Pokémon Court-Chapter 508: Obtaining the Gems
Chapter 508 - Obtaining the Gems
"Aaron from the Silk Club, renowned as 'Aaron of the Bugs,' has defeated his opponents with overwhelming superiority in the Champion League many times. He is truly a master of Bug-Type!!"
"What's even more surprising is that Aaron's partner, Contestant Terrance, is actually the Gym Leader of Fallarbor Gym in the Hoenn region! A Gym Leader famous for specializing in Bug Type! What kind of surprises will this duo bring us in the final battle?!"
As the announcer finished speaking, most of the audience's attention shifted to Terrance, who was walking out of the corridor.
"He's a Gym Leader?!"
"I've been to the Hoenn region, but I've never heard of this Gym."
Step by step, Terrance walked toward the arena, glancing around before looking at the announcer.
He remembered that his registration details had been kept quite simple. Yet in just one day, because he had reached the finals, all of his information had been dug up?
Still, the tournament organizer's decision certainly made the atmosphere in the venue even more lively.
Before this, although Terrance had shown strength on par with Aaron, no one really knew him. Compared to Aaron, who had long made a name for himself in Sinnoh, Terrance had always seemed like a mere supporting player.
But now that Gym Leader Terrance's identity was revealed, countless eyes immediately focused on him. After all, in an entire region, the number of Gyms would never exceed twenty.
"Heh, you guys don't even know who Terrance is? What a bunch of country bumpkins."
Among the nearly thousand spectators, there were bound to be some who recognized Terrance—and some who knew him very well.
"Terrance is Hoenn's Top Coordinator and the Gym Leader of Fallarbor Gym. He once defeated one of Elite Four Phoebe's Pokémon. When his Gym first opened, he even challenged the entire younger generation of Trainers in Hoenn—and won every single match."
A well-dressed young man sitting on his seat said, "The moment he stepped onto the stage, I knew Terrance would make it to the finals. In Sinnoh, there might be people more outstanding than him—like Aaron, who's right beside him—but unfortunately for their opponents, they're partners. No matter what, they won't lose. Those two Trainers from Kalos? They don't stand a chance."
The young man, who looked like a rich heir, spoke in a gossiping tone, a knowing smile on his face as he explained to the spectators.
"He's had dealings with our family's business, so I remember him."
The spectators around the young man looked at one another, then turned their gazes toward Terrance, who was now standing in the arena, their faces filled with surprise.
"A Trainer from Hoenn, one who isn't inferior to Aaron?"
In the arena, Terrance and Aaron stood facing two young Trainers.
The clothing style of these two was somewhat different from that of Terrance and Aaron. However, judging by their expressions, even after hearing about Terrance and Aaron's identities, they showed no obvious signs of being shaken.
"Our opponents are strong, stronger than us, but we have made extremely thorough preparations," Fick thought to himself.
"As long as we can restrict Gallade's Teleport, the threat posed by our opponents won't be as great," Nia thought.
Looking at Terrance and Aaron, the two placed their hands near the Poké Balls at their waists, silently waiting for the referee to announce the start of the match.
"Go, Meowstic!" the duo from Kalos shouted in unison.
"Meowstic?" Terrance was momentarily stunned, then quickly threw out his own Poké Ball.
Meowstic is a Pokémon with distinct male and female forms.
While there are other Pokémon with gender-based differences in appearance, Meowstic not only looks different depending on gender but also learns different moves—males excel in support moves, while females specialize in offensive moves.
"Interesting," Aaron remarked as he observed the two expressionless Meowstics. He knew that this species rarely displayed emotion, but that wasn't necessarily a drawback—some Trainers actually preferred their cold and indifferent demeanor.
Like an empress, Vespiquen floated proudly in the sky, while Terrance's Altaria took off from the arena, soaring to greater heights.
Invisible shockwaves pulsed outward, emanating a tremendous intimidation from Altaria. The moment these two Pokémon appeared, the expressions of the Kalos duo shifted.
"It's not Heracross and Gallade!! Contestant Terrance and Aaron have switched Pokémon for the finals!" the announcer shouted.
As the name suggests, Meowstic is a Psychic-Type Pokémon. Seeing their opponents' lineup, Terrance stroked his chin. "If both of them work together, there's a good chance they can suppress Gallade's Teleport with their Psychic abilities. But Gallade isn't without ways to fight back..."
"At the same time, Heracross isn't just for show. But since I already know your lineup, why would I still send Gallade onto the field?" Terrance revealed a slight smile. While he didn't think he would lose, he intended to secure victory in the most foolproof way possible.
"Alt~aria~" Altaria let out a cry, its gaze locking onto the indigo-colored Meowstic.
"Be careful of their control-type moves, and also watch their ears," Terrance said calmly.
The inner side of Meowstic's ears contains organs capable of unleashing powerful psychic energy. Normally, they remain hidden, but when the Pokémon is fighting at full power, its ears stand upright to release that energy.
"So, this is the final match, right?" Aaron asked.
"Yeah, let's perform at our absolute best," Terrance replied.
"In that case, I won't hold back," Aaron said with a smile. The battle officially began!
A swarm of Combee grubs emerged from Vespiquen's body, surrounding it as they flew directly toward the female Meowstic.
"Altaria, Dragon Pulse," Terrance commanded.
Boom!
A massive dragon-shaped wave surged forward, tearing through the air as it rushed toward the male Meowstic. In that instant, layer upon layer of densely packed Light Screens stacked together, appearing right in front of the two Meowstics. The moment the battle began, both Pokémon raised their ears, fully unleashing their psychic energy to resist the danger that they could sense from Dragon Pulse.
"Now, use Confusion to restrain Altaria."
"Follow up with Charge Beam!"
The two Trainers shouted their commands in quick succession.
However, before the Meowstics could launch their next attack, the Dragon Pulse had already pierced through the layered Light Screens created by both Pokémon. One wall after another shattered with a resounding crash!
Such incredible destructive power!
Confusion locked onto Altaria, but with a graceful movement, Altaria broke free using Dragon Dance. With its powerful body and sheer willpower, it completely ignored the restraint of Confusion!
At the same time, Vespiquen, which had been advancing stealthily, took advantage of Altaria's suppression of the two Pokémon. The countless Combee grubs around it swiftly scattered and reformed into a single purple stinger. Riding the air pressure, it shot forward like an arrow, delivering a lethal strike to the female Meowstic.
"Amazing... Using the Combee grubs' Attack Order to form Fell Stinger, then coating them with Toxic, and finally boosting their speed with Gust—what a dazzling combination," Terrance observed, glancing toward Vespiquen before looking skyward.
Altaria's Moonblast descended directly, piercing through the male Meowstic's entire body!
The battle was decided.
If they had used the Heracross and Gallade combination, it wouldn't have been possible to dominate this overwhelmingly. It would have taken more effort.
However, this outcome was exactly as Terrance had anticipated.
"It has appeared again... that lightning-fast tempo... Even in the finals, Contestant Aaron and Terrance remain absolutely unstoppable!!" the announcer exclaimed in genuine astonishment. Having commentated on battles for so many years, this level of overwhelming combat was a rare sight.
Looking at the stunned Kalos duo, Terrance took out Altaria's Poké Ball. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
"The two gems... I'll be taking them."
