Our Love Story: Hard to Guard Against the Sudden Love Strike-Chapter 282 - 279: Hospitalization
Old Master Forrester collapsed.
Thomas Reed quickly took him to the hospital. After a series of examinations, the doctor said that Old Master Forrester, who had high blood pressure, experienced a surge in blood pressure due to continuous emotional shocks. If they had been any later in bringing him, the old man might have suffered a stroke.
Thomas Reed didn’t dare return to Britione. After stabilizing Old Master Forrester at the hospital, he went back to the Reed Family and brought Grandma Forrester and Bianca Fordham.
Old Master Forrester slept a day and a night, only waking up on Sunday morning. He looked at Thomas Reed, who was sleeping on the accompanying hospital bed, and weakly called out, "Leo..."
Thomas Reed startled awake and shook Bianca Fordham, who was sleeping on the sofa, and they both gathered in front of Old Master Forrester.
Bianca Fordham: "Dad, how do you feel?"
Thomas Reed: "Grandpa, do you still feel dizzy?"
Old Master Forrester glanced around the room and asked, "Where are Elliot and Sylvia?"
Thomas Reed: "Uncle and Aunt went home last night. They said they would come to see you in the morning."
Old Master Forrester’s eyes reddened, and he asked again, "Where’s Jules?"
Thomas Reed: "He’s been here the whole time. He just went downstairs to buy you some porridge."
Upon hearing that his well-behaved grandson and grandson-in-law were both present during his illness, Old Master Forrester’s tears rolled down from the corners of his eyes.
After a while, Simon Forrester came up, carrying two large bags of breakfast.
Seeing him arrive, Old Master Forrester extended both arms, wanting a hug.
Simon Forrester quickly walked to the bedside, bent down to give the old man a hug, and comforted him: "It’s okay now, Grandpa. In future, talk things out calmly, don’t get angry anymore, alright?"
Old Master Forrester nodded aggrievedly, and after separating from Simon Forrester, he asked again, "Where’s Hilary?"
"We just got off the plane late last night. She’s been feeling unwell these past two days, so I let her go home and sleep well. I’ll go to bring her to see you later."
Old Master Forrester then asked, "Where did you go that you had to fly back?"
"We went to Azure Harbor on Thursday," still ill, Simon Forrester didn’t dare say he took Sienna Thornton shopping. Instead, he said, "Sienna went for work, and I accompanied her."
Old Master Forrester nodded and didn’t ask further.
.
Old Master Forrester had some plain porridge and took his medicine. After the doctor finished his rounds, he fell asleep again.
Zane Forrester and his wife and Grandma Forrester arrived, and Simon Forrester and Bianca Fordham prepared to go home to rest and come back in the evening to take over the night shift.
While going downstairs, Simon Forrester called out to Thomas Reed.
The two of them walked under the trees, Simon Forrester asked, "Why did Grandpa suddenly become like this?"
Thomas Reed also felt guilty: "I said that Sienna and I had nothing going on, but your mom and dad didn’t believe me, forcing me to admit something. I had to reveal that your dad has been monitoring me for a while to prove it. As soon as Grandpa heard, he got angry and collapsed."
Simon Forrester listened, his expression turned grave, and he sighed deeply, patting Thomas Reed on the shoulder: "I understand. Nobody wanted things to turn out like this."
At its core, it’s his own parents’ fault.
Even if Simon Forrester didn’t like Thomas Reed, he understood this truth.
.
When he returned home, Sienna Thornton had just woken up. Seeing him return, she quickly jumped out of bed and asked, "How is Grandpa?"
Simon Forrester downplayed it: "It’s nothing much, the old man has high blood pressure. He’s under observation in the hospital for a few days, and after medication controls it, he’ll be discharged."
Once she heard it wasn’t serious, Sienna Thornton finally relaxed and asked, "Later when you go to the hospital, can I go with you?"
"Sure."
Simon Forrester took some clothes to shower, and after Sienna Thornton finished washing up, she went out to make breakfast. As soon as breakfast was ready, Simon Forrester had just finished showering, ate some, and went to sleep.
Sienna Thornton knew he wouldn’t wake up for lunch, so she didn’t make any. She tidied up the house and prepared food for dinner, and by the time she was finished, it was already evening.
When Simon Forrester got up, she was cooking in the kitchen.
The sunset outside cast purple smoke, inside his beloved wife was cooking soup. That familiar warmth of domestic life returned.
Simon Forrester couldn’t remember how long it had been since he felt this peaceful and warm.
He walked into the kitchen, stood behind Sienna Thornton, and wrapped his arms around her waist, glancing at the celery and tomatoes sizzling in the pan. He was surprised: "I thought you didn’t eat celery?"
Sienna Thornton continued to sauté the vegetables, turned to peck him on the cheek, and smiled: "Celery can lower blood pressure, I’ll take it to the hospital for Grandpa to eat later."
Someone taking advantage suddenly playing coy: "He’s my grandfather, not yours, why are you being so attentive?"
"Love me, love my dog!"
What a perfect "love me, love my dog". Simon Forrester’s heart turned soft, holding Sienna Thornton in his arms, he fondly said: "Candy, let’s get married?"
At that moment, the clashing of the spatula, the sizzle of hot oil, covered up his proposal.
Sienna Thornton exclaimed, loudly asked: "What did you say?"
"I said! Let’s! Get! Married!."
.
The two of them didn’t eat at home, packed the food in warmth-keeping containers planning to take them to the hospital to eat together with Old Master Forrester.
Initially, Simon Forrester didn’t understand, asked: "Why don’t we eat first and then bring the food over once we’re done?"
Sienna Thornton gave him a look: "Being in the hospital is already lonely and frightening, eating alone will only remind one that they’re a patient needing special care; but eating with family feels like home."
"So particular? If I get hospitalized later, remember to bring the kids to eat with me, don’t leave me eating hospital meals alone..."
Before Simon Forrester could finish, Sienna Thornton hugged him tightly.
She nestled in his arms, softly said: "Don’t say such unlucky things!"
Simon Forrester’s lips and eyes curled, he said: "Who hasn’t had their time in the hospital," but his face was full of contentment.
.
When they arrived at the hospital, Old Master Forrester was angrily looking at the bowl of porridge in front of him: "I won’t eat! Take it away! Giving me porridge all day, trying to starve me old man to death?!"
Zane Forrester sat by the bed trying to console him, Sylvia Langley sat on the sofa not far away looking at her phone.
Standing at the door, Simon Forrester’s gaze darkened, looking at Sylvia Langley, coldly said: "Ms. Langley, if you want to play with your phone, go home to do it. The internet is better there than at the hospital."
Hearing his voice, everyone looked over.
Sylvia Langley quickly put her phone away, greeted him with a false smile: "Jules, you’re here! Mom hasn’t seen you for days..."
As she spoke, she saw Sienna Thornton behind Simon Forrester. Her previously ingratiating face turned to disdain, fiercely said: "What are you here for?"
Sienna Thornton’s heart sank a bit, thinking, this attitude change is too drastic. Before, she was just treated like air, now it’s like she’s an eyesore.
Simon Forrester didn’t want Sylvia Langley to talk nonsense and upset Sienna Thornton, so he spoke up to send them away: "You both go home, we’ll stay here, Candy and I."
Old Master Forrester also didn’t want the chatterbox Sylvia Langley to spill those non-existent matters to Sienna Thornton, so he spoke up too: "Yes, Elliot, both of you leave! I don’t want to see you!"
Zane Forrester, who had attended to Old Master Forrester’s rising temper all day, was already fed up and couldn’t wait to leave. Seeing his son and Old Master Forrester asking them to go, he didn’t persuade Old Master Forrester to eat anymore, grabbed Sylvia Langley, and quickly fled.
Simon Forrester watched their hasty retreating figures, helplessly glanced at Sienna Thornton, holding a warmth-preserving bottle in one hand and her other hand, and walked into the hospital room.
