PAMPERED BY MY THREE BROTHERS: THE RETURN OF THE NEGLECTED HEIRESS-Chapter 1821: RUN!
Chapter 1821: RUN!
HONK!!!
Deep lines appeared between everyone’s foreheads, both groups wondering if those honks were from their side. After all, the truck looked like just one of those Nathalie had looted from the mansion.
At the third honk, all they heard next was a sharp yet silent "phew" followed by a thud.
Everyone intuitively turned to where the thud came from, only to see one of Nathalie’s men fall.
"It’s the enemy!" A shout rang out, and everyone drew their weapons, immediately opening fire.
At the same time, the incoming truck rammed through the closed gates. With its speed, it veered to the side, running over a handful of the enemy.
"The truck!" Someone yelled, but the truck drifted around, hitting more of them. The second it stopped, bullets started spewing from the back as the people inside—members of the Shadow Order who were with Penny—began firing at Nathalie’s men.
Angel dragged one man and pulled him to his side. At the same time, someone shot at Angel. The bullet quickly hit the man he’d dragged before Angel shot back.
"Near the truck!" he roared. "Take cover behind it!"
Mark, on the other hand, had just taken down three enemies at once. When he heard Angel, he quickly drew his weapon and shot at the person who was aiming at Angel.
BANG!
Angel turned to him, then to where the rifle was pointed. All he saw was an enemy falling.
"Uh, thanks!" he nodded at Mark, but the latter didn’t speak. Before the two of them could continue, they suddenly heard a very familiar voice.
"Mark~! Devil~!"
"Huh?" Both men perked up and turned to where the sound was coming from, only to see Penny in the truck’s driver’s seat. Her arm rested on the rolled-down window, smiling at them like a playboy about to pick up some ladies.
"Get in~!" she yelled sweetly, slapping the outside of the door. "Fast!"
Angel and Mark’s eyes widened upon seeing her, but instead of relief, they just shook their heads. Why? Because Penny’s face was all red, and after working with her for a fair amount of time, they didn’t want to deal with that red-faced Penny.
Meaning, they didn’t want to ride with a drunk Penny behind the wheel.
BANG!
Just then, Shawn, who was in the front passenger seat with her, shot someone from behind the two. His rifle was just inches from Penny’s front, the muzzle on top of the rolled-down window.
"Come on~!" Penny yelled, unfazed by the rifle before her. When they hadn’t moved toward her but instead fled from the enemies, she frowned.
"Shawn, sit tight," she muttered in irritation, and Shawn, at this point, automatically grabbed the handle. He pressed his body into the seat, almost fusing with it.
Since Penny got behind the wheel, everyone’s soul was still trying to catch up to them. How the hell were they here when, at normal speed, it would have taken them much longer?
Revving up the truck, dark smoke billowed from its exhaust. Those who had taken shelter under the truck’s body jolted as the tires started screeching in place.
"Shit—" the person underneath quickly crawled out, but it was too late.
The truck started driving, and he could only ball up his body in a fetal position.
"Shit!" he screamed through gritted teeth, his entire body trembling. "No, no, not—fuck...!"
How could he not tremble in fear when the truck just moved back and forth at first, but now was spinning—drifting while he was still under it?! Everyone could see him with every spin, but the situation wasn’t enough to make them stop and wonder.
Not when the driver seemed to have a diabolical plan. freewebnσvel.cѳm
"RUN!!!"
Shouts from both forces rang out as they sensed the danger. A crossfire would give them more chances of surviving, but a truck?! So, it didn’t matter if they were Penny’s allies or enemies—she scared the hell out of them.
"RUN!!!"
Screech!
Just then, the truck stopped, but still revved its engine. In a snap, the truck started driving, heading straight to the most crowded area.
"Shit, shit—" one man hissed, jogging away along with countless others.
"Miss Penny! We’re also here! Don’t kill your allies!" one of her men shouted, sprinting away as the truck also came at them. "SHIIIIIT!"
Others, who knew they couldn’t outrun it, shouted, "Shoot its tires!"
But to no avail.
Even when they stopped and just started shooting the tires, their bullets missed. On top of that, those who were shooting from the side were taken down by members of the Shadow Order. Meanwhile, some who were away from the truck’s path couldn’t help because they were fighting the others as well.
In the end, all they saw were bodies flying or rolling under their tires like insects.
Their bodies hitting the front of it cracked with a sickening crunch than the gunfire. And for a second, everyone just stopped. Holding their breath, they eyed the truck with wide eyes.
But they weren’t the only ones shocked to the core; Shawn, who was inside the truck with Penny, was too.
Slowly, Shawn turned to Penny. His eyes were wide, his complexion a little pale after spinning so much. But above all...
"Miss Penny, what happened to ’the girl gotta stay out of prison’?" he blurted out.
Penny blinked, then raised her hand over her mouth. "Oops. Please don’t tell them I’m the one behind the wheel."
EVERYONE KNEW SHE WAS BEHIND THE WHEEL!
"..." Shawn blinked and then blinked before loud gunfire hit their windshield. She and Penny intuitively ducked, even though they both knew it was bulletproof.
When he looked up at her, he nodded. "I think this is justified."
"Shawn, you owe me," Penny shamelessly opened the door and to him. "You drive. I go find my husband."
With that, she jumped off the driver’s seat, leaving Shawn with his mouth agape.
"You can’t just do that and leave—Miss Penny! Your gun!" His breath hitched, but he quickly recovered. Shawn crawled his way to the driver’s seat, pulling down the window again.
Instead of doing what Penny did—he wasn’t as unhinged—he used the truck to cover for her. After all, Penny wasn’t even armed!
"God..." he hissed, his eyes fixed only on Penny and no one else. He drove with one hand, then shot with the other. "If this is her punishment—I get it now! I’m sorry!"
Because ever since Penny finished her "concert," his stress level was at the red line for how reckless she was.
