Out of Control: Into Your Everything-Chapter 182: Explain Yourself Properly
Theodore Carson was amused: "You cheeky little brat with a smart mouth!"
Ryan Ford was stunned by the slap on the back of his head from Theodore Carson. He wasn’t sure if it was his imagination, but he felt there was an unexpectedly friendly glint in Theodore’s dark eyes looking at him.
At the door, Julian Ford, who had already pulled Scarlett Shaw with him, witnessed this scene and his eyes deepened.
Theodore pulled out a pair of handcuffs from his pocket, walked over to Liam Spencer who was slumped on the ground, and cuffed him.
He then lifted him like a chicken.
Jasper Spencer, though still upset, knew he had to report back to the Spencer Family, so he asked, "Officer, how long will he be detained this time?"
"If he only detained the young lady for a day without doing anything, it’s still manageable."
Theodore swiftly glanced at Julian and Scarlett, who were tightly holding hands at the door.
When they burst in earlier, the unexpected calmness between Scarlett and Liam was surprising; the room lacked signs of struggle, and Scarlett’s emotions were stable. It seemed the young lady had talked things through with Liam, narrowly avoiding a crisis.
Theodore squinted slightly.
As Liam was being escorted into the car, Scarlett called out to Theodore, gesturing for him to come over.
Clearly, she had something more to say.
Scarlett intended to speak with Theodore privately, but Julian tightly held her hand. When she tried to pull away, her fingers were sore, and his voice was cold:
"Disappearing on me and now wanting to slip away?"
The emphasis he placed on the word "disappearing" carried a deeper meaning that others might not catch, but Scarlett understood it well.
She softened her stance, and as Theodore approached, she leaned in to whisper something only the two of them could hear.
Theodore’s rugged face showed a frown at first, and his gaze toward Scarlett held a hint of complexity, but more prominently, admiration and amazement.
There was also an expression, perplexing to onlookers, suggestive of recalling past regrets.
Scarlett’s words were brief, and after she finished, Theodore said, "If possible, it would be best to come to the station tomorrow to make a full report."
Scarlett agreed softly.
Theodore nodded and without saying more, quickly drove away.
The remaining few at the club, who should have either left or dispersed, found Ryan unable to hold back his curiosity. With a tone of eager curiosity, he asked, "Scarlett, what did you and Liam do for a whole day and night? You seem fine, wasn’t he bullying you?"
Scarlett: "You know I wasn’t bullied, and yet I knocked his front teeth out."
Ryan: "If it weren’t for his nonsense reaching mom and getting my brother blamed, the teeth would still be there. You didn’t hear the gossip—if you had, you’d want to tear their mouths apart!"
"Ryan."
Julian coldly cut him off.
"Have you said enough?"
Ryan scratched his nose, "Not enough, but you surely won’t let me keep talking."
Julian didn’t respond, pulling Scarlett along, but Ryan refused to let them leave. "Bro, don’t rush off. There are plenty of rooms at the club. I’ll have Mr. Sutton arrange some late-night snacks, and we can have a gaming session while Scarlett tells us the story—makes everything more entertaining!"
Ryan’s usually playful nature made such a proposal rather appealing.
Jasper Spencer wasn’t very familiar with Ryan, but their teamwork in beating up Liam formed a friendship.
Besides, the suggestion was indeed tempting.
Playing games, eating good food, and hearing gossip—it’s pure heaven anywhere!
So he said to Scarlett, "I’ll go pick Yana Yarrow up now. She slapped me twice when she heard you were missing out of worry. If she comes, we can even have a five-player game!"
Scarlett: "..."
Her best friend was quite a character.
No doubt she cared, but the slaps were certainly not gentle.
Scarlett had no objections to Ryan’s suggestion, but her boyfriend—
She couldn’t help sneakily glancing at Julian.
The moment she was found and Julian held her, he appeared calm and composed, but his clammy, tightly clasped hand and trembling fingers didn’t lie.
For the first time, Scarlett felt a sense of fear of loss from Julian.
It wasn’t obvious, but deeply engraved in her mind.
Yet when Liam received a mixed beating from Jasper and Ryan.
Julian’s eyes still showed worry, urgency, and tension as he looked at Scarlett.
But more than anything, it was the scrutinizing gaze that chilled her back.
She even felt like compared to Liam, being taken away by Theodore, she seemed more like the culprit.
Scarlett squeezed Julian’s hand, nervously looked up at him, and asked warmly, "What do you think of Ryan’s suggestion? I’ll follow your lead."
Julian looked down into her eyes.
His black eyes seemed to carry a hint of a smile, though the smile lacked warmth, not melting Scarlett’s heart but making her more uneasy, prompting her to dodge his seemingly penetrating gaze.
"Okay."
Julian leaned down to kiss her lips, staying near her ear, his voice cold and calm with a trace of deep-seated danger:
"I’m also eager to know why, since Liam didn’t do anything to you, you stayed here all day."
Scarlett: "..."
Julian pinched her earlobe, "Better not let me hear it was because you were chatting so well with him you lost track of time, which is why you were unreachable."
Scarlett: "..."
An hour later.
Ryan had Mr. Sutton arrange the largest premium room at the club, and Jasper brought Yana over.
Having been briefed roughly on the situation by Jasper on the way, Yana was curious after showing concern for Scarlett:
"What on earth did you two talk about to chatter for an entire day, even munching on seeds?"
Julian was peeling shrimp for Scarlett, glanced at her upon hearing, and fed the shrimp to her mouth.
His eyes clearly said: Explain, I’m listening.
Scarlett ate the shrimp, feeling sweet yet aggrieved.
The kidnapping was abrupt and forceful.
Late at night after working overtime, with few people on the street, a van suddenly stopped by. A few men covered her mouth, dragged her into the vehicle, tying up her hands and feet, with a dirty rag stuffed in her mouth.
Scarlett was terrified and trembling at the time.
Though news always advises girls to be cautious, faced with determined harm-doers, what defense could a defenseless girl possibly put up?
For a moment, she even went so far as to think of her last words.
But as soon as she began drafting her thoughts, she was knocked unconscious, rendering her thoughts incomplete much like a disrupted dream.
She awoke in a club room.
Dumped on the floor, her hands and feet still bound, with Liam seated on the couch in front, a syringe on the table beside him.
Scarlett instantly guessed what the syringe contained, hurriedly telling Liam:
"I know you’re in a rush, but don’t be!"
Liam, taken aback, blurted: "Who told you I’m in a rush!"
Scarlett earnestly looked at him:
"You’re not in a rush? You know my boyfriend is Julian Ford, right? Let me tell you, he has separation anxiety; it’s already the afternoon of the next day, and I haven’t told him good morning. He must be losing his mind!"
"You saw him lose it once before, are you keen to see it again?"
