Pretending to Cultivate in Kindergarten-Chapter 259: A Wordless Night
Lin Zhengran carried Jiang Xueli back to their room at the inn.
He knocked on the door.
Han Wenwen and Little He Qing, still chatting at the edge of the bed, heard the knock. Han Wenwen asked, “Who is it?”
Lin Zhengran: “It’s me.”
Little He Qing perked up with surprise at his voice. “Lin Zhengran’s back? I’ll go open the door.”
She jumped out of bed and ran to the door.
“I’m opening it now.”
But what she saw was Lin Zhengran carrying Jiang Xueli inside. Her gaze trembled for a moment—after all, she had been carried in the exact same way that afternoon.
Could it be…?
But soon, she noticed Jiang Xueli’s eyes were slightly red, like she had been crying for quite a while.
While surprised, she quickly figured out that probably nothing had happened.
Thinking about it, that afternoon lasted over three hours.
She and Zhengran had… well, done that several times.
Surely it couldn’t have happened again just a few hours later.
According to the books she’d read before, normally only girls could go all-out without caring about the number of times.
Guys couldn’t just keep going endlessly.
“Lin Zhengran, you’re back. What’s up with Lili?”
Lin Zhengran didn’t try to hide it—her red eyes were easy to spot. He said, “She walked around with me on the street for a while, then cried a little, got exhausted.”
“She cried?” Little He Qing looked at the sleeping Lili.
Han Wenwen also walked over: “Lili cried?”
Lin Zhengran chuckled: “She’s just like that. It’s fine—I already calmed her down. You two don’t need to worry. She’ll be fine after a good night’s sleep.”
The two girls nodded.
But at the same time, Han Wenwen was curious. Why had Lili gotten so jealous today? What exactly happened this afternoon?
Lin Zhengran looked at Little He Qing and Han Wenwen, especially noticing how He Qing’s eyes looked slightly red too.
He asked, “You cried too?”
Little He Qing let out a soft “Ah,” rubbed her eyes, and said sweetly, “I don’t think so?” She looked at Wenwen, “I didn’t cry, right, Wenwen?”
Han Wenwen smiled, “You kinda did—at the beginning, when we started talking.”
He Qing realized that was true. But she quickly waved her hands to explain so Zhengran wouldn’t misunderstand:
“That was... it had nothing to do with Wenwen! I just got emotional! Lin Zhengran, don’t worry—we didn’t argue. Wenwen and I are still besties!”
Han Wenwen smiled too, “Don’t worry, Brother Zhengran. We talked everything through. When Lili wakes up tomorrow, I’ll talk to her too.”
Just looking at their expressions, Lin Zhengran could tell the conversation went well.
He walked up to Han Wenwen and reached out to stroke the little fox’s head. Han Wenwen obediently nuzzled into his hand.
He said in a pampering tone, “So you ended up getting exposed anyway, huh?”
Han Wenwen bit her lip awkwardly.
This kind of doting, Little He Qing had never seen before.
She realized that Lin Zhengran actually did pet Wenwen’s head sometimes. And Wenwen... really knew how to act cute. Her face was rubbing against his hand just like a little fox.
So Wenwen... was that good at it, huh…
Feeling both shy and jealous, she couldn’t bear to watch anymore.
Not until Lin Zhengran turned and stroked her head too did the jealousy in her heart ease up a bit.
Lin Zhengran said, “Well then, it’s getting late. Didn’t even realize it’s already past midnight. Let’s rest for the night. I was originally planning a picnic tomorrow morning, but at this rate, we won’t be heading out until noon. So you three just sleep in, and we’ll go up the mountain around midday.”
Little He Qing and Han Wenwen both nodded.
The atmosphere was still a little quiet, all three of them staring at Lin Zhengran.
Out of nowhere, Lin Zhengran had an idea—something that could perfectly wrap up the day’s unexpected drama.
“Suddenly had a thought. How about this—tonight, you two sleep with me?”
“Huh?” The two girls spoke in unison. “Sleep together?”
He Qing’s cheeks turned bright red.
Even Little Fox was unusually shy. She wondered—was Brother Zhengran just talking about sleeping? Or…
Lin Zhengran looked puzzled. “What’s wrong? Don’t want to?”
Little He Qing’s voice came out soft and nervous, her head lowered and ears burning red. “It’s… not that I don’t want to, but… how are three people gonna sleep?”
“I’ll just hold you both, one on each side. You’re both my girlfriends anyway. Might as well use tonight to settle things down a bit. Rest up well tonight, and tomorrow we’ll enjoy barbecue and a nice stroll up the mountain.”
Hearing that, Han Wenwen let out a sigh of relief. She realized she’d been overthinking it. Scared the fox half to death.
She exchanged a look with Little He Qing.
Just one glance between besties was all it took.
They both shyly nodded.
Seeing them agree, Lin Zhengran said, “Alright then, you two go in first. I’ve been out walking a lot—I feel a bit gross. I’ll take a shower before coming to bed.”
“Mhm.” Another synchronized nod.
With that, Lin Zhengran went into the bathroom, quickly turned on the hot water, and started preparing to shower.
He asked Han Wenwen to bring him his pajamas.
Han Wenwen found his sleepwear in the bedroom and handed it to him. Then she turned back and exchanged a shy smile with Little He Qing.
Little He Qing whispered, “Then I should get changed too. I didn’t even have time to change after the afternoon nap. Wenwen, you go in the room first.”
“I’ll wait for you. I want to change into something comfy too. Let’s go in together.”
“Alright…”
Little He Qing sat on the bed, pulled out a pink cartoon pajama set from her suitcase, and changed behind Han Wenwen’s back.
Because she hadn’t taken a shower after getting intimate with Lin Zhengran that afternoon…
As she changed her underwear, she snuck a peek at her thighs.
She noticed her body was so clean, her skin soft and smooth—and smelled good too.
She clearly remembered some things... coming out earlier.
Was that all just her imagination?
After getting dressed, Han Wenwen had finished changing too.
The two best friends linked hands and walked together into Lin Zhengran’s bedroom.
Lin Zhengran only spent about ten minutes showering.
He came out in his pajamas, hair freshly blow-dried.
In the bedroom, Han Wenwen and Little He Qing were already tucked into bed.
He glanced at the still-sleeping Jiang Xueli—her golden twin ponytails spread out. She looked extra peaceful.
He turned off the lights in both rooms and climbed into bed.
Soft moonlight filtered through the small gap in the curtains, casting a glow over the bed.
Lin Zhengran lay in the center, left arm around Han Wenwen, right arm around Little He Qing.
The two besties lay at an angle, their faces resting on his chest.
Because their eyes met now and then, both girls were too shy to say anything.
It was the first time both of them had been held by Lin Zhengran like this.
As Lin Zhengran breathed in the different scents on each of them, he felt it was pretty nice:
“Neither of you have any lingering issues, right? If not, let’s get some sleep.”
“Mhm.” They both answered together.
“Good night.”
“Good night, Brother Zhengran…”
“Good night, Lin Zhengran.”
The second half of the night passed faster than anyone expected.
The Three Little Ones all slept soundly.
But there was one thing Lin Zhengran didn’t know—
Tomorrow, Han Wenwen and Little He Qing were planning to have a little “sisterly meeting” with Lili.
And naturally, the topic… would be Lin Zhengran.
