Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law-Chapter 631_1
Julia stared at them, her apricot eyes cold. Moving a bit slow, are we?
It wasn't their slowness that angered her, nor their failure to immediately comfort the crying child. Rather, she was incensed by the dissatisfaction in their tone and their discrimination against Jimmy.
Adele had been an unmarried mother, and Jimmy was currently considered an illegitimate child. The status of both mother and son was extremely sensitive. The scars in Adele's heart still lingered; if she witnessed such a scene and heard such words, she would undoubtedly be heartbroken. Julia had said it before: no one could bully her sister-in-law.
A nanny is the person closest to a child during their upbringing. If even they held such a prejudiced attitude, what about other people? Could they be harboring the same mindset? She was now making an example of these nannies to let everyone know that Jimmy, too, was one of the young masters, and no one could neglect him.
"Madam, we know we were wrong. Please, give us one more chance," the nannies pleaded.
The two nannies were on the verge of kneeling before Julia.
"No need to say anything else. We do not need nannies who discriminate against children," Julia said sternly, leaving no room for negotiation.
The two nannies were helpless and dared not say more, acknowledging that they indeed harbored discrimination against Jimmy in their hearts.
Seeing that the nannies hadn't moved, Julia carried Jimmy to the phone. She didn't even pick up the receiver; instead, she pressed the speaker button. She then called Uncle Ying on the internal line, instructing him to come in and escort the two nannies out.
Uncle Ying arrived very quickly. Seeing Madam's rare fury, he didn't dare ask any questions and promptly led the two nannies out of the hall.
Once Uncle Ying had taken the nannies away, Julia turned to the nannies taking care of her own son and ordered, "You must not hold such attitudes either, do you understand?"
The nannies nodded hastily.
Julia instructed one of the nannies caring for her own son to look after Jimmy for the time being. She then decided she would personally find two kind-hearted, good nannies for him.
As soon as she stepped out of the Main House, she saw Glades Horne returning.
Glades had just ascended the front steps and stopped when he saw Julia, who did the same.
"Where are you going?"
Glades only paused briefly before continuing his steps toward Julia. "I just saw the nannies in charge of Jimmy looking dejected as they left with their luggage."
"I fired them," Julia responded.
"Oh," Glades muttered, not pressing for the reason.
"Are you going to hire new nannies now?" Glades asked, changing the subject.
Julia nodded.
"I'll have someone handle it," Glades said, reaching out to take her hand and leading her back inside the house.
"That works, but make sure not to hire nannies like those again. They were discriminating against Jimmy, saying he wasn't a legitimate young master."
"Did you have Uncle Ying pay them their wages?"
"I did."
"That's letting them off easy." As he spoke, Glades had already taken his beloved son from the nanny. Upon seeing his son's tender, rosy face, his own expression softened. He then bent down and planted two light, affectionate kisses on his son's face.
Then he carried his son upstairs.
Whenever he was home, he would always play the role of Dad for a while.
「Time flew by.」
Ivan was nearly two months old now. He slept less than he did in his first month and sometimes even smiled.
He smiled the most when Glades played with him.
As long as Ivan was in his arms, the child usually wouldn't cry. This made the two nannies a bit embarrassed, and they even suggested they should learn from Glades.
After placing his son back in the crib, Glades sat beside it, gently rocking it, making the baby comfortable. Before long, the little guy was rocked to sleep by him.
"Other children cling to their mothers; they favor their mothers, but our son is the opposite," Julia complained, standing next to the crib.
Glades chuckled softly. He stood up, embraced her, and walked toward the large bed, still smiling gently. "That's good, isn't it? You can relax a bit more." He was there for the tough parts, leaving her to enjoy the easier days.
"WAAH WAAH!"
Ivan woke up and cried aloud, his mouth wide open.
"You lie down and rest; I'll handle it," Glades said considerately. He guided her back to the bed so she could continue resting, and then he approached their son.
Watching his tall, strong back, Julia smiled genuinely. It was truly wonderful to have him by her side!
