Chapter B4 Ch12: Purgehunt Child

Agni the Sky Flame Storm, Son of Purgehunt, was no fool.

The moment he sensed the likes of the dark monstrosity near his secluded sanctum, he knew that the man-shaped fiend and his rabid familiar had to be destroyed by any means.

He knew who the creature was.

Who hadn’t at this point?

But a wise godling oracle told him it was best to play dumb and to hide his intent if one were to engage with creatures of pure and utter madness. That was the true nature of Dark Emperor Zarian Darkrun.

Madness!

And Agni swore it upon his own divinity that he would be the one to vanquish the Dark Emperor.

There was an opportunity to strike while the Dark Emperor was making changes to his profile, but doing so would weaken Agni instead of bringing the full might of his divine godling powers to bear. It was a shame to wait and allow the fiend time to make preparations, but Agni was doing the same as well.

He wasn’t a Level 208 Evildoer Purger of the Champion Rank for no reason.

Then the moment of truth finally arrived when both the Dark Emperor and his grotesque minion burst with sudden power. Their auras shot up. Their evil abilities tainted the white salt throne, desecrating a monumental piece of Mega World Hashmal’s history.

It was then that Agni released the power he’d been holding in secret.

“Purgehunt’s Burning Judgment Smite Beam!” Agni shouted.

The +4 skill rushed through his divine body with a heat that was like the surface of the sun. His blood was already a plasma that wouldn’t boil easily. But the sheer power of the skill made Agni’s insides feel like they were going to evaporate, especially with him channeling the power of his father.

His entire body flashed white. And from his hand, the white-hot beam came down in a torrent the size of Agni’s head, packing enough power to demolish most of the white salt throne.

There was no dodging this.

The smite skill evaporated the use of void-related powers in its presence.

Any shield that tried to stand up against it would be immolated in a flash.

They could have all the Strength available to Master Rankers, but it wouldn’t be enough.

Their vitality wouldn’t be enough.

If the Dark Emperor dared to use aura to manipulate the smite beam skill, that too would fail.

Better yet, Agni had the traits for canceling outright destruction. He could turn the end results into a sealing technique that would put the Dark Emperor away. For a long, long time. ⱤАŊŏꞖЕᶊ

Before impact, the appearance of the Dark Emperor and his hideous minion became confusing, Non-Euclidean, eldritch, and hard to grasp, like they were shadowy-void beings masquerading as humanoids.

This shouldn’t be possible because of Agni’s divine traits, but the Dark Emperor’s nature was madness incarnate. The insanity of his existence only grew greater when the scaly minion reached forward with one palm and slammed her hand into the tip of the smite beam.

Numerous sorcery circles flashed into appearance on her, enhancing her, toughening her, making her impossible defense against the smiting beam more of a reality.

Agni gaped in horror as the seat of the white salt throne became obliterated from around the pair. Yet, the two remained undaunted at the center of the destruction.

Broken beams splitting away from the main beam sliced through the throne, the golden ravines below, and further around the mega landscape. By the time it was over, most of the throne was obliterated, and the evil pair remained in the air.

“You okay there, Para?” the Dark Emperor asked.

The monstrous woman flicked her tail and looked down at the demolished hand. There was only a blackened nub remaining, the only sign that Agni had delivered any damage whatsoever.

“Pretty strong.” Para’s hungry glowing green eyes flicked toward Agni. “The morsel called out to Purgehunt. Perhaps he’s affiliated. Maybe even family?”

A shiver went down Agni’s spine. He exploded back into action, leaving behind his rideable cloud.

He started up his Sky-Fire Dominion +4, turned aura into a scorching plasma that he wore as a long mantle extending from his shoulders. The mantle flowed back like a skyward cape that reached far behind him. With this skill active, anything evil would feel weaker in his presence while making Agni even stronger!

He needed to charge up the smite beam skill before he could unleash it again, so he summoned his Storm-Crown Ascendant +4. Once the crackling halo appeared on his head, all of his stats went up even further.

Then he tossed down projectiles using his Solar Lance Barrage +3. Each one was packed with enough power to annihilate hundreds of Master Rankers. Dozens of these lances fell upon the Dark Emperor to reduce him and seal him.

Two abominations appeared from nowhere, each one fading into existence near the original evil pair. Agni recognized them as nephalem – half angel, half devil, and deific enough that they could endure Agni’s attacks.

Their fifteen-foot chiseled gray bodies, held aloft by dozens of feathery and bat-like wings, soaked the raining lances as glorified meat shields for the pair. It was almost disturbing that the Dark Emperor would toss out two of these grand mythical creatures like it was a simple feat!

No matter. Agni’s attacks would break down the nephalem soon enough and–

The Dark Emperor and the predatory Para unleashed another spell that gave way to new horrors. Both nephalem let out horrid screams before twisting and morphing into grotesque titans filled with abhorrent power and berserk cores.

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

And if that wasn’t terrible enough, the Dark Emperor mixed the taint of Enhanced Shadowfell Tears into the creatures. Agni watched with horror as the godforsaken and corrupted mutants flapped their fleshy, odd-numbered wings and soared straight at him. They soaked more damage from his solar lances while charging like unstoppable battering rams.

With a roar, Agni used his movement skills, Thunderbolt King Pursuit +4 and Celestial Windsworn Step +4.

With these skills combined, he dashed on a bolt of lightning and made quick, graceful, and windy micro adjustments with his steps. He weaved around the polymorphed and corrupted nephalem abominations and went straight for the wizard himself.

It was obvious that the Dark Emperor lacked the physical capabilities of his summons. Using traits alone, Agni shaped a smiting blade in his hand to cut the Dark Emperor down to an inch of his life before having him sealed away.

The monster woman got in his way, her reddish flesh turning dark suddenly. Then her body became a gateway to the void as a flood of hideous monsters spilled out to drive Agni mad.

He sliced through and diced apart the eldritch horde and left them squealing and dying to his smiting blade. That wasn’t good enough. He lost track of Para and only regained vision of her when her knuckles glanced across his cheek.

Agni’s head snapped away from the powerful force of the touching blow. If that had landed flush, he would’ve been sent far across the mega landscape.

“I’m not a sitting target.” The Dark Emperor. He was occupying Agni’s flank suddenly.

His words registered just when the Dark Emperor released a combination blast of sorcery, spell craft, and horrid dark magic that nearly tore Agni’s head off.

The Sky Flame Storm was just fast enough to move like a thunderbolt and weave around like the gusting winds. His sky-fire mantle flowed through the air like a plasma current with him as he repositioned behind the Dark Emperor.

Agni thrust his smiting plasma sword into the fiend’s back.

The Dark Emperor morphed from the shape of a dark and muscular man to the four-armed, red-scaled woman. Agni’s eyes widened as the devious Para swatted his thrust aside with screeching magic that resisted his smiting power.

Meanwhile, the real Dark Emperor appeared to the side with palms combined and thrust forward, shooting a horrid dark magic beam. It landed squarely on Agni’s torso, thrashing him backwards far, far, far across the landscape until he struck a vast throne of burned wood.

Agni growled as he dug himself out of the burned wood throne. He floated into the air on his own power, his sky-fire mantle fluttering behind him, his storm crown crackling as a thunderous halo on his head.

Before him, the air became thick with pouring horrors crawling out of void rifts that slashed open across the Mega World air. More and more void rifts appeared, and more and more eldritch abominations breached the sanctuary that was his home.

Then the situation only worsened as the Dark Emperor polymorphed and corrupted each of the eldritch monstrosities. They became bigger, more twisted, more berserk, more powerful. They became toys of Zarian Darkrun and Evil Goddess Shadowfell. The legion seemed endless as Angi faced off against them.

“No!” Agni roared. “I won’t let you have your way, DARK EMPEROR!”

“Ah, so you do know who I am? Good. That makes it all more fun for me.”

Agni swore under his breath, knowing he’d made a huge mistake. The oracle had warned him not to acknowledge the Dark Emperor. Doing so only strengthened him, as if he fed off of the attention like how some divine beings would feed off of worship.

Agni believed himself a warrior godling, one born with divinity who would sharpen it even further on his way upward. He cared not for tricks. He would fight his problems head on.

“Fine then!” Agni shifted with arms outstretched. “Let me show you my true power! Let me show you what happens when you face the sons and daughters of the GOOD GODS! Purgehunt’s Burning Judgment Smite Beam!”

The charge he’d worked up exited him in one great, bright rush. Numerous creatures that were about to crash into him slowed their assault in the face of this great skill.

But Agni wasn’t sending it forth against them. Not directly.

Instead, the beam came to exist like a bar going to the right and left. Then, with meticulous control made possible by his divinity and traits, Agni froze the three mile-long beam until it was like a scorching staff.

With one sweep, Agni obliterated a thousand of the ugly army pitted against him. He swept around again and again, destroying them like he was burning flies out of the sky.

Nothing remained of the ugly things, either. The air became scrubbed of the abominations’ taint as Agni spiraled around his smiting bo-staff.

“Okay, I must admit, that was cool. But here’s my response,” said the Dark Emperor. “Twenty Master Locks Sealing Style: Unlock Ten Percent Darkness.”

There was a metaphysical sound of an immense lock snapping open. Then Agni shivered as the sky behind the Dark Emperor and his scaly defender became darkened beyond dark.

It was scarier than the void. It was an immense entity lying in wait that wanted to consume the world, consume the stars, and eat everything.

Even with it held at only ten percent of its true power, Agni wasn’t sure if he could win against that much.

“Woo! Alright! Man! I’m getting better at this!” The Dark Emperor cheered, his voice booming from every dark corner, every shade, every spot that could hold shadows.

His voice boomed loudest from the dark-clad sky that he tainted with his overwhelming power. “I gotta admit, I was a little scared when I pushed my luck there … but it wasn’t that bad. Hey! I got an idea. Let’s go a little further. How about it?!”

“Do it! Do it! Push even further, Father!” Para cheered like some easily impressed little girl.

“NO!” Agni rushed ahead into the darkness to interrupt the Dark Emperor. He couldn’t afford to let the monster unleash more of himself. “You will be sealed, Dark Emperor!”

Para appeared in his path.

This time, she wasn’t unarmed. She held a giant sword made of void and darkness.

Agni clashed with her while also swinging his smiting staff. He fought off Para and warded away the tendrils of creeping darkness trying to ensnare him from all directions. When his divine power and birthright collided with the giant void-darkness sword, the magic of the Mega World thinned, drawing closer to tearing a large hole in reality.

Agni pushed onward anywhere, moving his arms over his head, spiraling the smiting staff to slash through the dark tentacles, the reaching monsters of the void, and the madness that surrounded him while bringing down his fury upon Para.

They clashed and clashed again, sparks of divine magic and dark madness spitting and screaming between them.

Agni kept bolting around and striding on the wind to gain an advantage. Para moved with a force of magical and physical will that threw her around like an unstoppable juggernaut. The more they fought, the more aggressive she became, the angrier she became, to where she hissed and growled and chomped her teeth as if it was disrespectful of him to not become easy prey for her.

And the longer this fight kept up, the more Agni felt pushed, as if he was being cornered.

The desperation was setting, and Agni’s aura was waning. It didn’t help that the air was filled with cursed magic and debilitating sorceries and horrid spells trying to bring him down, debuffing him, weakening him.

He was burning aura so fast it was shocking. But he had no choice. He had to keep defending himself physically and magically as the Dark Emperor and his pet monstress seemed to have no end to their power.

Then the impossible happened.

Para smashed down on his smiting staff so hard both of their weapons erupted. Agni found himself thrown backwards very far, crashing through an entire throne monument before hitting the edge of the golden ravines on the ground.

He was battered, bruised, and down on vitality.

This was the perfect time for him to use his most dangerous trump card: Purge Child Wrath Reprisal +4. All the damage he’d accrued became extra wrath energy that he could burn to empower one big purging attack.

The moment Para slammed down, her drooling mouth spreading wide with joyous hunger, Agni smiled in return. He burned power to move far faster than he’d shown.

He found Zarian in the center of his darkness. The emperor was lounging on a personal throne made from his wicked power as if he could get away with being lazy.

Agni shouted the words for extra power while ensuring his traits for sealing were active. “PURGE CHILD WRATH REPRISAL!”

“Unlock Thirteen Percent Darkness.”
