Pregnant During An Apocalypse [BL]-Chapter 163 - The legendary Lin Yunfeng
Chapter 163: Chapter 163 - The legendary Lin Yunfeng
Yunfeng delicately held his pregnant lover and sat down slowly. His heart overflowed with joy, but beneath that happiness, a deep worry gnawed at him. The world had changed. The safety they once knew was gone, replaced by chaos, death, and creatures lurking in the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
He pulled Muchen closer, his protective instincts surging. I need to protect him well... No matter what happens, I won’t let anything touch him or our child.
Muchen gazed up at him, his sharp eyes softening. "You look worried."
Yunfeng gently brushed his thumb over Muchen’s cheek, his touch lingering as if grounding himself in the reality of this moment. "I’m so sorry I let you deal with all of this alone. I... I was immature and extremely self-centered."
Muchen scoffed, rolling his eyes. "At least you know it yourself."
Yunfeng let out a shaky breath, tightening his hold around Muchen. "I should have been there for you. I should have fought for you instead of running like a coward." His voice wavered, thick with emotion.
Muchen sighed, leaning his head against Yunfeng’s shoulder. "Yeah, you should have." He paused before adding in a whisper, "But... I never hated you for it."
Yunfeng stiffened, his heart clenching at those words. He had spent so long assuming Muchen despised him, that his absence had hurt him beyond repair. But hearing this...
"You don’t hate me?" His voice came out small, almost afraid to hope.
Muchen let out a short laugh. "Idiot. Of course, I was angry. I wanted to kill you for leaving me. But... I also knew you were scared. And I get it. This whole thing is terrifying."
Yunfeng felt his throat tighten. "But you still went through it alone."
Muchen nudged him lightly. "And you came back. That’s what matters."
For the first time in weeks, Yunfeng felt a sense of peace settle in his heart. He placed his palm gently over Muchen’s stomach, feeling a warmth he had never known before.
"From now on, I won’t let you be alone again," he promised, his voice fierce with determination.
Muchen smirked. "Good. Because if you try to run again, I will hunt you down and beat your ass."
Yunfeng chuckled, pressing a soft kiss to Muchen’s forehead. "I wouldn’t dare."
Yunfeng gently caressed Muchen’s stomach, his fingers tracing soothing circles over the small curve. His heart swelled with warmth, but a frown tugged at his brows. Diapers... milk powder... I didn’t stock up on those.
He had spent so much time preparing for survival, collecting food, water, and weapons—but never once had he thought about baby supplies. And after he had convinced himself that he was the one pregnant, the sheer panic had clouded all rational thought. Now that reality had settled, he felt both excitement and an overwhelming sense of responsibility.
His fingers raked through Muchen’s soft, silky hair, enjoying the way his lover leaned into the touch. Muchen sighed, closing his eyes in contentment.
"I feel like eating oranges," he mumbled suddenly, shifting slightly in Yunfeng’s embrace. His nose twitched as he sniffed Yunfeng’s shirt. "Your perfume is really tempting me, like sweet oranges."
Yunfeng chuckled, finding Muchen’s dazed expression endearing. "That must be the smell of my pheromones."
Muchen blinked and sat up, tilting his head. "Really?" He sniffed his own wrist. "I don’t have any."
Yunfeng smiled, cupping his cheek as he leaned closer. "Yes, you do. You smell like delicate roses. It’s so..." He exhaled slowly, his voice dropping to a whisper. "Tempting."
A light flush dusted Muchen’s cheeks as Yunfeng leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss behind his ear. The spot was sensitive, and Muchen shivered at the touch.
"Stop seducing me," he muttered, but there was no real resistance in his voice.
"I’m not," Yunfeng murmured against his skin. "I’m just appreciating the most beautiful person in my life."
Muchen peered up at his lover who looked like he wanted to say something. "I know you want to say something. So spill it."
Yunfeng hesitated for a moment. " But you have to promise not to get angry."
Muchen gave him a lazy glance, his lips quirking up slightly. "Go on."
Yunfeng took a deep breath. "Well... that night. I kind of don’t remember anything."
The warmth in Muchen’s eyes cooled slightly, and Yunfeng could feel the faintest glare directed at him.
"You really don’t remember?" Muchen’s voice was dangerously calm.
Yunfeng gulped. "I mean, I remember some things! But... do you know if I bit you? Or did you bite me? And I don’t mean love bites—I mean like... full-on bite, until it bled."
Muchen frowned, rubbing the side of his neck where a faint mark remained.
"Yeah, you bit me here." He pulled down his collar slightly, revealing the small scar. "Why do you ask?"
Yunfeng’s eyes zeroed in on the mark, his heart pounding. He reached out and ran his fingers over it, feeling the tiny ridges of healed skin.
This confirms it.
His mind raced. The implications were staggering. So... I’m not an omega but an alpha, huh?
Yunfeng’s mind raced as he pieced together the fragments of information. The history archives mentioned a Lin Yunfeng, a powerful alpha, an anomaly among mutated humans, someone whose pheromones were so strong that they altered the bodies of those exposed to them.
At first, he had dismissed it as a coincidence. He had always thought a that he and the Yunfeng from history were not the same person because the legendary Lin yunfeng was an alpha and he was an omega.
But now, with everything lining up—his strange symptoms, the bite mark, and Muchen’s pregnancy—it was becoming harder to deny.
"What if I’m that Yunfeng?"
His breath caught. If that were true, it could be a huge advantage.
If his pheromone can really help mutate people then they don’t even need to worry about weapon
Early-stage mutations in alphas and omegas granted unique abilities, heightened strength, speed, or even regenerative powers. Some lucky cases people even got thunder and electric powers. Compared to that his flames were quite normal.
His eyes fell on everyone sitting around him. ’if everyone mutated...’
It could be the edge they needed to survive in this collapsing world.
His eyes flickered around the dimly lit room. There was only one way to test his theory.
Determined, Yunfeng gently lifted Muchen and placed him down on his coat, ensuring he was comfortable.
Muchen gave him a confused look. "What are you doing?"
"I just need to confirm something," Yunfeng murmured.
Ignoring the suspicious glances from his best friend, he took a step toward Jai, He leaned in close, lowering his head near Jai’s neck and inhaling.
A soft caremal like smell his his nostrils. Before he could sniff it enough, a sharp tug at his collar yanked him back.
"Yaa! What do you think you’re doing?!" Muchen growled, dragging him away with unexpected strength for someone supposedly in a delicate state.
Yunfeng nearly choked from the force of the pull. "I—I was just testing a theory!" he sputtered.
Muchen’s glare could have melted steel. "Oh? A theory, you say? And you needed to sniff another man’s neck for it?"
"It’s not like that!" Yunfeng flailed, trying to escape Muchen’s iron grip. "I was checking if my pheromones had any effect on others! If I really am that Yunfeng from the records, my scent might cause mutations!"
Muchen’s eyes narrowed. "And you couldn’t test this without burying your nose in another man’s neck?"
"I mean—" Yunfeng shut his mouth when he saw the twitch in Muchen’s eyebrow.
A few of the others in the room coughed awkwardly, pretending not to watch.
Jai, who had been caught in the middle of this bizarre experiment, looked bewildered. "Uh, do I need to do something? Or are you two gonna keep flirting?"
Yunfeng cast a sorry glance at his friend.
Muchen’s glare was boring into Yunfeng’s skull, but he ignored it for now. He turned to Jai, his best friend and, unfortunately, the closest available test subject.
"Just... hold out your hand."
Jai let out a deep sigh, already regretting this. "Fine. But if this is some weird excuse to flirt with me, I swear—"
"Shut up and give me your hand," Yunfeng grumbled, grabbing Jai’s wrist.
He leaned in and sniffed.
Jai stiffened, looking extremely uncomfortable. "Dude... this is getting real weird, real fast."
Yunfeng ignored him, his nose twitching as he focused. Then, his eyes widened.
"It’s subtle, but it’s there. You smell like caramel toffee."
Jai raised an eyebrow. "So?"
Yunfeng gasped dramatically. "Oh my god... you’ve mutated!"
Silence.
"huh,"
"you’ve mutated!!"
Jai blinked at him in confusion. "Okay, buddy, repeating the same thing over and over isn’t helping. What does ’mutated’ mean? Am I gonna grow an extra arm or something?"
Yunfeng’s expression was dead serious. "You could."
"WHAT?!" Jai snatched his hand back, cradling it as if it would spontaneously sprout another limb. "You’re kidding, right? I am not growing a third arm! Or a second head! Or—oh god, what if I start shedding skin like a lizard?"
He grabbed Jai’s shoulders. "This is amazing! If you mutated, that means you could develop abilities! Enhanced strength, speed, even healing!"
Jai paused. "Wait. So you’re saying I could become, like... a superhero?"
Yunfeng nodded excitedly.
Jai’s face lit up. "Oh hell yeah! Finally, my time has come!"
