Chapter 276: Chapter 273: Love

At seven in the evening, Simon Forrester’s phone alarm went off right on time. He didn’t have a habit of lying in bed, so he got up immediately.

When he called Sienna Thornton to get up, she was still groggy, mumbling that she didn’t want to get out of bed and wanted to keep sleeping.

Simon had no choice but to get up on his own, handle some work, and before he knew it, it was late at night.

Sienna slept for a full six hours and when she woke up, she couldn’t tell if it was day or night, staring blankly at Simon using the computer at the desk. "What’s the time now?"

"It’s after ten," Simon put away his computer, "Do you still want to go out for dinner?"

"It’s so late?" Sienna got out of bed, scratched her head, "Let’s not go out, if we go out and come back we’ll have to shower again, how many times do I have to shower in a day..."

"Alright then, we’ll just grab something at the hotel. There’s a vegetarian restaurant downstairs."

"Vegetarian?" Upon hearing that they’ll be eating greens, Sienna’s enthusiasm waned, she feigned weakness and said, "You just drained me dry, how can I have any energy without some meat."

Simon: "..."

As a result, when they tried to go to the vegetarian restaurant, they were told it was closing soon and wouldn’t accommodate them, so the two had to return to the room and have dinner delivered by the hotel.

Soon, a hotel server pushed a dining cart over, bringing Wagyu steak, various small starters and desserts, filling up a coffee table.

Huddled on the sofa, Sienna ate the steak Simon cut for her, looked at the Central District night view outside the floor-to-ceiling window, feeling perfectly content, she sighed, "Being with you is so blissful."

Simon wrapped an arm around her shoulder, kissed her still baby-fat cheeks and smiled just as contentedly, "We complete each other." 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

"But I feel like I haven’t given you anything good," Sienna said, pursed her lips, picked up the cocktail on the table to drink.

"How so?" Simon took the drink from her hand, drank a sip himself, then kissed her, transferring the drink to her mouth, "You’ve given me love, and that’s the best, most precious thing."

Actually, he wanted to say that when she had a fracture and lived with him for that time, she really took care of him, even after they started living together she was home without work, she took great care of him, cooked meals, cleaned the house, kept everything organized.

Every day when he came home there was a nutritious dinner to eat, fresh clothes to wear, and a clean living space.

All of this made him, a severe neat freak, feel intensely comfortable. Actually that time was his happiest and most comfortable days.

Later, as she rejoined the workforce, dedicating part of her energy to her career, she naturally couldn’t revolve entirely around him.

Yet he still felt that every day spent with her was warm and stable. They would leave for work together in the morning, come back home in the evening to cook, do chores, he would work while she read books in the study, keeping him company. Lights off, they would embrace and fall asleep together.

Such days were what he always longed for.

And she was a very genuine and practical girl, she wouldn’t frequent night clubs, nor make lots of friends for endless social gatherings, she prioritized her career and their relationship, shared everything with him, though occasionally a bit willful, never did anything like staying out all night to cause him concern.

Her being so virtuous, understanding, diligent, and progressive met all his requirements for a lover.

He loved her.

.

Upon hearing him say love, Sienna chuckled to herself, burying her face in his neck, asked, "Do men like you believe in love too?"

He looked down at her, "I didn’t use to believe in it."

"Then why do you believe now?"

"Because I met you." He said, lowering his head to kiss her.

She wrapped her arms around his neck, leaning her face close to his ear, gently whispered, "Me too. I love you."

She used to be a proponent of staying single, adamantly swore she’d never marry in this lifetime, yet now she’s wavering...

-

Brimfield.

June, the sun blazed down on the earth, nearly steaming everyone to a melting point.

Sylvia Langley dressed up impeccably, wearing a sleeveless dress she designed herself, an English style little hat, carrying a fruit basket, she headed to visit her friend’s house.

The Sinclair Family lived in a villa complex in the suburbs of Brimfield, though the residents here were all wealthy, Sylvia didn’t particularly appreciate this kind of place that only required money to move in.

If not for Nina Sinclair being obedient and easy to control, her friend’s daughter whom she could easily influence in the future, Sylvia wouldn’t even bother with her.

The Sinclair Family’s wealth, connections, as well as Nina’s looks, accomplishments, were far from matching the only heir of the Forrester Family. But since Nina had liked Simon ever since she was young, Sylvia believed if she gave her a chance, she would surely be grateful beyond words, loyally following her for life!

A daughter-in-law’s achievements didn’t matter anyway; ultimately she would serve the son, serve her, merely for carrying on the Forrester lineage, it was preferable not to have achievements, so she wouldn’t always be out causing trouble.

Thinking of this, along with her displeasure, Sylvia found some comfort.

She saw Nina at the Sinclair estate, practicing yoga indoors and was surprised, "Nina, not going to work? Feeling unwell?"

Nina didn’t reply, instead Mrs. Sinclair mentioned, "Last time Nina’s grandfather said your father-in-law came over, implying Nina needs a PhD to be with Rex."

Upon hearing this, Sylvia understood it was Old Master Forrester and Simon’s doing, she quickly clarified, "No, my father-in-law was just joking. Nina doesn’t need a PhD, I recognize her as my daughter-in-law anyway!"

As she spoke, she took out a jewelry box from her bag, placed it in Nina’s hand, "Nina, this is a little gift Aunt brought you from Franland."

However, Nina didn’t accept it, her gaze lowered.

Sylvia noticed and quickly asked, "What’s wrong? Open it and see if you like it?"

Nina didn’t look, putting the jewelry box on the table, softly replied, "Aunt Langley, please don’t give this to me. It’s impossible between Cyrus and me, he’s already with a lawyer."

Upon hearing this, Sylvia’s smile faded halfway, sneering, "I know, that female lawyer isn’t clean, I’ve already had Jules break up with her!"

As she spoke, she looked towards Nina and Mrs. Sinclair, "I’m back to stay for a while mainly to settle Jules’ marriage. His father and I have discussed, we intend for us, as a couple, to host the engagement party for Jules and Nina first, what do you think?"

Mrs. Sinclair couldn’t contain her joy.

Nina remained silent but her eyes were filled with obvious excitement. Cautiously she probed, "Did Cyrus agree?"

Sylvia laughed lightly, pulling Nina’s hand, giving it a gentle pat as encouragement, "Can he not agree? I told him if he doesn’t break up with that lawyer, I’ll take back the land for his design firm. Once he breaks up and you two get engaged, it’s a done deal!"
