Playboy: Medical and Martial Master-Chapter 186: Li Yufei’s Illness
Li Yufei walked into the office with a beaming smile, an exquisite luxury handbag in her hand. She strode in on long, slender legs clad in black stockings. Her tight, high-waisted pencil skirt was so short it nearly revealed the tops of her thighs, making every step a tantalizing sight.
As she entered the office, she was about to greet everyone when her eyes landed on Sun Zhe. Her smile froze instantly, and a flicker of extreme hatred surfaced in her gaze. "Why is it you?"
She pointed a finger at Sun Zhe, ready to let loose a stream of curses, but just then, Meng Shiya rushed over and hugged her arm.
"Auntie, what are you doing here?"
"Shiya... I..." Seeing Meng Shiya, Li Yufei couldn’t help but pause. Meng Shiya’s mother was Li Yufei’s older sister, which made Meng Shiya her niece.
"Auntie, you’re here to see my master for a medical consultation, right?"
"Uh... your master?"
"That’s right." Meng Shiya proudly pulled Li Yufei to the desk. Beaming, she looked at Sun Zhe and announced, "This is my master, Sun Zhe, the Divine Doctor Sun."
"Auntie, let me tell you, my master’s medical skills are incredible! He can cure any difficult or complicated illness. You can trust him completely. I guarantee he’ll cure you," she said, before adding, "And I’ve learned so much from him recently."
"Is that so..." Li Yufei secretly shot Sun Zhe a glare, forcing a smile onto her face.
She never imagined that the Divine Doctor her brother-in-law Meng Hailiang had introduced would turn out to be Sun Zhe! In Meng Hailiang’s description, the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department at People’s Hospital had a special division with only one Divine Doctor in charge. This doctor was supposedly incredibly skilled, with an unparalleled medical expertise, and had never failed to cure a single patient since starting his job. That’s why she had taken advantage of her free time today to come and see if this Divine Doctor was truly as miraculous as Meng Hailiang claimed.
Silence fell for a moment before Meng Shiya suddenly introduced them. "Master, this is my aunt, Li Yufei. She practically raised me when I was little, so we’re like sisters. She even used to steal my New Year’s money!"
"What do you think? Isn’t my aunt beautiful? She’s only thirty-two this year. But unfortunately... my aunt is already taken."
Sun Zhe smiled and gestured to the stool in front of his desk. "Hello, Ms. Li. Please, have a seat."
Li Yufei pressed her lips into a thin, fake smile. She reluctantly walked to the desk and sat down gracefully, her black-stockinged legs held neatly together. She looked at Sun Zhe with a complex expression.
Thinking about the slap she had received at Ten Thousand Medicines Hall yesterday afternoon, she wanted nothing more than to lunge forward and tear him to shreds right now! But for the sake of her niece, Meng Shiya, she decided to hold back.
"Have you registered?" Sun Zhe asked.
"I have." Li Yufei pulled out the registration receipt and handed it to him.
Sun Zhe glanced at it, casually tossed it into a box, and asked, "What seems to be the problem?"
Li Yufei was suddenly embarrassed, unsure of how to bring it up. Moreover, she found it difficult to confess her secret to this man, especially with Meng Shiya present. "Um... Shiya," she said, turning to her niece.
"What is it, Auntie?"
"Could you give us a moment? I need to discuss something private with Dr. Sun."
"Oh..." Meng Shiya gave a knowing smile. "Okay, I get it."
Li Yufei’s face flushed. "You don’t get anything!" she scolded softly. "Now, hurry up and get out!"
Meng Shiya stuck out her little pink tongue at her. "Auntie, why are you so fierce now? You used to be so gentle at home, before you got married."
At this, Li Yufei stomped her foot in frustration and playfully swung a fist at her. Meng Shiya yelped and darted away.
「A short while later.」
After Meng Shiya had left, Sun Zhe focused his attention on Li Yufei. "I’m a doctor. Since you chose to register and see me, there’s no need to hide anything."
Li Yufei huffed softly and looked away. "You’re not that old. Are you really as amazing as Director Meng said? Is there really no illness you can’t cure?"
"I’ve never considered myself amazing, nor have I ever given myself any labels," Sun Zhe replied calmly. "I certainly have never promised anyone that I can cure everything. I simply do what is within my capabilities."
Steeling herself, Li Yufei blurted out, "I can’t get pregnant. I think there’s something wrong with my body."
Sun Zhe’s brow furrowed slightly. "Let me take your pulse."
Li Yufei extended her hand and rolled up the sheer mesh sleeve, revealing her fair wrist.
A few minutes later, Sun Zhe released her wrist, simultaneously deactivating his Yin Yang X-ray Vision. He stated bluntly, "You have a hormonal imbalance. This causes frequent emotional instability and even inexplicable fits of rage."
Hearing this, Li Yufei’s eyes narrowed. "Are you insulting me?" she asked coldly.
"I am describing your condition," Sun Zhe said. "I suggest you pay attention to your diet, maintain a regular schedule, exercise and sweat more, and maintain a stable intimate life with your husband. Don’t bottle things up. You might even consider talking to a therapist when you have time. If this goes on for too long, it won’t just affect your physical health; it could also lead to depression."
Li Yufei fell silent. Suddenly, she felt that this man understood her completely, as if he could see right through her.
"Next," Sun Zhe continued, "you have an accumulation of toxins in your body."
Li Yufei’s eyes widened slightly. "Toxins?"
Sun Zhe nodded. "Do you take a lot of medication? Both Chinese and Western?"
"Mmm..."
"All medicine has some degree of toxicity," Sun Zhe explained. "And you’re not actually sick. By randomly taking so many different kinds of medicine, you’ve caused toxins to build up in your body over time. However, none of this is related to your inability to conceive. The problem isn’t with you. It might be with your husband."
"How is that possible?" Li Yufei quickly retorted. "My husband... my husband lasts for twenty minutes every time, and there’s a large volume... How could there be a problem with him?"
Sun Zhe smiled. "It has nothing to do with duration or volume. I’ve met your husband before. He’s on the older side, so it’s possible his sperm quality isn’t good, which is preventing you from getting pregnant. I suggest you have him get checked out."
Li Yufei fell silent once more. Truthfully, she’d had her suspicions about Wang Dahua, but she never dared to even mention it.
"Finally," Sun Zhe said, "you have a small, fully formed tumor under your breast. If it isn’t treated in time, there is a risk it could become cancerous and lead to breast cancer. I’m not trying to scare you; this analysis is based on facts I’ve observed."
Li Yufei’s eyes trembled. "How did you know about the tumor?" She had gotten a check-up not long ago which had indeed found a tumor. However, she didn’t want surgery because it would leave a scar, and she was sure Wang Dahua would find it repulsive.
"I’m a doctor. Of course I could tell," Sun Zhe replied.
"Then... can you cure me without surgery?"
Sun Zhe nodded. "I can. I’ve actually treated a case identical to yours before. So, do you want the treatment?"
Li Yufei bit her lip lightly. "After what happened between us... will you really treat me?" she asked softly.
Sun Zhe gave a calm smile. "Let’s separate the two matters. We may have had a conflict before, but right now, wearing this uniform and sitting in this chair, I am a doctor. In my eyes, you are simply a patient."
Li Yufei took a deep breath. "Fine. If you can cure me, then we’ll call it even for what happened before."
"Go to the room in the back," Sun Zhe said, standing up. "You’ll need to take off your clothes."
"Oh..." Blushing, Li Yufei got up and followed him.
