Chapter B4 Ch17: The End Begins

“Yo, gason, let me talk to you real quick,” said the Funnest, just when Zarian finished combining his spells.

Hearing the Funnest wasn’t the surprising part for Zarian. When he turned and actually saw the old Ultra God, Zarian’s mind went blank from the sheer shock. Then the shock grew even further when Racella turned with him and saw the old one as well. Zarian couldn’t help but confirm with a point of his finger.

“Are you seeing him?”

“Yes, milord. I’m … not sure if I should be. I can physically see him. But my powers are blind to him otherwise.” The Level 299 Champion Ranker shuddered, her elf ears lowering, her lip quivering. Racella was out of her depths here as all three floated over the destruction of a continent-sized landmass. “Who is this man, milord?”

“Jay Luckrun, young lady. The one. The only. The first.” Grandpa Jay looked like an older version of Zarian, but with gray dreadlocks and a few wrinkles on his dark face. He was tall, muscular, and dressed in a hoodie with the hood down. The dark blue jeans and sneakers seemed ridiculously out of place.

He was wearing that on purpose to prove his otherworldliness. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

“We shouldn’t be seeing you,” Zarian said, as the power of Lion Prince raged around him. “What changed?”

Grandpa Jay walked up to them, treating the air like it was a floor. His eyes spun with brilliant gold, purple, and dark lights, all ethereal and beyond otherworldly.

When he stopped in front of them, Racella shifted around and curled behind Zarian. Then, a new presence entered the equation as Zarian’s wedding ring bit the flesh on his finger and made his blood ooze down along with dark tears. Zarian used his aura and magic to protect Racella as his wife formed out of tears and blood.

“You’re not supposed to interfere this heavily?” Lucy hissed. “Everyone’s seeing you. This is going to trigger Ariana and make things harder.”

Something from behind the old man flicked into view. It looked like a monkey tail. Zarian’s lion tail flicked aggressively. His blood boiled. His heart rate picked up. The urge to fight grew greater inside him.

“We had another talk,” Grandpa Jay said. “All four leaders of the dynasty. Me, the Greatest, the Strongest, and the Biggest. We’ve concluded we can’t let our own blood rampage any further than this. Our love is unconditional, but even love can’t blind us to the atrocities we couldn’t reverse.”

“He and Ariana haven’t gone on a rampage yet!” Lucy shouted.

“Chill out,” Zarian growled.

“No! They’re interfering! And this is my first time getting involved! I need more time to make an impact.”

“I get that, but I don’t think he’s going to interfere now, right, old man? This is a warning for if I lose it again, isn’t it?” Zarian stared Jay down, face-to-face.

The old man studied him. Then he chuckled, his accent thickening. “Of course, of course. This is a warning. And a chance to explain things.”

Grandpa Jay rotated in the air and waved his arm at the surrounding world of mega continental thrones and howling winds. “The Infinita Star System wasn’t originally our universe. It was as a small experiment by the children of some old Ultra God I’d ended up killing a short time ago. We took it and other separate universes partially under our wing in a loose multiverse cluster. It’s where we can let some of you kids figure yourselves out before allowing you up into the Ultraverse.”

“Partially?” Zarian called out.

“Your dynasty is sharing it with others across the Ultraverse,” Lucy explained. “Such as with my family, or with Cal Everclaw’s dynasty. Universe systems aren’t as restricted compared to multiverse systems. The Ultraverse System is more particular about multiverse systems. Anything below that is under the mercy of the dynasties.” ɽαΝΟ𝐁Èᶊ

“Yeah, which brought us some trouble when you occasionally break into multiverse systems.” The old man scratched the side of his head with his tail. “I have to wait for the moment that’s peak or the most unsuspected before I can get control of the situation and do damage control. But there are some damages that can’t be reversed. We got lucky with the last crash out. But we all know the next one is probably going to leave permanent damage.”

“Oh, okay, so we’re going there. We’re actually talking about this.” Zarian scratched at his scalp under his bombastic hat. The power of his Lion Prince skill was kicking up a notch as reality-bending magic condensed around this area most. A great change was coming, and the consequences of such meant Zarian had less room and less time to fool around. “This is the beginning of the end, isn’t it?”

Grandpa Jay nodded. “There’s a limit to how often I can rewind and fix things. The amount of people you and your sister have killed is staggering. Far more than when I was your age, that’s for sure. So, no jars. If you screw up again, I’ll risk your parents’ anger and kill you two for good. Starting with Ariana.”

Zarian unlocked twenty percent darkness and launched a beam that carved across the surface and the sky of the Mega World. He centered it on Grandpa Jay, but he already knew it wouldn’t hit. Still, Zarian unleashed his anger with a roar as Overwhelming Darkness tried to rip him apart from the inside out. But he clamped down on it through Lion Prince and through his own sheer Willpower.

When he stopped, the devastation left behind was stratospheric, as if he left a superheated track mark across the world, reaching beyond the horizon. His notifications filled up with those he’d slain, and his levels and power shot up. The achievements rained in, but for once, Zarian didn’t bother looking at them. He accepted them as he went.

“I’m … still alive,” Racella said from behind Zarian.

Lucy’s inky body faded even as her voice lingered. “You’ve avoided the innocent. How did you do that?”

Zarian looked down at the palm he’d shoved the twenty percent beam out of. Even with his anger, he’d focused on using sorcery and his lion skill to make breaks in the darkness. There were lines of untouched land where innocent world inhabitants lived. It must’ve been miraculous to experience in what should’ve been an all-destructive moment.

“I love my little sister. Unconditionally,” Zarian said. “She’s evil as hell. She wants to go rampage and screw things up. But she’s my family, just like how I belong to Grandpa Jay’s family tree. And if he’s set on killing us if we screw up again, then I’m set on saving us before it comes to that.”

Zarian took a deep breath and looked up at the alien sky. He took another deep breath and centered himself. Then he nodded to himself, accepting the changes that were to come and the responsibility growing greater on his shoulders. Yeah, it was time he stopped fooling around. It was time to get serious.

“First things first.” Zarian turned around. “Unlock One Hundred Percent Berserk.”

It was also time to live up to being part of the freedom alignment, regardless of the consequences. His next decision might’ve had a push from Lion Prince, but it felt right with Zarian.

So, he freed Para at long last.

In the opposite direction of the overwhelming destruction, a monstrous scream ripped across the skies. Then, a part of the Mega World turned red with crowding phantom faces and gnashing teeth howling and biting at reality. That was Para losing her control over herself. Zarian quickly cast a spell to shunt her into the void despite the distance. It should hold her for a while and avoid needless deaths. Or at least give him long enough for him to deal with Cal Everclaw.

“ARE WE DOING THIS? WE CAN FINALLY GO ALL OUT?” roared Cal, the beast-like man clawing through the skies at rapid speeds. He must’ve zeroed in on Zarian because of that huge outburst.

He shot straight in, forcing the wizard to void-teleport Racella out of there and somewhere safer.

The Infinita System was making a big fuss over the sudden change of events. The other systems were getting involved, even if it brought cataclysmic damages to each other. The tournament was teetering on the brink of breaking completely. But none of that was Zarian’s main concern. He was more focused on what was happening inside of him as his darkness raged and fought to break free.

Then Cal Everclaw was all over him.

“I guess it’s time for me to get serious,” Bianca said, standing on a mountain peak in the middle of the elven continent back on Corma.

There were some cubic doohickeys placed on the mountainous rock around her. They were gifts from Hannah that helped with Bianca’s aura recovery, one of her greatest weaknesses. Other than that, the Mythical Radiant Queen looked stunning and irreproachable.

Multicolored wings made of freedom and light flapped from behind her. Numerous swords of light floated in the surrounding air. She even wore a dress that went with her boots made of resplendent light. In her hands were two luminescent sabers, her hair waving in the wind, as she looked up at the biggest evil to threaten the world.

Over Bianca’s head, Ruvaria floated in the sky with a darkness that spread like spilled oil. Bianca knew what it was because of her obscenely high Wonder stat and buffs to Wonder. That and Ruvaria wasn’t trying to hide the power she’d gained from her relationship with Zarian.

Absolute Darkness.

“My dear, please step aside and let me end my blood once and for all,” Ruvaria requested sweetly, pools of darkness spiraling around her. She still looked like a young, lithe, and beautiful elven woman while dressed in dark Halloween colors. More witch-like than anything.

Bianca approved of the fashion choices even if it was too gothic for her taste. In her opinion, if a woman was going to be a baddie, then she’d ought to look like one.

“You wouldn’t be acting out like this if Zarian were here,” Bianca said, smirking. “You’re too cute for this. Come now. Let’s stop and head back home. And look, I’ve freed most of the elves from the old, icky good alignment. They’re free to be whatever they want!”

Ruvaria chuckled. “That’s lovely, Bianca. But that doesn’t take away from the sin of our past. A reckoning is in order. A sacrifice to wipe the slate clean. I’m certain about that.”

“You can’t remove guilt with more killing, Abuela Ruvaria. You do it by finding peace and love. And when you fight, you fight to protect and help others. Or even to help yourself.” Bianca waved her swords around. “There are children and elderly and innocent elves here. And they have amazing fashion senses and tasty treats! Please spare them!”

Ruvaria smiled softly. “No.”

Bianca shot upward like a ray of light. All of her swords went flying with her. There was no choice. The only way to get through to Ruvaria was to fight! And to do so with love and goodness in her heart. Bianca’s power shot up even further, making her the strongest she’d ever been.

Yet, Ruvaria’s power dwarfed her as they clashed for the first time for real. No more little games. There was only one game they could play now.

The whirling darkness blocked off hundreds of scouring light blades like a kingdom-sized shield. The roar from the collision could be heard across the world. The nearest structures, forests, and landmarks beneath them ended up flattened from the sheer force.

The elves had already evacuated underground, even if it meant they had to dig far down below and deal with the monsters lurking there. There was no choice, because there would be more impacts to come between Bianca and Ruvaria. Whatever remained of the elven continent would be unrecognizable by the time they were done.

As Zarian fought another Ultra God, and as Bianca faced off against Ruvaria head-to-head, somewhere deep underground near New Florida, Naomi Washington stirred. Her body remained wrapped in sorcerous bindings and many other high-quality items, preserving her as she underwent her tribulation. As calamities after calamities stirred across the Infinita Star System, Naomi’s fingers and toes twitched. Her heart rate picked up. And she jerked again suddenly before going still.

Perhaps she wasn’t ready to wake up yet.
