Pokémon Court-Chapter 111: Fire-type Pokémon Egg
Chapter 111: Fire-type Pokémon Egg
Crimson skies, patterns resembling fiery clouds filled the heavens, weaving a beautiful and pure expanse for the Pokémon egg.
Terrance cradled a Pokémon egg, shifting his gaze from left to right. At times, he would look up at the sky, and at others, he would bow his head with a deep sigh…..Clearly, this was the egg of a Fire-type Pokémon.
Terrance hadn’t expected that the reward from the police would be a flag and this Pokémon egg. It wasn’t that the reward from the police was inadequate; it’s just that Terrance was not prepared to take care of another Pokémon at this moment.
This reward….came as a sudden surprise to Terrance.
“Terrance, come out for a moment,” a female voice from outside interrupted the distressed Terrance.
“Teacher Teresa…” Terrance began with a smile, but the smile quickly froze on his face because she was holding a plate of dark food emitting a weird aura.
“Hehe…” Terrance forced a chuckle. If it were Pokémon cuisine, Teacher Teresa was undoubtedly a true master, an expert. However, when it came to human food….it would certainly send shivers down the spine of those who tasted it. One plate is enough to end it all.
“Don’t make that face. I’ve brought good news,” Teacher Teresa said earnestly.
“What is it?” Terrance asked, puzzled.
“Recently, the academy recognized your efforts. After considering it, they decided to reward you with some material goods as a token of appreciation for saving Gyarados and the students’ Pokémon.”
Terrance paused for a moment, but in the next instant, Teacher Teresa patted his shoulder and said casually, “Don’t overthink it… You see, upon seeing the reward sent by the police, the academy felt that merely awarding you some credits wouldn’t be appropriate. They were concerned you might be unhappy.”
Not… happy?
Terrance wore a bitter expression. Was he really that childish?
Moreover, being able to study at the academy for free already made him content. Terrance has always been a person who is content with what he has.
“It’s a very practical reward. The academy has prepared a year’s worth of Pokémon food for you; of course, it is only limited to the Pokémon you currently have in your possession.”
“A year’s worth of food?” Terrance’s eyes lit up. This was a real lifesaver. After sending Probopass away, Swablu, Beautifly, and the Pokémon not yet born would require a lot of food for nourishment. Moreover, the academy’s food was mostly high-quality, prepared by specialized Breeders. Even if they only ate the food, a Pokémon could grow exceptionally well.
And there was little Misdreavus as well. Ghost-type Pokémon didn’t require just energy-based food; they simply had fewer suitable food options. However, with the academy’s funding, he could provide a variety of nutritious food to little Misdreavus.
“Are they trying to….bind me to the academy completely?” Terrance chuckled to himself.
This gesture from them wasn’t merely a reward; it was meant to give him a sense of belonging, identity, and recognition as a member of Crown Academy.
Terrance pondered, and it did seem to have an element of targeted training…..However, he didn’t dislike it as he had started with nothing, and besides his youth, he didn’t have any other standout qualities. Perhaps it was because of his relationship with Master Victor, and the academy valued his potential and wanted to focus on nurturing and looking after him. But such things were common in any place. freeweb novel. com
Terrance wasn’t worried either because he believed he had the qualifications to receive these benefits. Moreover, compared to other tightly bound “corporations,” “organizations,” or “forces,” a place like the academy was already quite free.
If Terrance could achieve success in the future, becoming a figure at the level of the Elite Four, and use his influence to endorse Crown Academy, then the academy’s investment wouldn’t be in vain, and if Terrance was willing to return and teach at the academy in the future, it would be considered a significant gain.
The academy did all this to ensure that Terrance would remain connected to the academy even after graduation.
“Well, that sounds great,” Terrance had no qualms in accepting it once he understood everything. With no resources to his name right now, he had to seize every opportunity; besides he also had a favorable impression of the academy.
“There’s one more thing!” Teacher Teresa hesitated.
“What is it?” Terrance asked, intrigued.
“There’s someone who wants to meet you,” Teacher Teresa said, “But it’s up to you to decide. Think it over carefully before you answer him.”
Terrance was acquainted with the person who wanted to meet him, Julian, a former teacher with a police background who used to be in charge of the Battle Class. He had resigned from his position after losing a battle against Cynthia and Terrance didn’t know what he was up to now.
Terrance knew the person who wanted to meet him, but he didn’t expect to have any further interactions with him after that. Teacher Julian was a former police officer who had once taught the Battle Class. After losing to Cynthia in a battle, he resigned from his position. It was unclear what he was doing now.
Receiving Julian’s invitation, Terrance had no idea what the teacher had in mind, but he couldn’t refuse the meeting and had to go with a head full of doubts to see for himself what the teacher wanted.
Upon meeting, both of them remained silent, creating an awkward atmosphere. Terrance took the initiative to break the tension and asked, “Teacher Julian, I’m curious about what happened to those poachers. How were they dealt with?”
“Those poachers? They faced legal consequences, but the interesting part is that their leader claimed to be framed and also exposed another big fish – the president of the True Red Corporation. Although he has absconded to avoid punishment, they managed to dig up a lot of evidence of his illegal activities. Now, even the corporation has been acquired by a young entrepreneur…” novelbuddy. com
As Julian spoke, he seemed to feel that the conversation had drifted off course and asked a peculiar question, “Why did you choose to study breeding knowledge?”
Terrance was taken aback for a moment before replying, “Because the entry barrier for breeding knowledge is low, and once you reach intermediate level, many businesses will be eager to hire you, elevating you to a white-collar status.”
Julian smiled, not surprised by this response. After obtaining Terrance’s information from the academy and contacting Looker to review Terrance’s records, he had gained some understanding of this student.
“So, you’re saying that your primary goal in studying breeding knowledge is for the money?” he asked.
“At first, yes. But I also believe that breeding skills indirectly affect a Trainer’s abilities,” Terrance explained. “I think an Intermediate Breeder is the dividing line. Below that level, it’s the highest standard that an ordinary Trainer can achieve. It provides a thorough understanding of Pokemon growth, behavior, and food, allowing Trainers to better unearth their own and their Pokemon’s potential.”
“You’re not wrong,” Julian agreed. “So, do you aspire to become a Top Trainer?”
“Top Trainer… I haven’t really thought about it. But I do plan to earn the title of Top Coordinator,” Terrance said.
“Why?” Julian asked, puzzled.
Terrance hesitated for a moment, unsure of Julian’s intentions, but there was nothing to hide. “It’s a dream,” he said.
“Anything else?”
“It’s more easily attainable.”
To be honest, Terrance didn’t have a strong obsession with becoming a Top Coordinator. His main goal was to let the people at the Old Green House see him step onto the Grand Festival’s stage with Beautifly, fulfilling their childhood dream.
Additionally, Terrance genuinely believed that becoming a Top Coordinator was… simpler.
This was the conclusion he reached after looking up the past records of Top Coordinators. Compared to traditional Trainers, Coordinators seem to excel only in showcasing the charm of their Pokémon in various ways. In terms of actual battle prowess, the average level of Coordinators is much lower.
