Phoenix Revenge System-Chapter 130: PRS 31 Liona
After Lina’s problem in Satarara village was successfully resolved, it was now time for Popox and his gang to be arrested. A grand plan had been carefully prepared, and all that remained was to wait for the right moment to execute it.
Popox, who had been feeling anxious all day, pacing back and forth in his dark hiding place while thinking about the risks he would face, finally decided to carry out his second plan. His breath caught in his throat and his hands trembled as he gave the final instructions to his men. They began their operation in the afternoon, when Arto and Atri went to a neighbor’s wedding, which was quite far from home, while Januar had not yet returned from work, as he usually came home late at night.
Liona, who already knew Popox’s decision through her spiritual abilities, immediately woke up from her sleep and called her mother by screaming loudly, her voice breaking the silence of the house. The scream made Lura, who was in the kitchen preparing dinner, rush into the room in a panic, her heart pounding.
"What’s wrong, dear? Are you uncomfortable? Are you in pain?" asked Lura as she carefully turned Liona’s body to see if there were any injuries that caused her baby to scream in pain. Her hands anxiously checked her baby’s entire tiny body.
"No, mother, I’m fine," replied Liona in a baby’s voice that was clear to her mother’s ears. "I was crying to call you to come to my room because I still can’t walk properly to find you. I’m sorry for scaring you."
Lura breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing her daughter’s explanation, her hand holding her still-pounding chest. "Thank goodness, I thought something was wrong with you, dear. Don’t scare me like that again."
She immediately sat down next to Liona with a concerned look on her face, waiting to hear what her baby had to say. A bad feeling crept into her heart.
"Mom, the kidnappers are on the move. They’re already on their way here," said Liona in a serious tone that was unusual for a baby. "Mom, you should contact Grandpa’s friend right away so they can carry out their plan. We don’t have much time, Mom. Hurry!"
Lura felt her hair stand on end upon hearing her daughter’s warning. Her hands were cold and sweaty.
Lura, who completely trusted her baby, even though her heart was still filled with anxiety, immediately left the room and headed for the telephone in the living room. Her steps were hurried, and she almost tripped over the carpet.
Quickly, her nimble but trembling fingers dialed the number her father had left in the notebook next to the phone. Every second felt like an eternity, the dial tone sounding like an alarm in her ears.
"Hello... Mr. Gebi?" Lura’s voice trembled slightly when the phone connected.
As soon as the connection was made and Gebi’s voice was heard on the other end, Lura immediately introduced herself in a voice she tried to calm down. "Good afternoon, Mr. Gebi. I am Lura, Mr. Arto’s daughter. Sorry to bother you."
"Oh, Lura. What’s wrong? You sound panicked," Gebi replied in a concerned tone.
"Sir, they’re on their way! Popox and his gang seem to be coming here soon. My daughter told me that they are already on their way," explained Lura, occasionally glancing at the door, afraid that someone might hear.
Lura explained in detail why she had called her father’s friend, recounting everything that Liona had told her.
Gebi, upon hearing the news that Popox had begun to act, immediately took control of the situation. "Okay, Lura. Stay calm. You have to be strong. I’ll mobilize the team right away," he said firmly.
He immediately instructed his men, who were already stationed at several points around Lura’s residence, to be alert and ready. "Team Alpha, get ready! The target is moving. Everyone to their positions!" he ordered via radio communication.
Following Arto’s advice, who had received instructions from Liona earlier on the best way to capture Popox without casualties, Gebi changed his strategy slightly to make it more effective and surprising.
"Team Bravo, enter from the back as originally planned. Don’t let them see you!" he instructed again in a firm whisper.
Several members sneaked into the back of the yard through the house directly behind Arto’s residence, where a ladder had been prepared since earlier that afternoon so as not to arouse suspicion from outside. They moved like shadows, very quiet and well-trained.
As soon as they entered the backyard very carefully, the members immediately scattered and took up their respective positions. Some hid behind a large tree, others clung to the wall of the house, all of them on full alert.
"All clear, commander," whispered one of the members through a small communicator in his ear.
Popox and his members had no idea that their actions had been detected from the start. They were too confident. There was no suspicious movement in front of the house. Even the meatball seller and scavengers who usually passed by were nowhere to be seen, as if it had been arranged so that the road in front of Lura’s house was very quiet at that moment, making it easier for them to take action without any witnesses.
"How’s the situation? Anything strange?" Popox asked through the communicator in a whisper, his eyes constantly scanning the surroundings with caution.
"It’s safe, boss. The streets are deserted. No one is passing by at all. It looks like luck is on our side," replied his member with a satisfied tone.
"Very good. This is our golden opportunity," Popox smiled slyly. "Execute according to plan. Not a single mistake. We only have this one chance!"
Once the instructions were clearly given, Popox’s members began to move slowly. They walked like ordinary people, occasionally looking left and right to make sure the coast was clear, pretending to be motorcycle taxi drivers waiting for passengers.
After making sure it was safe and no one suspected their movements, the two of them quickly jumped over the fence. Their movements were practiced, as if they had done this many times before.
One person immediately opened the gate latch from the inside carefully so as not to make a sound, while the other peeked through the window and took a shiny dagger out of his pants pocket. Their eyes were sharp like predators hunting their prey.
Knock knock knock...
The sound of knocking on the door made the atmosphere even more tense.
Hearing the door being knocked on, Lura, who was pretending to be asleep, felt her heart beating so fast it felt like it was going to jump out of her chest. Cold sweat began to dampen her temples even though the room was air-conditioned.
Even though Liona had assured her that they would be safe and the operation would go smoothly, realizing that the kidnappers had come to her house when no one else was home except her and her baby, her heart was still anxious and she immediately hugged her baby tightly, as if protecting her from danger.
"It’s okay, Mom. Calm down," said Liona, trying to calm her mother with her soft voice. "Everything has been planned well by Uncle. The police are already in position. Trust me, Mom."
"Yes, there are police officers here and there’s Liona. Nothing bad will happen to us. We’ll be fine," Lura tried to reassure herself with positive thoughts, though her hands were still trembling as she held Liona.
After knocking patiently on the door several times and seeing no movement inside after peeking through the window, Popox’s two men slowly began to open the door using a wire inserted into the keyhole. They were skilled, like professional thieves.
Click.
The sound of the lock opening made them smile with satisfaction.
As soon as the door slowly opened, the two crept into the very quiet house. Only the ticking of the clock hanging in the living room could be heard. The two immediately entered several rooms on the first floor with confidence, unaware that someone was waiting for them there, ready to trap them.
Bugh! Bugh!
A single blow to the back of the neck knocked them both unconscious almost simultaneously in two different rooms. Their bodies collapsed to the floor with a thud.
Quickly and skillfully, the police immediately removed Popox’s men’s clothes and handed them over to police officers who had the same body type as the criminals before tying them up with nylon rope while they were wearing only their underwear. Their mouths were also gagged so they couldn’t scream.
Next, they immediately called a beautiful policewoman who was already dressed and made up to look like Lura, even her makeup was almost identical. She carried a doll in a batik scarf, just as Januar’s sister used to do when she took Liona out of the house.
Once they were ready and sure that their disguise was perfect, one member who saw a black van with tinted windows stop outside the yard immediately instructed the two to get out while carrying the policewoman who was playing the role of Lura. They covered both of their eyes tightly with black cloth and tied them up, then roughly paraded them to the car as if they were really kidnapping them.
"Don’t make any noise! Come with us quietly if you don’t want anything to happen to your baby!" threatened one of the undercover police officers, their acting very convincing.
Seeing that their two friends and their target had gotten into the car smoothly, without the slightest suspicion, their colleague who was the driver immediately sped off to the place where Popox and his gang were waiting impatiently. They smiled contentedly, thinking the mission was a success.
As soon as the car left the housing complex, several members who were already on motorcycles were ready to follow at a safe distance while signaling to several of their men who were scattered along the route they were taking. It was like a neatly connected chain of communication.
Fortunately, during the nearly thirty-minute drive, the driver did not engage the two in conversation and focused only on driving. This was certainly very beneficial for the police, allowing their cover to remain intact until they arrived at the location they suspected was Popox’s hideout.
Upon arriving at an old, dilapidated, and neglected building in an area quite far from residential areas, seeing the van stop in front of an old warehouse, the officers who had already arrived at the location five minutes earlier immediately moved to surround the building from all directions. They made sure there was no escape for Popox and his men, like rats in a trap.
Inside the stuffy, musty warehouse, Popox looked very excited and impatient. He paced back and forth, waiting for the arrival of his special "guests." Lias, who was with him, also looked anxious, but there was doubt in his eyes.
"Finally! I can’t wait to hear if Lura and her child have been successfully kidnapped!" Popox exclaimed with a beaming face. "Because I want to contact Januar immediately to demand a large ransom in exchange for the safety of his sister and nephew. We’ll be rich!"
Although he was not particularly close to Lura before, Lias was quite familiar with her face and body shape because he had stalked the family several times, so he narrowed his eyes suspiciously when he saw the woman carrying a baby in front of him, wondering if Popox’s men had kidnapped the wrong person. Something was not right.
"Wait a minute," said Lias, raising his hand. "Something’s strange here."
"What do you mean?" asked Popox, frowning.
"Open her blindfold. I want to see if this woman is really Lura. I feel that something is wrong with her posture," said Lias sharply, pointing at the policewoman.
Popox, hearing Lias’s words, immediately sensed that something was wrong. His heart began to race. But before he could take action or give any orders, one of the police officers who was disguised as a member of Popox who had kidnapped Lura, felt that the man who had arrived seemed to be starting to suspect the disguise of the policewoman beside him, so he immediately signaled to his colleagues outside using a secret hand signal so that before anyone realized the trap, all the members had quickly moved in, pointing their guns in all directions.
"POLICE! We have you surrounded! Hands up, everyone! Don’t move!" shouted one of the officers in a loud, authoritative voice that broke the silence of the warehouse.
Chaos immediately ensued. Popox, Lias, and Bobi, who were panicking and trying to escape through the back door, were shot in the calves, causing them to fall down with screams of pain, unable to escape. Blood began to flow from their legs.
"Aaaaargh! Damn it!" Popox shouted in pain as he held his bleeding leg.
Once the leader of the criminals had been effectively neutralized, it was easy for the police to arrest all of Popox’s members who had been on the run with him, escaping from the police. One by one, they were handcuffed with their hands behind their backs.
Lura, who heard from Liona’s heart that Popox had been successfully arrested, felt so relieved that tears fell from her eyes. The great storm that had threatened her family had been successfully weathered, with no loss of life. She hugged Liona tightly and whispered, "Thank you, dear. Thank you for saving our family."
"You’re welcome, Mom. I will always protect our family," replied Liona in a soft voice that only her mother could hear.
