Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law-Chapter 621 Regret (3)_1
Phoebe Rogers thought frantically. If she were driven to her death by Glades Horne, her son would completely turn against him. Even if they didn’t immediately fall out, her death would leave a shadow of guilt in her son’s heart. Once enough guilt accumulated, it would erupt, and then James Horne would start to oppose Glades Horne. If that happened, she could smile from beyond the grave.
Even in death, she wanted to make the Horne brothers, Glades and James, turn against each other.
What she desired was to incite chaos within the Horne Family!
What she desired was to ensure that the faithless Gian Horne could not enjoy a peaceful old age!
What she desired was to prevent her rival, Mila Anderson, from living a peaceful life!
What she desired was to shatter Glades Horne’s seamless conspiracies, to make him suffer unbearably, because she would take his cherished son down with her to join the Yellow Springs!
「Three days flew by quickly.」
At last, the day when the two young masters turned one month old had arrived.
The weather was exceptionally clear that day, with a cloudless blue sky occasionally brushed by refreshing breezes.
Media outlets from T City had been keeping an eye on the Horne Family and the Emperor hotel since dawn, ready to capture the extravagance of the city’s leading family’s banquet for the two young masters.
The Emperor hotel also closed to the public for the day, dedicating itself entirely to catering to the Horne Family’s event.
All the hotel staff had been bustling about since early morning, preparing for the banquet.
At the Horne residence, Julia finally breathed a sigh of relief.
She could go out now; she could be free.
Dressed in a suitably elegant and noble outfit, she couldn’t wait to leave her room, suddenly feeling as if everything outside was so beautiful.
"Look at you, like a poor girl who’s finally seeing the sun again," Glades chuckled, looking at his beloved wife.
Ivan Horne was being looked after by two nannies.
Descending the stairs to the Courtyard, Julia smiled and answered, "Right now, I truly am seeing the sun once more."
Wrapping his arms around her shoulders, Glades laughed, "There’s still time before we leave for the hotel. Let’s take a walk."
Julia smiled without replying, which of course meant she agreed.
In contrast to Julia Bluen’s relaxed demeanor, Adele Horne felt somewhat uneasy and tense. She thought about her unwed pregnancy and the fact that no one knew who Jimmy’s father was. The gossip about her from outsiders had never stopped. At the banquet, she didn’t know how the guests would view her and her child. By now, she had become indifferent to her own reputation, which had always been poor. However, she didn’t want Jimmy to be subjected to peculiar gazes.
Since sunrise, she had been holding Jimmy in her arms, refusing to let the nanny carry him. She thought, If anyone dares look at my son with a strange gaze, I will immediately throw them out!
Additionally, she felt a sense of restlessness, as if something was about to happen. Unconsciously, her eyes were drawn to the black characters she had nailed to the wall, not knowing how mangled they now appeared.
Noah Reyes had secretly come to T City, unaware that today was his own son’s first-month celebration. Adele Horne, on the other hand, knew that this black-surnamed man—Noah Reyes, whose name she had repeatedly pierced with nails until it resembled a hornet’s nest—was already lurking in T City.
Noah Reyes instructed his men to activate the defense system. The powerful system concealed all his movements, rendering him untraceable, and because of this, he would miss important events once again.
Around ten o’clock in the morning, the Emperor hotel began to bustle. Guests started arriving one after another, and a variety of luxury cars parked in front of the hotel like an exhibition, dazzlingly noticeable. In reality, the Horne Family had invited around three hundred guests, yet over a thousand showed up—the rest being uninvited.
Too many people were trying to get on the good side of the Horne Family. Normally, there was no such opportunity. The wedding of Glades Horne and Julia Bluen had been a closed ceremony, with only relatives of the two families invited. Now, with their son’s first-month celebration, the banquet was the perfect opportunity to curry favor with Glades Horne. Many came uninvited, hoping to gain the Horne Family’s favor in business dealings with the Valence Group.
The hotel’s parking lot, though vast, couldn’t accommodate so many vehicles. This forced the uninvited guests to park their cars along the road in front of the hotel. A long line of cars formed, a spectacular sight that drew the attention and admiration of many passersby.
A black luxury van slowly approached from a distance.
The van stopped at the Emperor hotel.
A man dressed in a black suit stepped out of the vehicle and headed towards the hotel entrance, where he was stopped by a staff member. The staff member politely inquired if he was there for the first-month celebration. The man replied that he was not, adding that his young master wished to dine there.
The staff member immediately explained courteously that the Emperor hotel was not open to the public today, as it had been booked by the Horne Family for the two young masters’ celebration.
After hearing the staff member’s explanation, the man said nothing further and returned to the van. He informed Noah Reyes—who sat in the back seat with a solemn expression, lost in thought—"Young Master, the Emperor hotel is not open to the public today. The Horne Family is holding a first-month celebration for the two young masters here."
Noah Reyes remained silent.
He knew that Glades Horne’s beloved wife had been pregnant, and after so many months, it was indeed time for her to have given birth.
Then there was Glades Horne’s sister, Adele Horne. She was known for her premarital pregnancy and rumored indecent personal life. Yet, she had the audacity to host such a grand first-month celebration for her son, whose paternity was unknown. What shamelessness, daring to present her illegitimate child on the same footing as the true young master of the Horne Family!
Noah Reyes had not a shred of positive feeling for Adele Horne. He even felt that Adele Horne’s presence, and that of her son, at this event tarnished the Horne Family’s reputation. Furthermore, he believed that any grandeur surrounding her illegitimate son’s celebration was solely due to its association with Glades Horne’s child.
"Young Master?"
The bodyguard looked at Noah Reyes with an inquiring expression. The hotel is closed to the public. Where does the Young Master plan to dine?
Noah Reyes remained silent, gazing out through the van’s tinted window. He could see everything outside clearly, but those on the outside couldn’t see anything within the vehicle.
Observing the Emperor hotel’s luxury, the luxury cars out front, the streams of guests arriving endlessly, and the media patiently waiting for the Horne Family to make an appearance, Noah Reyes scoffed in his mind: Glades Horne, you truly are audacious, stirring the whole city for a couple of infants’ first-month celebration!
