Otherworldly Desert Dust-Chapter 526 - 481
Wu Hen carried Taiya by the back of her collar, like holding a human-shaped shield as he sprinted wildly through a storm of blazing light.
Since the enemy showed no mercy to this woman, why shouldn't Wu Hen make use of her?
What Wu Hen didn't expect was that the woman's body was always enveloped by a very special layer of Light Gauze, even if shattered, a new layer would protect her, endlessly regenerating.
He had thought that the woman wouldn't last long in the terrifying Holy Light Bombs and he could simply throw her away, but to Wu Hen's surprise, he found the Linglong Shield extremely useful.
Thus, as Wu Hen continued his mad dash, he also used her as a shield, making a swift escape from this area dominated by cannon fire.
The Holy Light Bombs exploded behing them, creating a glaze pit with a diameter of a hundred meters; the high temperature fused sand and rocks into dazzling glass flowers, and corpse groups spanning tens of thousands of square meters, whether Corpse Workers or elites, were all reduced to ashes.
Wu Hen knew that he could no longer approach Oasis City and so, switched direction, using the woman as a shield to escape from that place for the time being.
Perhaps most Corpse People were drawn to the walls of Oasis City, Wu Hen only ran for about two miles and saw the edge of the Corpse Tide.
This overjoyed Wu Hen, finally able to leave this disgusting Corpse Tide behind.
Wu Hen sped up again to avoid being targeted by the Light Glass Cannons from Oasis City.
His speed increased more and more, stirring up a bloody storm around him.
The Green Gold Knights pursued him relentlessly, roaring behind him.
"Release our temple concubine, Your Highness!!"
"Filthy beast, don't be rude to our temple concubine!!"
"Corpse King, if you have any grievances, come at us!!"
The Green Gold Knights didn't get too far before they were obstructed by the corpse crowd; their numbers easily attracted the horde.
Wu Hen fled at full speed, unstoppable by anyone, and with the "cover" of the Glazed Tile Cannons from the city walls, he soon vanished into the wilderness.
The Green Gold Knights were dumbfounded.
Since when had there been such a fierce and powerful Corpse King on this earth, one who had even captured their temple concubine? How could they explain this to the temple, those knights sworn to protect her?
...
"Damn it, why did you fire at the battlefield where the temple concubine was?!" the man with the Light Crown among the Green Gold Knights accused the Iron Army Leader furiously.
The Iron Army Leader was also at a loss, he defended himself: "Our Light Glaze Cannons are washed with the Holy Liquid from Lan Guang Temple, the energy should be as rejuvenating as sunlight to the temple concubine, but a deadly blow to the Corpse King. I thought to directly target the Corpse King with fire, at least to relieve some pressure on the temple concubine, but how could I know that the wise Corpse King would capture her, using her body to block the Light Glaze Cannon shells!"
"You're hopeless, I will definitely report your actions to the superiors, you must take full responsibility for this!" the man with the Light Crown shouted.
"Don't you have reserve temple concubines? Life and death are common in our Oasis City, even for you from Lan Guang Temple, you can't avoid battle casualties, right? Regardless, we repelled this wave of the Corpse Tide attack before dusk and even forced back a Transcendent Corpse King, this is a victory for our entire Oasis City," chuckled the Iron Army Leader, smiling.
His smile infuriated the man with the Light Crown even more.
He realized that this was deliberate.
This guy didn't care about the life and death of the temple concubine, he even wanted her to die, so that his cousin could smoothly become the temple concubine...
"Alive, we need to see the person; dead, we need to see the body. All Lan Guang Knights obey my command, follow me to retrieve the temple concubine. Even if the temple concubine is dead, we must slay the Corpse King and use its head as a temple brick!" the man with the Light Crown said.
"We need more brave warriors, I will summon them immediately!"
"After dark, set out!" the man with the Light Crown ordered.
"Yes!"
...
In a small Salt Sand Pond in the desert, multicolored cacti were growing wildly without any pattern, forming a cactus area that resembled a rugged stone forest.
Wu Hen sat down on the edge of the Salt Sand Pond with a thud.
Although the saltwater of the desert cannot be drunk, at least it can be used to wash oneself.
The blood that had dried in the wind had crusted over, and the clothes underneath could no longer be seen.
Wu Hen also took off his equipment and then soaked himself in the pond.
No matter how dirty the substance that fell into the Salt Sand Pond, it would soon be evolved.
The Salt Sand Pond remained clean and clear, and it also washed away all the blood and grime from Wu Hen's body, revealing a human body that was sunny and robust.
By the pond, Taiya groggily opened her eyes.
She didn't know how long she had been unconscious. It wasn't that the recent battle had caused her a serious concussion, but rather the immense fear she felt when she saw the city walls from the perspective of the Corpse Tide for the first time caused her to faint.
Thankfully, she knew she had a Vestment robe and the exceptionally defensive Tulip Pendant on her. With these two divine artifacts, it was unlikely for her to die.

The sky had darkened, and the desert sky was filled with incredibly brilliant stars, stars that seemed like pearls and agates hanging from the black curtain...
The soft starlight sprinkled into the tranquil Salt Sand Pond, also casting a human shadow.
It was a person!
This Taiya was certain!
But before she fainted, she remembered being picked up by the Corpse King.
Could it be that a Divine Hero happened to pass by and rescued her from the Corpse King's grasp? How lucky she was!
"Hello...hello there!" Taiya timidly greeted.
"What's good about that, hello? Your Black Shirt Organization sure plays rough, killing your own people?" Wu Hen was in no good mood and rather rudely pulled the woman to her feet, not allowing her to sit there.
"The Black Shirt Organization?" Taiya looked confused, not understanding what he was talking about. However, to express her gratitude, she still performed a curtsy, crossing her hands over her chest and slightly squatting down, "Thank you for rescuing me from the Corpse King..."
"What Corpse King?" Wu Hen frowned, feeling like there was something wrong with the woman's mind.
He tossed his equipment into the pond to rinse it off, finally bringing back some of its original color. Wu Hen then put his armor back on.
After putting on this equipment, Taiya vaguely felt it was familiar.
Upon closer inspection and noticing the Thunder Magnetic Energy on Wu Hen's left and right hands, Taiya suddenly realized something. She sat down on the sand and began to retreat backward on her hands and feet, her little face filled with terror and astonishment.
"You...you are the Corpse King, you've evolved human language!!" Taiya exclaimed.
How could this be possible? Even if a Corpse King had intelligence, it could not possibly speak human language. Just how many years had this being existed, and how many powerful Alien Species had it slaughtered to evolve to such a degree that it was indistinguishable from a human.
Wu Hen was also laughed out of irritation, and went up to tap on the woman's head filled with paste, saying, "I am a person, an unrivaled, extraordinarily handsome, and noble man!"
