Chapter 207: Chapter 205: Name Your Price

Sienna Thornton was obviously startled, stepping back rapidly, ending up in Simon Forrester’s arms.

Simon Forrester held her, walked over to glance through the peephole, and said impatiently, "It really is her. What is she doing here so late?"

Even Sienna Thornton, who usually had great composure, was a bit at a loss and slipped out from Simon Forrester’s arms, "Should I go hide in the room?"

"Why would you hide?" Simon Forrester grabbed the bunny ears on her pajamas, "It’s not like you’re a mistress."

"Okay then."

"Shall I open the door?"

"Yeah!"

Sienna Thornton tidied her messy hair from being blown around and smoothed her pajamas, standing behind Simon Forrester.

The moment the door opened, Mrs. Forrester’s gaze lifted from her phone screen. Seeing her son, she smiled briefly. But in the next moment, seeing Sienna Thornton standing behind him, her enchanting face flashed through shock, surprise, anger, and even sadness.

But after all, she was a wealthy lady accustomed to storms; she quickly regained her calm. Her sharp gaze scanned Sienna Thornton several times, asking coldly, "What is Mr. Thornton doing here?"

"Ms. Langley, isn’t this a rhetorical question?" Simon Forrester made a move to close the door, "Are you coming in or not? If not, I’ll close the door."

"Jules, you!" Mrs. Forrester was annoyed but stepped inside a few more strides.

She was wearing a knee-length fur coat and high heels from a certain luxury brand worth six figures in RMB. As she came in from outside, Sienna Thornton smelled a very elegant perfume.

Simon Forrester closed the door with impatience, then tightly held Sienna Thornton’s hand as they walked to the living room together.

Mrs. Forrester sat on the sofa, her six-figure handbag on the coffee table, and removed her expensive fur coat, sitting elegantly with her back straight.

Sienna Thornton followed Simon Forrester over and sweetly smiled at Mrs. Forrester, "Good evening, Auntie. Please sit down first, and I’ll make some tea."

After saying that, she slipped into the kitchen.

A moment later, she returned holding chamomile tea and cherries, while Mrs. Forrester was in a staring contest with Simon Forrester. Seeing Sienna approach, she glanced up, "Mr. Thornton, come sit down."

"Alright."

Sienna Thornton held the tray with both hands, and Simon Forrester stood up immediately to help her, "Here, sit with me." He said as he pulled her to sit beside him.

Mrs. Forrester had never seen her son speak so gently, and she was momentarily stunned. Soon, a mix of anger and grievance returned.

Her son always spoke to her in a cold, hard manner, but now he was speaking softly to a woman she didn’t even know.

After all, he was her son, whom she had carried for ten months!

Mrs. Forrester was filled with anger and sadness, her refined eyes turning into ice daggers directed at Sienna Thornton, "I won’t mince words. Do you know I’ve already found a marriage prospect for Jules?"

As she spoke, Simon Forrester put down the cherry he was picking at, ready to argue with Mrs. Forrester. Sienna Thornton quickly held his arm, indicating for him not to speak. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

She looked at Mrs. Forrester and shook her head, "I didn’t know."

"Well, I’m telling you now."

Sienna Thornton smiled, stood up to pour Mrs. Forrester a cup of herbal tea, and softly said, "Simon and I are in a relationship now. Auntie, introducing other girls to him while he has a girlfriend seems disrespectful, pushing someone into the mistress position."

Perhaps Mrs. Forrester hadn’t expected such a young woman, faced with the mother of her boyfriend stating that she had arranged a marriage for him, to bring the matter so openly to the table. Mrs. Forrester was momentarily at a loss and, after a while, nodded angrily, "I should have guessed a woman like you wouldn’t be simple, as you became legal head of The Forresters."

"Everyone is complicated; now, who is simple?" Sienna Thornton poured a cup of herbal tea each for Simon Forrester and herself, focusing on her actions but still wearing a smile.

Mrs. Forrester nearly choked with anger, finally realizing that talking to Sienna Thornton would bring her no advantage. This woman had nerves of steel; given the situation, she could still calmly pour and drink tea, while most girls would have their eyes filled with tears by now.

She remembered when she herself faced Simon Forrester’s grandmother before marrying Zane Forrester, her palms had sweated even while feigning calm. Words had stuck in her mouth, a constant fake front—unlike Sienna Thornton now, who was relaxed, clear in her statements.

With her son no longer under control, if a more troublesome daughter-in-law joins, would anyone other than Zane Forrester still listen to her within the Forrester family?!

Not being able to control a daughter-in-law signified that the grandchildren wouldn’t listen to her either, leaving her later life with little to look forward to?!

Mrs. Forrester was furious, her eyes fixed intensely on Sienna Thornton.

With a perpetual smile on her face, Sienna Thornton handed the cherries Simon Forrester picked onto the porcelain plate to Mrs. Forrester first, politely saying, "Auntie, have some cherries."

Mrs. Forrester gritted her teeth nearly to the breaking point, not wanting to stay a moment longer in this place. Seeing this fox-like woman made her so angry she almost spat blood.

For years, she had promised Nina Sinclair’s mother that Nina would marry into the Forrester family. Now, with this woman having appeared out of nowhere, how could she explain to the Sinclair family?!

No, she had to drive Sienna Thornton away!

Mrs. Forrester tried her utmost to stay composed, gradually shedding the anger from her face and forcing a smile as she said to Simon Forrester, "Jules, could you step outside? I want to have a word with Mr. Thornton."

Simon Forrester raised his gaze cautiously, with no intention of leaving, "What do you need to say that I can’t hear?"

Mrs. Forrester gritted her teeth, turning to Sienna Thornton, "Mr. Thornton, should we talk inside?"

"No need."

Sienna Thornton smiled, her eyes looking past Simon Forrester’s shoulder towards the washing machine in the laundry room, which had a green light indicating it was done, and she nudged Simon Forrester, "It seems the laundry is done. Go and hang it out, or else the shirts might wrinkle."

At the mention of shirts, Simon Forrester stood up quickly, "Oh, my shirts, hope they’re not ruined."

Mrs. Forrester’s mouth twitched, her previously calm demeanor already shaken. Her face stern, she reprimanded, "Are you living with Jules without doing his laundry?"

"He worries I’ll ruin his shirts, so he’s the one handling the laundry."

"How do you divide household chores?"

"Whoever has the time does them." Sienna Thornton spoke diplomatically, leaving out that after she started working, Simon Forrester handled most chores.

But for Mrs. Forrester, who thought her son was too precious for household chores, "whoever has time does them" equated to "my son often does housework"!

She nearly exploded; in her view, Sienna Thornton was utterly useless.

Initially, she planned to persuade Sienna Thornton diplomatically, but now she didn’t want to say another word. She stood up, donned her fur coat, slung her handbag over her arm, turned around, and looked down at Sienna Thornton with disdain, "Name your price. How much for you to leave my son?"
