Pestilence: Rise Of The Pure Undead-Chapter 554: Sun And Sun
"Ah… Never did I ever imagine that this day would come- We really are one of the leading forces in this world now, aren't we?"
"I believe we have been ever since our conquest of Viridis, Your Majesty"
"Well, I suppose controlling an entire continent is all that matters"
The death force hanging in the air within the area was incredibly dense, the gathering of countless undeads, all here to watch as their glorious king stepped out of his own dominion to meet with living rulers, the rulers of this world, or at least, of the continents.
It was only natural for some worry to hang in the air, a sovereign outside of their domain, surrounded by life force and despicable livings, but it was unlikely for anything to happen, no one would take the risk to provoke an immediate conflict with the undead empire.
The undead empire may be nascent compared to the old monoliths who had ruled over their continent for thousands of years, but the undead completely submitted everything to their authority, nature was of undeath, their miasma reached from the highest to the lowest point of the territory, they ruled over parts of the oceans with the same ease as they did on dry land.
King Nitok did not only control two whole continents, the skies, seas and underground- All were under his hold, the population was wholly supportive to anything he could strive for, all undeads existed next to one another without any rivalry, considering that the ancient leaders wouldn't have agreed to a meeting without having gathered as much information as is possible, they would be well aware of it all.
And moreover, the king was well accompanied.
Körpersucher, still wearing the late Lylya's body as a flesh suit would coming along, his perfect possession gave the impression that he was just a living woman and not a crooked, misshapen ghost, normally, he also would have brought Dracula along as the vampire lord was the most diplomacy-adept of the bunch, but it seemed like the other leaders knew of vampires as they had insisted that the meeting would take place in broad daylight, and early during the day at that so that it wouldn't be setting any time soon.
Of course, no one had mentioned that casting an eclipse was sort of his specialty, it might have scared them off.
"This is rather exciting, I never rode a boat before, is it even still called a boat when it can submerge?" wondered Nitok.
Of course, the design of this special boat was a bit more modest than that of The Arbor as its purpose was for concealment and speed, to that end, the smaller it was, the better it would be at doing both simultaneously.
Körpersucher had never set foot on a ship before either, or floated around in one for that matter, naval matters were somewhat rare, in fact, the undead empire was probably the leading nation when it came to this sort of things, others would rather not bother with the leviathans, sea serpents and others horrors that dwelled in the deep, it was a dangerous gig, so at best ships would sail close to the shores, where the danger was lesser, having entire fleets scouring the areas beyond the miasma would be unthinkable for anyone else, though, this called into question how most of those leaders would even be getting to the island chosen to be the place of this meeting…
Walking into the iron ship, the number of people any leader had been permitted to bring alongside them was rather low and did not include any crew required to get them to the gathering, though, for Nitok, the limit of two was more than respected as this little piece of undead genius could operate itself.

Waving goodbye to all of his people that had gathered here, The Prince Of Death disappeared from view alongside his two bodyguards of sort, the ship sinking below water and quickly departing without much fanfare.
"I am very happy that you agreed to accompany me, much preferable to brooding all by your lonesome, don't you agree?"
"I am just curious what continental leaders look like… I have never even been to a continent apart from Viridis"
"Oh, so you aren't coming with me because you worry about my safety? I thought you were starting to not dislike me since you've been wearing the ring I gifted you" spoke the king.
"That's- It's just a nice ring"
"Perhaps, but I was pretty clear that it was an engagement ring, and I have never seen you wear any jewellery before-"
"Enough! Can you not be satisfied that I agreed to become an undead? You have to try to get in my pants as well? You sleazy pile of bones!"
"I mean… I did say that you could not accept the ring and since you did, I imagined that…"
"...You know, it's pretty telling- You say one thing, but your actions say the opposite" he added, his interlocutor crossing her arms and sliding further into her seat.
Considering that the meeting would be taking place under the light of a sun, having Maiele Liameilos around was great, it had taken quite a while, but she had eventually gave in to undeath, which had prompted Nitok to eventually follow through with what had probably been an off-hand remark at the time, and offer to take her as his wife, to make a radiant sun, The Princess Of Death.
Nitok thought that there was a nice ring to it all, the sun of darkness and sun of light joined together, it wasn't like he had ever disliked her anyways, not like Nitok disliked anyone at all in fact, neutral at worst.
However, the great elf wasn't making it easy, clearly, she wasn't opposed to the idea but was also playing hard to get anyways.
"What is the matter, Maiele? You can speak your mind" he asked.
The pink-haired elf just looked at him, then down.
"You're a skeleton"
"That I am"
"I respect you and your strength, I acknowledge that your dark is superior to my light, so I really don't mind if you want to take me as your wife or whatever… But clearly, something is missing"
"Mmh? Oh"
"There is no need for it though-"
"There absolutely is, in my culture, even if I rarely respect it, there is one thing that I believe in, and it's that when married, my purity should be taken, if you get what I mean"
"Furthermore, I have already lived for countless years as a virgin, an eternity as well? Whilst being supposedly married? Give me a break- You better have something suitable if you really want me"
"I'll figure something out- Can I introduce you as my wife at the meeting though?" he said, his hand taking the shape of the prayer of the church of death.
"What's the point of that?"
"Establish dominance, obviously, they'll see my bony self accompanied by a gorgeous elf that radiates light, that will instantly show them that I not only lead a powerful nation of undeath, but that I am also incredibly successful in other aspects!"
"That's stupid" replied Maiele.
"Yes, but you wouldn't believe how much value they will attribute to me as a result"
"Your Majesty, we are nearing our destination"
"Already? Loimos wasn't joking around when he said that this thing was fast"
