Oops Alpha, Wrong Luna-Chapter 37
Chapter 37: Chapter 37
Aria’s POV.
I stood in my room, my hands digging through a pile of clothes on the bed, searching for something to wear to the charity event for the homeless pack members later at night.
My heart was heavy, my mind a mess from Kael’s coldness that morning, his sharp words, "Go to the room. Don’t cause a scene" still stinging.
My wrists ached faintly, the red marks from his grip faded but not forgotten. My wolf, Kyra, whined, her unease mixing with mine, urging me to stay strong.
I was pretending to be Celeste, my twin sister, the Luna of the Shadow Claw pack, hiding my real name, Aria, and the weight of that lie pressed hard on my chest.
I didn’t know why Kael had been so cold, why he’d pushed me away, but I had to keep going, had to play my part.
A knock on the door snapped me out of my thoughts, my hands pausing on a blue dress.
A maid stepped in, her apron neat, her brown eyes nervous. "Luna," she said, bowing low, her voice soft.
"We’re setting up the hall for the charity event." Her hands twisted together, her face tense, like she was scared to say more.
I nodded, forcing a small smile, my fingers clutching the dress. "Who’s in charge?" I asked, my voice calm but curious, my heart still racing from thoughts of Kael.
The maid hesitated, her eyes dropping. "Lady Aria," she said, her voice barely a whisper. "She’s leading the setup."
My heart stopped, my hands dropping the dress, the fabric crumpling on the bed. Lady Aria? Celeste.
My sister, pretending to be me, using my name while I played her role as Luna. Rage boiled in my chest, hot and sharp, my hands clenching tight.
Kyra growled, her anger surging, her claws itching to fight. Celeste was out there, acting like she owned the place, like she was better than me, while I hid, pretending to be her.
A sinister smile curled my lips, my eyes glinting. I’d had enough. It was time to show her who was really in charge. At least, just for a split second.
"I’m going to the hall," I said, my voice firm, my smile sharp. I tossed the dress aside, my steps quick, my heart pounding with purpose.
This was my chance to put Celeste in her place, to remind her I was Luna, not her.
The maid’s eyes widened, her hands waving. "Luna, we’ve got it under control," she said, her voice shaky, her face pale. "You don’t need to—"
"No," I cut in, shaking my head, my voice hard. "I’m going." My eyes locked on hers, my jaw tight, my decision made.
Kyra purred, her excitement matching mine, ready to face Celeste. I grabbed a shawl, wrapping it over my shoulders, and headed out, the maid trailing behind, her steps hesitant.
The packhouse halls were busy, maids carrying decorations, their voices low, the air thick with the smell of flowers and polish.
My heels clicked on the stone floor, my heart racing, my mind set. The hall was at the far end, its tall doors carved with wolves, glowing in the morning light.
I took a deep breath, my hands steady, and pushed the doors open, the hinges creaking loud.
The room was bustling, tables draped in white cloth, vases filled with flowers, maids arranging chairs.
Everyone stopped, their eyes turning to me, bowing low. "Luna," they said, their voices soft, respectful.
My eyes found Celeste, standing near a table, a clipboard in her hands, her red dress tight, her dark hair pulled back.
Her gaze met mine, her jaw tightening, rage flashing in her blue eyes, so like mine but burning with hate.
She bowed her head, slow, forced, her lips a thin line. My smile grew, malicious, my heart pounding with victory.
She thought she could play me, use my name, but I was Luna here, and she’d learn that.
"Keep working," I said, my voice loud, clear, my eyes never leaving Celeste. The maids nodded, returning to their tasks, their movements quick, nervous.
I walked closer to Celeste, my shawl slipping slightly, my smile sharp. "You’re doing well, Aria," I said, my voice sweet but cutting, using her fake name, my eyes glinting.
Her face twitched, her hands clenching the clipboard, but she didn’t speak, just nodded, her jaw tight.
I didn’t let up. I was Luna, and she’d feel it. "Aria," I said, my voice firm, pointing to a stack of chairs.
"Move those to the corner. Now." Her eyes widened, her lips parting, but she nodded, her steps stiff as she obeyed. She dared not disobey the Luna of the pack. Who was she?
My heart raced, satisfaction warm in my chest. I kept going, sending her on errands, fetch more flowers, adjust the tablecloths, check the lights.
Each task was small, pointless, meant to wear her down. Her face grew red, sweat beading on her forehead, her dress sticking to her skin.
I smiled, leaning against a table, my arms crossed, watching her struggle.
She carried a heavy vase, her hands shaking, her breath short, and I called her again. "Aria, the banners need fixing," I said, pointing to the ceiling, my voice sharp, my smile wider.
Her eyes flashed, her jaw clenching, her hands dropping the vase with a thud. The room went quiet, maids pausing, their eyes wide, sensing the tension.
Celeste snapped, her voice loud, breaking the silence. "If you want to humiliate me so much, why don’t you do it right instead of this?" she shouted, her hands clenched, her face red with rage, her eyes burning into mine. freewebnoveℓ.com
I stepped closer, my heart pounding, my smile turning to a smirk. "Excuse me?" I said, my voice low, sharp, my eyes locked on hers.
I leaned in, my face inches from hers, my voice cold. Kyra growled, her strength pushing me forward, ready to fight.
Celeste opened her mouth, her breath shaky, her eyes glinting with hate.
"Need I remind you, you’re just a mere maid in the packhouse! A maid under my control! MY AUTHORITY!!" I snapped, my voice loud, cutting her off, my hands clenching tight.
The maids gasped, their eyes wide, the air filled with shock.
Celeste’s face twisted, her voice sharp, her words like a blade.
"Well, you know who isn’t supposed to be Luna?" she said, her voice loud, her eyes fierce.
Everyone gasped, their whispers loud, their faces uncertain, the room frozen with shock.
