He would give her the cold shoulder, even in front of Sienna Thornton, go as far as not respecting her, but this did not mean he could accept Zane Forrester hitting Sylvia Langley.

She had tried to explain it simply, but Sylvia Langley still seemed to misunderstand, fixating on whether she could get half of Zane Forrester’s fortune, even asking Sienna Thornton to pull off some shady dealings to protect her assets and then go after Zane Forrester’s wealth.

Sienna Thornton was having a headache, wondering how to nicely refuse her, when she noticed Simon Forrester had seated himself at the dining room, listening with a dark expression.

Her heart skipped a beat, wondering if Simon Forrester was angry. She considered using the opportunity to excuse herself, but Sylvia Langley was still persistently asking how to get half of Zane Forrester’s wealth.

Sienna Thornton was quite annoyed, yet remained polite, "As you mentioned, Mr. Forrester’s properties are mainly in the overseas Forrester Family, and these involve clauses in United States corporate law, of which I’m not familiar, nor the organizational structure of the overseas Forrester Family, so..."

She really didn’t want to continue answering Sylvia Langley’s endless questions. It wasn’t that she couldn’t handle them, but more about not wanting to become Sylvia Langley’s divorce lawyer—what kind of a situation would that be? How could she face The Forrester Family in the future?

Seeing there was no clear answer regarding the assets, Sylvia Langley then asked, "What about custody? If I divorce that vile man, will the custody of Jules belong to me?"

Simon Forrester couldn’t listen anymore, he got up from his seat, approached Sylvia Langley, and asked coldly, "What are your plans for tonight?"

Sylvia Langley hesitated before speaking, then stood up and said, "Let me think about it. I’ll first go to the bathroom."

Sylvia Langley’s family was from The South. In Brimfield, besides her son, she didn’t have any relatives.

Simon Forrester knew she wanted to live here; after she left, he asked the expressionless Sienna Thornton sitting beside him, "She fought with Grandpa and my dad, can’t return to the old house for a few days. If I let her live here, are you willing? If not, I’ll have her stay at the hotel downstairs."

Sienna Thornton was certainly unwilling.

While Sylvia Langley showered in the guest bathroom, Sienna Thornton thoughtfully moved her makeup remover, facial cleanser, body wash, shampoo, and wireless hair dryer into the guest bathroom for her use.

After taking a shower, wearing Sienna Thornton’s clean new pajamas, lying on the soft bed in the guest room, wearing a facial mask from Sienna Thornton’s ex-boyfriend, comfortably under the air conditioning, she sighed, "Still, a son is the best! A husband isn’t worth a damn!"

Simon Forrester sat on a nearby chair, rolled his eyes at her, and reprimanded, "You’ve really gone too far this time. I’m your son, so no matter how excessive you get, at most, I’ll yell at you. But is my dad the same? My dad’s got no blood ties with you, you insult his blood-related dad, is he supposed to let it slide?"

Simon Forrester, still angry, showed Sylvia Langley an unfriendly face, got up to leave, and before leaving, gritted his teeth, warning her: "My marriage is not for you to decide, stop setting up with The Sinclair Family! Also, stop disrespecting Grandpa! Otherwise, I won’t hesitate to sever our mother-son relationship!"

When she heard he wanted to sever the mother-son relationship, Sylvia Langley, unable to return to the old house after being hit by Zane Forrester, felt panic set in, hurriedly removed her mask, and compromised, "Fine, fine, I won’t push you with Nina anymore, don’t sever ties with your mom, mom only has you now..."

"She’s doing a face mask now, don’t know when she’ll sleep, why bother worrying?" Simon Forrester flushed the toilet, stood at the sink washing his hands and face, splashed water and lotion on his face, then left the bathroom.

He cuddled Sienna Thornton on the bed, silently holding her.

Sienna Thornton knew Sylvia Langley and Zane Forrester had a fight, but didn’t know the specifics, curious for a while, finally with Simon Forrester in bed, she was determined to get to the bottom of it.

She shifted, turned to face him, cradled his face, asking, "Did your parents fight? What was it about?"
