Prosecutor vs. Minister: A Battle of Wits-Chapter 87 - 85: Two Major Forces Confront Online - Li Yinyin
Of course.
In the end, it was Xia Qiao and Jiang Zirui who teamed up to drag Jiang Tong to the Sea River Banquet.
Jiang Zirui mainly wanted to freeload a meal, since he didn’t have to pay.
He’s sticking to the principle of saving money whenever possible.
Jiang Tong cried heartbrokenly, half-leaning on the cashier counter to open the meal card.
"Just this once. Starting tomorrow, I’m going to charge rent, eight hundred bucks per person per day!" she lamented, looking up.
Xia Qiao was busy applying powder, and she glanced at her indifferently, "Eight hundred bucks a day? You might as well go rob someone!"
"Yeah, sis, you could earn a few grand from a single heist!" Jiang Zirui chimed in from the side.
Upon hearing this, Jiang Tong gave him a smack on the head, "How is this your business again!"
She was furious.
Always siding with outsiders, who exactly is his real sister?
Hearing her angry shout, Jiang Zirui pouted and rubbed the spot where she just hit him, not daring to speak again.
The three continued their playful bickering as they waited at the entrance for a table.
The atmosphere was originally good but was directly disturbed by two unexpected guests.
"Hey, isn’t that Jiang Tong?"
A piercing female voice rang out, like a screeching hen.
Jiang Tong raised an eyebrow and turned her head out of curiosity.
Shen Anru and a woman dressed in gold and silver entered.
She knew that woman, it was Li Yinyin, whom she also knew from the law firm.
According to her former colleagues, during her internship, Li handled a divorce case; the client was a mining boss, basically a nouveau riche. Somehow the two got involved romantically.
It seems they have registered their marriage and even have a son now.
"Jiang Tong, I’m talking to you!" Li Yinyin gazed at Jiang Tong haughtily, face full of disdain.
Back at the law firm, she couldn’t stand Jiang Tong, so she teamed up with Shen Anru, though they didn’t keep in touch after their internships ended.
Recently, she learned that Shen was about to become the Jiang Family’s Young Madam and tried to cozy up to the Jiang Family, so she shamelessly got back together with Shen Anru.
She had been tolerating Shen Anru’s smug attitude during this time.
And now.
Unexpectedly running into Jiang Tong, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to vent.
Jiang Tong didn’t even give her a glance, pretending to be clueless as she looked at Xia Qiao, "Qiao’er, who is this auntie? Do you know her? Why is she calling my name?"
"Jiang Tong, you—" Li Yinyin was so infuriated she couldn’t speak.
Jiang Tong still acted innocent, blinking her pretty eyes.
"Auntie, do you need something from me?"
Xia Qiao couldn’t hold back her laughter and clutched her stomach as she burst out laughing.
She chimed in, "Maybe she wants to become your relative and then mooch off your meal."
"Oh, so that’s it."
"You guys—"
Li Yinyin was so angry she stamped her foot, wanting to say something but was held back by Shen Anru beside her.
"Alright, Yinyin, better to avoid trouble when you can," she quietly advised, behaving completely different from her previous arrogance.
Jiang Tong curiously glanced at her.
If she didn’t know what Shen Anru was like, she might have been fooled by her obedient demeanor today.
But what had she got into today to not give her a cold sneer for once?
Shen Anru, of course, hadn’t lost her mind; she simply became cautious after learning about Jiang Tong’s identity.
Besides, today she conveniently had a cannon fodder bird with her...
