Chapter 306: Chapter 296: Weekend at the Old Residence (Part 2)

"How can your mind compare to that old fox Dean Thorne’s?" Old Master Forrester chuckled, patting Simon Forrester’s shoulder, "Alright, it’s getting late, let’s head inside. After dinner, I have something to discuss with you guys."

.

After dinner, Old Master Forrester called Sienna Thornton and Simon Forrester into the study and said solemnly, "Tonight, you both will stay in The East Wing, which is Jules’ room. You two should discuss how to redecorate it and, after a while, you can start setting up the room."

Sienna Thornton remained silent, but Simon Forrester asked, "My room is perfectly fine, why redecorate?"

Then he added, "It’s not like redecorating is always good, lots of pollution involved! Grandpa, are you planning to harm your own grandson?!"

Old Master Forrester was so annoyed he took a few deep breaths to calm down.

The old man looked at Sienna Thornton and smiled, "The East Wing is a boy’s room; you girls will need to add some things. Sienna, think it over tonight and see what you’d like to add, then let Jules know so he can prepare!"

Sienna Thornton nodded, "Thank you, Grandpa."

The old man looked at her with satisfaction, liking her more and more the more he looked. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

Compared to his grandson who liked to contradict him on everything, and his willful daughter-in-law Sylvia Langley, the obedient and gentle Sienna Thornton was practically an angel.

Old Master Forrester looked at Sienna Thornton with great satisfaction. But then he thought, she is the eldest daughter of Quentin Thorne, after all. As sweet as she may appear on the surface, she’s fundamentally resilient and even sharp, much like the always cunning and shrewd Quentin Thorne.

Indeed, she’s Quentin Thorne’s daughter, a girl who managed to get into the United States for her PhD from a poor county without a penny to her name. How could she be naïve?

Thinking of this, Old Master Forrester’s gaze grew more complex as he looked at his future granddaughter-in-law. It wasn’t that he didn’t like her, but rather that his original fondness and satisfaction were now tinged with a layer of admiration.

.

Old Master Forrester sat in the living room with the young people for a while before going to shower and prepare for bed around eight.

Sienna Thornton had been watching TV for most of the day and found it quite dull, so she coaxed Simon Forrester to go outside for a walk.

Coming out of the old house, it was all main roads in the old city district, with only Serene Lake nearby being a romantic spot suitable for young couples.

Simon Forrester and Sienna Thornton left hand in hand, planning to take a few laps around Serene Lake before going back to sleep.

They exited through the small alleys, and after passing through the vibrant bar district, they would reach the tranquil, willow-lined artificial lake of Serene Lake.

Serene Lake is a traditional cultural tourist spot in Brimfield. During the day, across the river stood the ancient buildings with gray walls and brown tiles; at night, these ancient structures are adorned with neon lights, creating an enigmatic and splendid atmosphere, becoming one of Brimfield’s symbols of fashion culture. They represent the city’s traditional alley culture and modern trends.

As they passed through the bar district, Sienna Thornton suddenly remembered Ronan Grant trying to invite Simon Forrester for a night out and thus abruptly asked, "Did you often hang out at the bars here?"

Simon Forrester was thinking about Quentin Thorne and instinctively replied, "Hm."

Sienna Thornton squinted her eyes subtly and asked, "How many beauties have you chatted up here?"

This startled Simon Forrester back to reality. Alert, he responded, "None."

"Really none?" Sienna Thornton looked straight into his eyes, "Honesty leads to leniency, resistance leads to severity."

Simon Forrester: "...like I have no place to find a girlfriend? As if I’d go to bars to chat up girls?"

"Oh——" Sienna Thornton dragged the sound, smiling like a sly fox, "Then where do you go to chat up girls?"

Having been through several sudden ’life-or-death’ questions, Simon Forrester’s defensive skills had improved significantly. He smoothly and cheekily replied, "Well, didn’t I meet a lawyer girl at home?"

As he spoke, he leaned down to give Sienna Thornton a kiss on the cheek.

Sienna Thornton was amused by his antics and didn’t pursue the topic of picking up girls at bars further. The past can’t be recalculated; as long as he’s well-behaved with her now, that’s all that matters.

The two strolled along the banks of Serene Lake, enjoying the summer breeze and breathing in the fresh air from nature, instantly feeling buoyant.

Returning to the old house, Old Master Forrester was already asleep.

Sienna Thornton and Simon Forrester quietly returned to The East Wing.

With a crisp "click," Simon Forrester pressed the light switch inside the room, and in an instant, the room was filled with warm yellow light.

Sienna Thornton stepped over the threshold, curiously observing the room—

In the courtyard, the East Wing generally accommodates the eldest and third sons, so it’s usually partitioned into two rooms. But because the Forrester Family only had Simon Forrester as their grandson, this room had been extended. A long strip of space that contained the bedroom at the far end, a small living room in the middle, and areas for the study and bathroom remaining.
