Chapter 236: Over.

"It’s surprising, isn’t it?" James asked as he was looking at Niam and his fucked up face. "Talking about the Bellini family and surprise, surprise, I am part of the family."

"I didn’t mean it like—"

He couldn’t finish it because James pressed the gun harder between his eyes. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm

"You know I would’ve gave a fuck about all of this, actually I wanted to walk out, but one thing you said that caught my attention..." He pushed it more, placing his finger on the trigger. "The Bellini family live by rules, rules that forbid killing children, you little shit, because even if we are monsters, we still have a little heart, you know."

The time seemed to stop for Niam and he was sure that his time had come. His breath was short and too fast, his whole body was shaking because this was his first experience of death creeping upon him or more like death itself sitting in front of him.

He never killed anybody, not even shot at people or beat somebody up, he was just using all his father as if it was a threat, and names in his pocket as intimidation tools. He did it his whole life, to seem to be somebody who actually has power and is ruthless, but he was just a little shit who doesn’t know shit about the world and how to act in it.

Truly he is even a fucking disappointment to his father, and it is clear why he sent him to a therapist to actually have some meaning hammered into his stupid head and an understanding of the world. But he didn’t care about it either. Why should he care? He is rich, at least his family is and he will have a legacy when the time comes, just like how Aubrey thought about it and acted on it... but he died like a dog even though he had a bigger legacy.

On the other hand, this fucking Braccachi family is just a small-time gang dealing those party drugs on the street. If he would take power, he would immediately die on the spot... and to be true, he knew it too. Niam knows very well that he is not really a gangster guy and can’t even stand blood, but still, he acts in this way because he thinks it’s cool, because that’s where the money came from. That’s why they respect his family, at least on their block because outside of it, he knew too they had no power, exactly that’s why he brought up the Bellini name.

He knew nothing about them but admired them just like his father. Niam once heard over a conversation between his dad and one of his partners a year ago about a player of the underworld that’s called Bellini, that how great he is, how smart and menacing he is, and built up a family out of nowhere. That was the first time he heard about the name, but he forgot about it, only had it in a faint memory until he saw some article on social media about them, about how they operate, and those two serial killers.

He got mesmerized by it, like how influential and powerful you need to be to have guys like this loyal to you? How much respect they need to hold toward you to act how you want them to act. That’s what was true power for Niam, that somebody at the Bellini family is actually ordering those guys around, and they do everything wholeheartedly for him.

And now he was sitting in front of a man who was holding a silver gun with the Bellini name written on it.

The question in his mind swirled all over the place, was he one of them too? Another serial killer sociopath?

He is too bowing down before that mysterious don of that family... but at the same time, as he had those questions in his mind, he also realized that they are really just ants... not even, smaller than that, just nothing, because this man alone in front of him, this member of the Bellini family, even if he’s just a soldier or enforcer, had more aura, had more power coming off from him than from his own dad or the whole fucking gang.

That’s when he realized there is no way he is just a soldier.

There is no way somebody this charismatic, this calm and nonchalant with his reaction and words is just an enforcer... he gotta be a higher-ranking member which also means... he just fucked up even more.

Meanwhile, James was pulling the trigger slowly, but a thought went over his mind... that if he kills him, what is going to change?

Like Niam doesn’t even deserve to be shot by him, it would be a disrespect to himself and also Niam’s death would have no reaction. Like another fucking wannabe died and that’s it. He is a nameless fucker. Maybe his family would cry, maybe even the doc would cry by the pure shock that one of her patients’ heads was blown off in front of her, but other than that, nothing in the world would change.

It would just add another one to his kill count.

Yeah, it is crazy that Niam not even be worth to be killed, and even if he does kill him, the news would be spread that he was the one that did it and it will just fuck up his reputation.

Like the drug lord killing random wannabes?

Nah. Niam just needs to learn how to act to his fucking class... a fucking nobody.

"You–" James was quickly interrupted as he wanted to teach something to Niam by... sniffing and crying... and as he looked to the side, it was Eva, her face full red and her tears were rolling down on her cheeks.

Like it was a genuine human reaction to a moment when your brother is moments away from dying, but she went over it and well, her real personality showed.

"Please don’t kill him! We’re... sorry...!" She stuttered as she now cried even more. "W-we are nobodies... p-please don’t kill my brother, please, I beg you... I’ll do everything to–"

"Stop it... just stop..." James said as he lowered his gun and just leaned back, sighing pinching his forehead.

Like begging for their life is one thing, but they were nobodies to beg for it. It’s like if they were a little more powerful family or something, James would have had satisfaction in them begging for it to know that another family knelt before him, but these fucking teenagers begging, and the way she was crying her shit out for his dumbass brother and fucking stupid decision was just over the board... but at least it worked.

The drug lord, the most powerful and feared in the city, stepped back before a girl crying... crazy work, but he fucked up the moment he didn’t let out a clip at them. Everybody else would’ve done that, like straight up slaughtering them down in the moment they were disrespectful with their words, but he kept his cool until he could, and now this just was too much to deal with.

"But you..."

"Stop crying, please, I had enough of this." James said as he slowly stood up, but then came the second worst thing. The pain in his leg came out of nowhere. He didn’t bring his cane for the reason being, the one his name is written on, but now he was regretting that decision.

This fucking pain too, why the fuck it’s even hurting. He looked down at his leg but shit, that didn’t really help him, and the fact that Eva was still fucking crying was just stressing him out even more.

"I forgive y’all, but if this goes public that I was here or that we talked, then I will kill all of you," he said and turned toward the doc. "You too, ma’am.. and be angry at them, because they fucked you up too." He said it, and well, the doc was frozen down a bit because it was really a Bellini, the fucking devil, who killed Takoi, someone she supported, but knew not to do anything or say anything so she juts nodded to it.

"R-Really...?" Eva looked up at him.

"Really. And make your life better and go study or something, because if you follow your dumbass brother, you will die." James glanced at Niam one last time, he was still frozen down by the fact his life flashed before him. "This fuckers..."

With it, James walked straight to the door, but when he opened it, he accidentally hit Mike with it, who tried his best to seem like someone who just came up.

"Were you listening the whole time?"

"Me? Nah." He shook his head, but it was clear he had been there the whole time, his shirt was slightly lifted, revealing his gun, like he had been ready to draw it.

"Anyway, I’ve had enough of the bullshit today. Let’s go eat something." James said with a slight smile as he slowly, like a grandpa, went down the stairs, followed by Mike.
