Out of Control: Into Your Everything-Chapter 86: Collision
She pondered for a moment, then tentatively asked, "Are you upset about what Zoe Sutton said just now?"
Jasper Spencer’s jawline tightened, and he responded with a low, deep "Mmm."
Scarlett Shaw raised an eyebrow, "I didn’t realize you’re quite sensitive."
"I’ve liked her for so many years, and yet to her, I’m still just a tool she finds useful whenever she wants. How can I not be annoyed?"
Scarlett Shaw: "I think you enjoy it too. When she torments you, you can just walk away. Since you choose not to, just deal with it."
Jasper Spencer: "..."
Though Scarlett Shaw’s words were sharp, sometimes when people act foolishly, getting jabbed in the heart doesn’t hurt as much.
Jasper Spencer is a perfect example.
Honestly, he was feeling quite frustrated, but Scarlett Shaw’s words were like small needles, each word pricking his heart, creating holes and releasing his anger, which actually made him feel a bit better.
Jasper Spencer couldn’t help but glance at Scarlett Shaw in the front passenger seat a few times, then suddenly said with a grin, "It really is Julian Ford’s loss that he’s not into you."
Scarlett Shaw: "..."
This jerk really deserves to be a backup.
"But you do have a boyfriend, your boyfriend should be quite lucky. It’s just a pity we won’t see Julian Ford play third wheel for love," Jasper Spencer continued.
Scarlett Shaw rubbed her temples in frustration, thinking that the issue of her imaginary boyfriend kept coming up with Jasper Spencer, like a haunting spirit. So she briefly clarified the truth.
After listening for quite some time, Jasper Spencer finally asked, "So, you’re actually single now?"
Scarlett Shaw looked at him warily, "Anyway, you heard today, to Julian Ford, I’m insignificant. If you’re planning to target him, don’t drag me into it. I won’t play along."
Jasper Spencer glanced at her thoughtfully.
Scarlett Shaw didn’t want to continue staying with Jasper Spencer, and asked him to stop the car, but Jasper Spencer not only didn’t stop, he actually stepped on the gas, speeding up.
Twenty minutes later, the sports car stopped outside a large venue, and Scarlett Shaw looked up at the advertising board outside, surprised, "Why did you bring me to a racetrack?"
Jasper Spencer got out of the car first, opened the door for her, raising an eyebrow, "There’s a race soon, I’m giving you a chance to witness my glory."
Jasper Spencer’s words sounded quite narcissistic at first.
However, given his sleek and wild driving skills, Scarlett Shaw had no doubt about his racing prowess.
She had never seen live racing before and was somewhat curious, so she didn’t hesitate and got out of the car, following Jasper Spencer into the venue.
Jasper Spencer smoothly changed into his racing suit; his muscular body looked better in racing gear than in a suit. Now he was focused on business, even his expression becoming serious.
A man full of wildness, focused brow and eyes, like a beast ready to pounce.
Scarlett Shaw sincerely said, "Jasper Spencer, if you didn’t open your mouth, you’d actually be quite handsome."
Jasper Spencer’s lips curled as he held the helmet under his arm, eyes confidently blazing, "There’s even more to it, just don’t fall in love with me."
Scarlett Shaw: "Rest assured, even in your dreams, that won’t be happening."
Jasper Spencer laughed heartily twice, just about to put on his helmet when a staff member nearby said to Scarlett Shaw, "Miss, you’re Jasper’s girlfriend? It’s time to give your boyfriend a lucky kiss!"
Scarlett hadn’t even answered when Jasper Spencer paused, looked at her with interest, and said, "How about a lucky kiss?"
Scarlett Shaw moved her lips, wanting to say something but holding back.
Jasper Spencer: "What do you want to say?"
Scarlett Shaw: "You’re so greasy."
Jasper Spencer: "..."
The slightly suggestive atmosphere was completely dashed by Scarlett’s four words.
Jasper Spencer honestly put on his helmet, bent down, and sat in the race car, and as soon as the countdown ended, the car shot out like an arrow.
As Scarlett looked in the direction of Jasper Spencer’s car, she suddenly felt a cool gaze fall on her back, making her turn instinctively, but there were only racing suit-clad drivers around, none she knew.
Just as she was about to withdraw her gaze, one tall, helmeted driver in a white racing suit walked towards her direction.
Though the drivers wore different suits, to Scarlett Shaw, they all seemed tightly wrapped, indistinguishable from one another.
Only this approaching driver had an inexplicably unique aura, both intriguing and distant.
Scarlett Shaw naturally stepped aside to give way.
The person brushed past her, their aura cold, walking straight to the car parked at the start.
Scarlett heard someone behind her discussing, "The modification fee for that car must be over a billion, right? Who’s that, never seen him before."
"What’s the point of spending so much if the skills aren’t there, such a waste of top components."
"With Jasper Spencer here today, it’s basically a foregone conclusion, too dull."
Hearing this, Scarlett Shaw took a few more looks at the billion-dollar car. The race driver got into the car, suddenly turned, seemingly looking her way.
However, the person’s gaze quickly returned to the front.
Once the countdown ended, the car sped out like lightning.
Though it was just a recreational race, the atmosphere was intense, cheers and applause constant, with passionate live commentary. Although Scarlett Shaw was an outsider, she couldn’t help being swept by the atmosphere, joining the crowd in cheering.
Jasper Spencer didn’t care much about rankings; he enjoyed the thrill of racing on the track.
Not only was he fast, but his racing style was quite entertaining, maintaining an intriguing distance with the car behind, occasionally overtaking and quickly being overtaken again.
Brutally handsome, full of tension.
Scarlett Shaw and the audience shouted "Nice!" in unison; just as the buzzword ended, she noticed a modified Ferrari entering the slipstream of Jasper Spencer’s Mercedes.
In a split second, the Ferrari successfully overtook.
Smooth and decisive.
Aesthetic-full.
Like a cheetah, agile and elegant.
It was obvious to everyone that this overtake was not Jasper Spencer deliberately letting up.
In fact, he was suppressed by the other, in a disadvantaged position.
Scarlett Shaw’s attention was also captured by the Ferrari; it seemed familiar, and when the car competed with Jasper Spencer’s again, she suddenly realized it was the billion-dollar one.
She couldn’t take her eyes off it; her gaze fixated on the car.
It felt like she was seeing through the car, looking at the person inside.
The venue filled with roaring cheers; her heart inexplicably accelerated, as if a certain emotion was about to burst forth.
The other cars on the track were nothing but a backdrop, the Ferrari and Mercedes almost neck and neck. On the final lap, the rear of Jasper Spencer’s Mercedes suddenly swung; not only did the Ferrari not dodge, but it collided head-on, producing a loud noise.
Both cars swung like dragons, crashing off the track.
Silenced.
Scarlett Shaw instinctively followed the staff towards the accident site.
The collision scene emitted white smoke from machine component failures; though it seemed daunting, extreme sports always had proper safety measures. Jasper Spencer and the Ferrari’s driver got out unscathed.
Scarlett Shaw’s steps, upon nearing the cars, unconsciously veered towards the Ferrari.
She didn’t know if it was due to curiosity or concern; in that moment, the desire to see the race driver’s face peaked.
As her gaze landed on him, he casually removed his helmet; in the mixture of night and light, she found herself locking eyes with the calm, dark eyes of Julian Ford as he turned towards her.
