One Piece: New Order-Chapter 69: Sakazuki vs Bullet
Chapter 69 - Sakazuki vs Bullet
On the deck, Bullet stood face-to-face with Sakazuki.
Around them, the marines paused their training and sat along the railing in neat rows, their eyes fixed on the two figures.
"Go, Bullet!"
"Charge!"
"Just hit already!"
"You got this!"
"Yeahhh!"
A chorus of cheers echoed across the warship.
Bullet smirked faintly. Taking off his jacket, he revealed a tight, short-sleeved shirt clinging to his frame, outlining every inch of his explosive muscles. Fighting spirit blazed in his eyes. In an instant, both arms were coated in Armament Haki.
Carlo stepped between them, raising his right hand.
"Begin!"
He swung his arm down sharply, then disappeared from the field.
The moment he left, Bullet stomped lightly.
Boom!
The entire warship trembled under the impact. A loud crash echoed as the planks beneath him cracked. He vanished from sight, leaving only a splintered section of the deck behind.
Snap!
A sharp sound echoed near Sakazuki. Bullet reappeared in front of him, the wind from his charge blowing the vice admiral's Justice cloak into the air.
Sakazuki calmly raised his left hand and caught the incoming punch.
"Not bad. Good power."
Bullet's eyes narrowed. An overwhelming force gripped his right fist. He couldn't pull it back.
Without hesitation, he clenched his left hand into a fist, slightly pushing out his middle knuckle. In one smooth arc, he swung it toward Sakazuki's temple.
Smack!
The vice admiral's right hand intercepted the strike with ease, catching his wrist.
Whoosh—
A sharp sound came from below. Bullet's knee, now sheathed in Armament Haki, rocketed upward toward his opponent's crotch.
In response, Sakazuki lifted his left knee, deflecting the blow to the side. At the same time, he twisted his grip in a circular motion.
Bullet was spun mid-air and flung backward. But the admiration in Sakazuki's eyes didn't fade.
'Clean. Sharp. Every move aimed at a vital point. He fights to end it in one blow. With that kind of talent... he's a perfect warrior,' He thought.
Bullet flipped through the air and landed on the deck in a crouch. Without pause—
Whoosh—
He lunged forward like a hunting leopard, arms sweeping out in a flurry of afterimages. His knees followed behind, each strike targeting vital points with pinpoint accuracy.
His assault was swift and tight. He was trying to end it fast—to catch Sakazuki off guard with a decisive blitz.
But the vice admiral remained calm, stepping back fluidly under the relentless barrage. His arms and knees moved with the precision of a seasoned fighter, predicting and parrying every strike.
Seeing no results, Bullet shifted his style. He focused all his attacks on a single point, each faster and heavier than the last. His blows came with a clear rhythm, growing sharper and more explosive with every move.
The watching marines clapped and shouted encouragement.
"Keep it up, Bullet!"
"Go, go, go!"
"That's it!"
"Yeah!"
Sakazuki was being pushed back, nearing the railing behind him. Bullet closed in and unleashed a powerful right punch.
Just as Sakazuki raised his arm to defend, the punch aimed at his throat changed. It transformed into a spear-hand thrust, targeting his heart.
There wasn't the slightest pause or awkwardness in the transition. It was smooth and natural. As if this had always been the intended move.
Suddenly, Sakazuki raised his left knee and drove it toward Bullet. The boy's heart skipped a beat. His combo had flowed too smoothly. He didn't have time to dodge or block.
Gritting his teeth, he lifted his own right knee, covered in dark Haki, and rammed it forward. Simultaneously, the muscles in his right arm bulged as his spear-hand thrust aimed at Sakazuki's chest grew even faster.
Clang!
Their knees collided with a harsh metallic ring. A wave of shock rippled through Bullet's body, forcing him back. Alarm bells rang in his mind.
'Not good!'
His spear-hand strike, meant for the heart, wavered slightly with the sudden recoil. In that moment, Sakazuki's left hand shot forward.
Crack!
His index and middle fingers clamped down on Bullet's thrusting hand.
A sharp sound sliced through the air from below. Sakazuki's right leg had swung up, lashing out like a whip toward the boy's left side.
Bullet threw up his left fist and smashed downward to block it. But as his punch came down, his body tilted slightly off balance.
His eyes widened. On a battlefield, even the smallest misstep could prove fatal.
Still, he went through with the strike anyway, betting everything on it. But to his shock, Sakazuki's whip-like leg abruptly pulled back mid-swing.
Bullet's stance broke completely. His pupils shrank. Then, the retracted leg suddenly stiffened and snapped forward again. A straight kick blasted into his stomach.
Whoosh—
Boom!
A shadow tore through the air as he crashed into the railing. He flipped over and hit the deck hard. ƒreewebɳovel.com
Even as pain flared through him, Bullet's instincts had already kicked in. His body responded before his mind did.
He shifted into an offensive stance, stomped down, and vanished from sight. Twisting his waist mid-spin, he launched a ferocious kick at Sakazuki.
Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack!...
The sounds of fists and feet clashing rang out in rapid succession.
With Sakazuki holding back and meeting him blow-for-blow, Bullet could unleash everything without restraint. For the first time in his life, he felt truly free in battle.
His breath didn't falter. Instead, he fought harder with every exchange. The intense thuds of flesh hitting stirred the marines surrounding them. They couldn't hold back anymore. One by one, they jumped up and found sparring partners.
The entire warship erupted into a chaotic brawl.
Carlo watched the scene, shaking his head with a light chuckle before walking off to instruct the chefs to prepare more meat for the night.
The clang of blows rang on for a while.
Bullet was sent flying again. He got up, wiped a thin trail of blood from the corner of his mouth, and looked at Sakazuki.
"Vice Admiral, be careful. I've got a move I can't fully control. It was something I accidentally triggered on the battlefield before. Watch yourself."
