Chapter 357: Yuan crystal mine

Resting and studying the spell formation was how the duo spent their days inside the dark cave.

Lu Mingshu contacted the magician again. When the other party heard that there was a formation she needed him to figure out, he agreed immediately. He even allowed her to out the bill on her tab, knowing that she was having a hard time.

Time flew, and soon, a month had passed. Both of them had already healed, and they could finally walk normally.

As for the spell formation, there was progress too.

“That fast?” Xie Lianzhen stared at her. “Hey, this formation is extremely complicated and overlapped by at least a hundred other spell formations! Even if we only analyze one per day, it should take us at least three months!”

“Do you not trust me?” Lu Mingshu continued to concentrate on drawing the spell formation’s maze following the magician’s instruction.

“I do!”

“Then shut the fuck up.”

“…”

After three days, the drawing was finally done.

“Where are your mystic crystals? Take them all out.”

Xie Lianzhen threw his mustard seed pouch to her.

Lu Mingshu took out all her mystic crystals and combined them with Xie Lianzhen’s. She then put them in place according to her drawing.

“Come over.”

Xie Lianzhen followed Lu Mingshu’s instruction and stood where she told him.

Lu Mingshu put the last mystic crystal in place, and in no time, the mystic crystals all lit up as if on fire as the mystic force moved towards the center of the maze.

“Boom!” Lu Mingshu turned away immediately to avoid being blinded by the light.

The mystic force around her was so strong that it might result in a massive explosion. She couldn’t help but reach out for Xie Lianzhen, gripping onto him for dear life.

The lights slowly dimmed down, and after some time, the mystic force around her slowly balanced out.

They looked up, and what they saw made them stand rooted to the ground.

The cave wall’s crack had become so huge that it could allow one person to pass through. The ray of light shining out through the gap was so sparkly and bright that Lu Mingshu’s eyes hurt by looking at it directly.

Both of them squeezed into the crack, and the scene that welcomed them made them do a double-take.

“This is….” Lu Mingshu muttered.

“A Yuan crystal mine!” Xie Lianzhen lowered his volume but still couldn’t hide his excitement.

There was a hill shaped like a gourd, and on the hillside, there were numerous large Yuan crystals. The crystals were extremely clear and smooth, easily the purest crystals that Lu Mingshu and Xie Lianzhen had ever seen in their lives. As the duo took a step closer, it sounded like something cracked under their feet. To their surprise, they were stepping on fragments of Yuan Crystals.

The both of them stood rooted to the ground; the scenery around them made them feel like they were in heaven.

Before they opened up the center of the spell formation, they already expected to see a Yuan crystal mine or something similar as the spell formation’s primary energy source. However, the scene in front of them was better than they had expected.

Xie Lianzhen looked around, his eyes wide with happiness, and smiled. “These Yuan crystals are more than enough for me to buy the whole seventh truth platform!”

This brought Lu Mingshu back to reality. “The center of the spell formation uses this Yuan crystal mine as its main energy source. If we touch it, the emperor will know.”

Xie Lianzhen realized it and sighed. “Such a pity.”

“Not a complete pity.” Lu Mingshu smiled. “We may not be able to take it with us, but using it here is fine.”

If what Xie Lianzhen said was right, this spell formation was used to raise life inside the formation. Xie Lianzhen meant that by making themselves a part of the spell, they blended in with the formation and acted as if they are part of the living creatures inside the formation. By doing this, the guard would not care about them and hunt them down as there was nothing wrong with the things they were rearing to grow bigger and healthier.

Spell formations were made up of many rules and regulations; all they had to do is follow them strictly. All the duo needed to do was learn the rules and adhere to them strictly.

The Yuan crystals were everywhere and filled the area with mystic force. How many times would they be able to something like this in their lives? If they did not make full use of this, it would be a waste.

“There seems to be a path here.” Lu Mingshu saw a hole that was as big as a person on the hillside. “Should we go in?”

“I’ll go first.” Xie Lianzhen stepped in front of Lu Mingshu and went in.

This hole was filled with Yuan crystals; you couldn’t even tell if there were more crystals or dirt.

“This…”

The tunnel opened into a narrow valley, about thirty hectares. It was a small valley, but there were numerous bizarre-looking plants that they had never seen in their lives before. There was even a tiny stream that extended down from the cliff wall.

Lu Mingshu looked up, and sunlight shone down through a crack in the rock.

~Wow, I would have never expected to see such a place inside the hill!~

Xie Lianzhen walked further down to a peculiar tree. The leaves were like needles, thin and sharp; they were also red in color.

“We have hit the jackpot! Xie Lianzhen whispered. “This must be the emperor’s secret garden, which grows rare herbs and plants using the force from the mystic crystal mine.”

“Keep your hands to yourself!” Lu Mingshu pulled him back. “The emperor will surely find out if his secret garden is missing anything.”

“It’s not a big deal.” Xie Lianzhen shrugged. “This garden is so secluded that I bet the emperor uses the spell formation to monitor this garden. We have already opened up the center of the formation; we only need to alter the contents slightly.”

“What if the emperor comes to get some herbs?” Lu Mingshu wanted to applaud him for being so daring.

“No worries.” Xie Lianzhen smiled mysteriously and pointed to the red-colored tree. “Look at this tree, it’s empty, and there aren’t any fruits. Same for the other plants, there aren’t any huge fruits left. That means he has been here not long ago to harvest them. It’s normal for the plants to only be ready for harvest after ten years or even longer. Since the emperor recently came, there’s no way he will be back in a short time.”

Xie Lianzhen paused before continuing. “Anyways, if he comes, he will realize that we are still alive and kill us then. So why not just take his stuff?”

~That actually makes sense!~

Lu Mingshu stared at him for a moment before nodding. “We should be careful for now and try to figure out what the spell formation does first.”

“Of course.” Xie Lianzhen had already rolled up his sleeves, ready to steal something. It’s been a long since I made medicine. The herbs here are so rare that I may not even be able to get them in ancient China!”

~Oh yeah, he is skilled in medicine!”

Xie Lianzhen was already running around the garden excitedly. “So many Yuan crystals and herbs here! With these, not only will we be able to recover quickly, but maybe we can break through to the spirit realm too….”

Lu Mingshu recalled that he had broken through to the spirit realm previously, but he regressed back to the harmonization realm again after his obsession. After so, he was always getting injured and never got a chance to break through to the spirit realm again. If he could do so now, it would be a good thing.

As for her, she had just entered the harmonization realm, and it’s not even been two years since then. It would be tough for her to breakthrough. But since Xie Lianzhen was so excited, she just let him be.”

~And if he likes medicine, I can exchange two formulas for him from the heavenly wheel? Since there are so many Yuan crystals here, it would be a waste if I don’t make use of them.~
