Peaceful Farm Life-Chapter 1134 - 1135: Intensify Efforts
Chapter 1134: Chapter 1135: Intensify Efforts
"This is fate, Ye Zi, you might as well accept it," An Jing joked as she led the four little ones away to play somewhere else. Once they had enough of playing with the rope, naturally, they would find something else to play with.
"Boss!" Seeing An Jing not competing with her anymore, Ye Zhi wanted to chase after and fight with Gong Jue Chen again.
It was all that idiot Gong Jue Chen’s fault!
At that moment, Gong Jue Chen also turned around. That alone would have been fine, but not only did he turn around, he also looked utterly composed, which was particularly annoying.
Seeing Gong Jue Chen like that, Ye Zhi naturally got angry again and chased after him to beat him up. Unfortunately, she couldn’t catch up with Gong Jue Chen and thus couldn’t hit him.
Even worse, Gong Jue Chen actually ran out of the mansion.
Ye Zhi chased him to the mansion entrance but didn’t know which way Gong Jue Chen had gone, so she stopped chasing.
But she was still pretty angry.
It was such a good opportunity to beat her boss...
Ye Zhi genuinely felt it was both regrettable and infuriating.
Meanwhile, Gong Jue Chen, who had run out and was now walking on the streets of the Imperial Capital, didn’t feel regretful or furious at all; he found it especially amusing. No matter how Ye Zhi looked, he discovered that he quite enjoyed teasing her.
When he thought Ye Zhi was ugly, he teased her; now that Ye Zhi had become beautiful, his teasing naturally intensified.
But, really, Ye Zhi’s reactions were super interesting.
Much more so than when Tobanya coldly wouldn’t speak a word to him.
Thinking of this, a smile crept onto Gong Jue Chen’s face and lit up his peach-blossom eyes, unbeknownst to him.
Ye Zhi was still fuming, so he decided not to go back just yet. He would wait until she had cooled down a bit. He guessed she probably wouldn’t beat him up then, at most she would just dislike him a little more.
"Dislike more..."
Those three words had just popped into his mind when Gong Jue Chen frowned. He did not like those words.
Before he could think further, someone blocked his path and stood in front of him.
And that person blocking his path, he recognized—it was his uncle, Han Xinche.
"Chenglin," Han Xinche called him.
Upon hearing this, Gong Jue Chen knew that Han Xinche realized he was Su Chenglin; however, he had no intention of admitting it.
Laughing, he said, "General Han, what a coincidence."
Han Xinche didn’t wear a playful smile like Gong Jue Chen; his expression was particularly serious, and even clasping Gong Jue Chen’s shoulders, somewhat excitedly, he called out again, "Chenglin."
Gong Jue Chen feigned ignorance and blinked, "General Han, why do you keep calling me Chenglin?"
Han Xinche grew even more excited, "Chenglin, I am your uncle, Chenglin."
Gong Jue Chen looked even more baffled, "General Han, you must have mistaken me for someone else. I am Gong Jue Chen. General Han, you’ve met me before, haven’t you forgotten?"
Han Xinche didn’t immediately respond; instead, he pulled Gong Jue Chen into a nearby alley, where another person was waiting—Han Xin Rui.
"Chenglin!" Han Xin Rui became even more excited upon seeing Gong Jue Chen.
"This isn’t the place to talk; let’s go to General Han’s mansion," Han Xinche, still more rational, said, and without caring whether Gong Jue Chen agreed or not, he dragged Gong Jue Chen off to General Han’s mansion.
Once at General Han’s mansion, Han Xinche and Han Xin Rui brought Gong Jue Chen into a room they considered especially safe.
It was then that Han Xinche spoke again, "The imperial consort’s maid Ling’er has already told us, saying someone who looks a lot like our elder sister went to see her. She even checked the birthmark on that person’s back and is certain it’s our elder sister’s son."
