to the hotel for the all-inclusive package, spend the night tilling the fertile fields, and the mission would be accomplished.
"Um, how about we go shopping for a bit?" he asked tentatively.
He wasn’t keen on shopping. In his past life, his most hated activity was accompanying his girlfriends shopping—any of them. Because shopping meant spending money, which was sheer torment for a man with an empty wallet.
Now things were different. His wallet was full, and he could finally play the part of a big spender.
Li Yuan had expected Zhong Tingyue to agree, but to his surprise, she immediately refused.
"Senior, I don’t really feel like shopping," she said with a giggle. "How about we go see a movie instead?"
"A movie?" Li Yuan was taken aback, a strange sense of absurdity washing over him. Don’t tell me we’re going to watch ’WALL-E’ again? Between my past and present lives, I’ve seen it more than ten times. Just in the last few days, I’ve seen "WALL-E" with both Xia Zhijin and now, potentially, Zhong Tingyue.
Though I’ve seen the movie plenty of times, watching it with a different girlfriend is a completely different experience, I suppose. Besides, a movie theater really is a great place for a date. As long as you pay no attention to the film and keep your hands and mouth busy, it can be quite wonderful.
