Our Love Story: Hard to Guard Against the Sudden Love Strike-Chapter 213 - 211: Having a Daughter Is Better
"A male with the surname Tang, height between 180 to 185 cm, born in 1965, a local of Brimfield, a university student in the 80s, who may now be working in law or the judiciary," Simon Forrester stood by the window, talking on the phone, "Yes, and one more thing, between 1988 and 1990, he was involved in rural teaching activities in Wrayhaven."
After hanging up, Simon Forrester pondered for a while and then turned around to sit back on the bed, propping himself on the mattress with one hand, and turning his face to look at Sienna Thornton.
Sienna Thornton was leaning against the headboard reading a Kindle. Seeing that he had finished his call, she also looked up at him, "Any luck?"
"With the information you’ve provided, finding him shouldn’t be difficult. Just filter out all the Tang men born in 1965 in Brimfield who are over 1.8 meters tall, and then compare and analyze each one. We can quickly narrow it down to a suitable range."
Sienna Thornton nodded, smiling wryly, "Now that’s how you look for someone. What I did before was just like a headless chicken running around aimlessly?"
"You tried looking before?"
"Yes, I hired an investigation company to look, but it was ineffective. They claimed they had connections to check internal networks, but still couldn’t find anything."
Thinking back to the massive father-searching mission two or three years ago, she suddenly felt like this time might not yield results either. So much time had passed, and some information had become blurred.
Or perhaps, that person was no longer in this world... otherwise, why would so many years pass without him ever returning to look for Melinda Linton?
Thinking of these things made Sienna Thornton feel a wave of sadness.
Simon Forrester noticed she didn’t look well, so he slipped under the covers, wrapped his arms around her, and softly comforted her, "There’s also a possibility that he has immigrated. We’ll first screen the registered residents in Brimfield. If we still can’t find him, we’ll start looking among those who have emigrated. We will find him, definitely."
"Alright, thank you." Sienna Thornton put down her Kindle and snuggled closer to him, wrapping her arms around his waist, finding a comfortable position.
Simon Forrester switched off the light, and the room instantly fell into darkness.
In the deep winter snowfall, most families in the small town slept early. It was only nine in the evening, and there were hardly any cars or people on the streets.
Sienna Thornton and Simon Forrester lay in the soft and warm bed, holding each other. Sienna was thin, while Simon Forrester was tall with long legs and strong limbs. With a simple fold of his arms, he enveloped her slender form in his warm embrace.
The man’s body was firm and warm, the woman’s soft and delicate; they found in each other the most desired, most relied-upon feeling. The embrace tightened as if wanting to meld the other into their being.
He kissed her, in the moment of losing control, softly murmuring in her ear, "Candy, I love you..."
She returned what he most wanted, "I love you too..."

On New Year’s Eve, after having a reunion dinner at the Raines Family with Simon Forrester, Sienna Thornton gave Melinda Linton a big red envelope and planned to return to the hotel.
Sienna and Simon had to return to Brimfield early on the second day, and although she initially wanted to spend a little more time at the Raines Family with Melinda Linton, Melinda was busy all evening serving Felix Raines and Jared Raines and his wife, and hadn’t had time to talk to her.
Melinda had a deeper connection with the Raines Family, especially after Jared got married. She was eager every day to have grandchildren. Once back, she revolved around her son and daughter-in-law, hardly remembering her eldest daughter, who didn’t need worrying over.
Feeling complex emotions, Sienna left the Raines Family with Simon after the reunion dinner, skipping the Spring Festival Gala.
As the car left the neighborhood, Sienna asked, "It’s still early, how about we drive around the county town?"
Simon Forrester: "Sure."
So they drove around aimlessly.
The roads in the small county town were narrow, with only two lanes. Along the way, children in new clothes with red envelopes in hand were playing in groups, the small roads lined with celebratory decorations, filled with a vibrant festive atmosphere.
As they passed Wrayhaven Middle School, Sienna rolled down the car window, pointing to the rundown school, and smiled, "I attended middle school here."
Simon Forrester glanced sideways while driving, frowning, "It’s at least dozens of kilometers from Raines Village to here, did you stay at the school?"
"Yes," Sienna smiled, "I was particularly small and thin when I was little, but after living at the school and eating lots of rice from the cafeteria daily, my height shot up from 140 cm to 170 cm during those years."
Simon Forrester also chuckled, holding her hand with one of his, "Your mom’s not short, your biological father is over 1.8 meters tall, so growing to 1.7 meters is normal."
"That’s why genes are so important," Sienna sighed, "Felix Raines is short, and his two children inherited that from him."
"Isn’t there some formula now to predict a child’s height? Try it online and see how tall our future children might be."
Sienna laughed heartily, playfully holding his hand back and calling him "silly," yet willing to indulge him, she quickly took out her phone to look it up.
"Oh no, how frightening!" she suddenly exclaimed.
Simon grew tense immediately, "What’s wrong? Is the child short?"
Looking at her phone, Sienna spoke helplessly, "Boy: 193 cm, girl: 172 cm... The girl is fine, but the boy is a bit too tall, even taller than you."
"193 cm is indeed quite high, but 172 cm for the girl is nice. Let’s not have boys in the future, just girls."
Hearing that, Sienna pretended to chastize him with a playful glare, "As if you could choose the baby’s gender with your thoughts."
"You’d be surprised, there might be a way," Simon assured her with a particularly earnest tone as he drove, "My grandpa said the reason Uncle Grant’s wife next door could have four sons is because of a fondness for alkaline noodles. So let’s do the opposite when you’re pregnant, avoiding all alkaline foods."
"...Your grandpa told you this because he hoped you’d eat more noodles to have a boy, not the opposite."
-
Driving around the small county town took less than an hour to complete.
Back at the hotel, Maeve called, and upon hearing that Sienna was back in her hometown, warmly invited her to join the class reunion the next evening. Having not seen Maeve and her high school classmates for a while, Sienna accepted.
After Simon came out from his shower, he saw Sienna crouched by the suitcase, rummaging through it, and casually asked, "What are you looking for?"
Sienna pulled out a black off-shoulder dress and a black knee-length woolen coat, standing in front of the mirror to match them a few times, saying, "Let’s go to Z City tomorrow afternoon. I have a high school reunion tomorrow night."
Simon Forrester readily agreed, "Sure, I’ll accompany you."
Looking at him through the mirror, Sienna’s eyes curved playfully, "Can’t you be a bit more reserved? Were you even invited?"
Before she finished speaking, someone swooped in, wrapping his arms around her waist, gritting his teeth teasingly, "Even if I’m not invited, I’m going. Don’t think I don’t know you had an old flame in high school."
