Terrance and Sharan watched this 6v6 full-team battle without missing a single detail.

In the end, the Trainer named Muron won, claiming victory with a 4v6 advantage. His strength was indeed impressive.

Muron even fielded an ace Pokémon with Elite Four–level combat power, and the remaining three were no weaker than Terrance’s Ninetales.

“If I were to face this Muron with only Carbink, Pupitar, Ninetales, and Kirlia, I definitely wouldn’t stand a chance,” Terrance shook his head.

“Then will you change your lineup for tomorrow?”

“No need. My opponent tomorrow is a rookie Champion, not worth going all out against. In other words, if I were to lose to a rookie, there’d be no point in continuing the challenge anyway.”

Terrance waved his hand and smiled.

Perhaps due to the Contest Committee’s consideration for him, his first opponent turned out to be the Champion of the most recent Ever Grande Conference.

Their ages weren’t much different, but the opponent was a Trainer from the Johto region. From Terrance’s perspective, this was an opponent who was relatively “easy to bully.”

Compared to someone like Mr. Norman, who was renowned throughout Hoenn and praised as having strength comparable to the current Elite Four, wasn’t a young Trainer who had just risen to prominence at the Ever Grande Conference much easier to deal with?

Terrance planned to use this opportunity to temper his Pokémon, so his lineup was already decided:

Ninetales, Carbink, Pupitar, Kirlia, Mismagius, and Altaria as the finale.

With Altaria around, defeat was nearly impossible, so Terrance loosened up and decided that in the upcoming matches, as long as he didn’t encounter a Contestant with an overly outrageous record, he would uniformly send out Ninetales, Carbink, Pupitar, and Kirlia first.

Terrance believed that after more than a dozen 6v6 full-team battles against veteran Trainers, they would surely grow rapidly and become capable assistants when he faced Top Trainers.

The next day.

Amid widespread anticipation, Ever Grande Stadium welcomed an exceptionally lively Champion League match.

Unlike yesterday’s matches, today’s interest was astonishing.

Setting aside the steadily arriving media personnel, Muron, yesterday’s Contestant, stood in the Contestant section and looked toward the figures on the rostrum, his mouth twitching uncontrollably.

“Elite Four Phoebe… Elite Four Glacia… Champion Steven…”

“Truly enviable.”

With one Champion and two Elite Four members watching from the rostrum, many spectators felt both excited and nervous.

“I really underestimated the influence of this Contest Master. I didn’t expect two Elite Four and a Champion to come watch his debut match.”

Terrance’s opponent was just a rookie, which meant the overall battle level shouldn’t be particularly high. Even so, it still drew the attention of three powerhouses, leaving many people astonished.

“I say, little Elite Phoebe, why did you come too?”

“Why can’t I come? And don’t add ‘little’, I only look young!” Phoebe pouted and shouted at Glacia.

After that, Phoebe stopped paying attention to Glacia and instead looked down toward the field.

Watching Terrance slowly walk onto the field, Phoebe’s lips curved. She was quite curious about this guy who, a few years ago, had defeated her newly captured Drifblim with a Beautifly.

Elite Four Glacia and Steven each watched the match with different thoughts in mind.

But if Phoebe, as an Elite Four, was here out of curiosity, then Steven was here representing a stance.

“It seems this Terrance is indeed highly valued by the Pokémon Contest faction. In that case, let me see for myself whether he can truly make it to stand before us,” Glacia thought, casting a sideways glance at Steven.

“There aren’t many people, but the key point is that their backgrounds are anything but ordinary.”

When Terrance walked onto the field, he casually swept his gaze around twice before withdrawing it and smiling at his opponent.

The other party was about the same age as him, named Tonpa.

“I suppose these people aren’t here to watch me, right?” Tonpa also smiled faintly, wiping an imperceptible bead of sweat from his forehead.

After traveling for five years, he had finally won a regional conference and earned the right to challenge the Champion League… Although it was the Hoenn region’s Champion League, if he could make it all the way to the end, even as someone from Johto, he could still become an Elite Four. With this goal in mind, Tonpa launched his challenge to the Champion League this season, but the pressure on him right now was immense.

Two Hoenn Elite Four and one Elite Four Champion were watching. He knew clearly that their attention wasn’t on him, but on his opponent – the legendary Contest Master.

Tonpa’s style wasn’t particularly meticulous; he was a Trainer with a personality similar to Ash’s. He didn’t know much about Coordinators, nor did he really understand the concepts of Top Coordinators or Contest Masters, but from the atmosphere at the scene, he already understood his situation.

Having just entered the Champion League, and for some reason not yet recruited by any faction, Tonpa was a typical ordinary person…

Still, while he might be a bit slow, he wasn’t stupid. He naturally understood that he needed to display his strength in the Champion League, so even though his opponent looked very powerful, he didn’t cower.

On the battlefield, Terrance and Tonpa faced each other solemnly. As the referee gave the signal, the two simultaneously sent out their first Pokémon.

“Kirlia!”

“Houndoom!”

Terrance’s opener was the petite and adorable Kirlia, but which possessed terrifying psychic power. The moment it appeared, Kirlia entered a meditative state, seemingly completely unconcerned with the battle.

On Tonpa’s side was a ferocious, dog-like Pokémon with sharp claws and two bone-shaped objects around its ankles. Seeing the faint flames rising from Houndoom’s body, Terrance made his judgment, Flash Fire Ability…

“What a pity. If I want to use psychic power to attack, it’ll be quite troublesome…” As Terrance was thinking, the opponent’s flames surged forward, turning into a vortex that seemed ready to swallow Kirlia whole. Yet in the face of such an attack, Terrance showed no intention of giving any commands. On the field, Kirlia suddenly opened its eyes, and an astonishing wave of Confusion compressed the raging flames into a single fireball. Immediately after…

Under the compression of Confusion, the fireball’s energy collapsed and exploded outright, the shockwaves spreading wildly across the entire arena.

“What terrifying Confusion,” Tonpa’s pupils shrank. As the smoke was quickly blown away, Terrance saw Kirlia protected by a Confusion barrier and Houndoom protected by Protect, and he froze slightly.

“I say, Little Kirlia, even if your psychic power is enormous, there’s no need to waste it like that. I’m giving you a task, win with the smallest possible cost. After all, we might still have to face five more opponents…”

As Terrance’s command was conveyed, a Light Screen appeared out of thin air. Reflecting the light of Dazzling Gleam, it directly swallowed the utterly bewildered Houndoom!!

A one-hit knockout!

At this sight, countless gazes turned toward Kirlia…

That Light Screen, which freely appeared above the opponent… what was going on?!

“Wow, this Kirlia’s psychic power is really impressive,” Phoebe exclaimed in surprise. Although she was a Ghost-type master, her research into Psychic types was no less profound.

“For a Kirlia, that really is an unbelievable level of psychic power…”Glacia nodded.

“Hey, you two, shouldn’t your focus be on Kirlia’s light of evolution?”

Steven spoke in an odd tone at that moment.

Under Tonpa’s heavy gaze, a white light began to spread over Kirlia’s body. The Kirlia that had just defeated Houndoom…

What Terrance hadn’t expected was that his command not only accelerated and simplified the battle’s rhythm for Kirlia, but also stimulated even greater power within Kirlia…

“I’ll take care of the next five opponents~” Through telepathy, Terrance understood Kirlia’s intent and was momentarily stunned.

Watching Kirlia, now completely shrouded in evolution light and evolving toward Gardevoir, Terrance smiled and shook his head. Fine then, the timing was about right anyway.

At the same time, in the stands, the Rotom Pokédex watching the match together with the assistant Sharan suddenly activated a certain program… Beneath Kirlia’s icon, the progress bar was jumping wildly.

Psychic power development level 97%… Psychic power development level 98%… Psychic power development level 99%… Psychic power development level 100%!!
