One Piece: I'm Destined to Be the Son-in-Law King!-Chapter 158: Executive VS Executive
Chapter 158 - Executive VS Executive
As the sun began to set, big, crackling fires were lit along the beach.
The Red Hair Pirates and the Marines of the 11th Division, with their ships close by, hurried to set up their camps on the sand. It almost looked like a contest to see who could make the biggest and best camp.
Barto, holding a stick of wood, scratched a line in the sand that divided the two groups.
"Hehehe! Everything on this side of the line is ours, and that side is yours! Don't even think about crossing over!" he yelled, puffing out his chest.
"Hey you guys, bring out the good smokes and drinks. Let's show these poor pirates what real quality is!" someone shouted from the Marine side.
"I always thought the top guys in a Four Emperors crew would be like giant monsters, eight meters tall or something. Turns out, they're nothing special," another Marine said with a sneer.
"Oops, sorry! Didn't mean to call you little weaklings..."
When it came to insults, Barto and his crew were masters. They could probably wake the dead with their taunts.
Little weaklings, huh?
The faces of the Red Hair Pirates grew dark, and veins popped out on their heads.
Are these guys really Marines?
"Who wants to teach this punk a lesson?" one of the pirates asked, cracking his knuckles.
"Not me," another replied quickly, stepping back.
The top pirates didn't want to fight someone so annoying. It would be embarrassing. They'd rather send in the lower-ranking guys.
The pirate leaders looked at each other, and their crew knew what to do. They swarmed to the line, yelling insults and curses.
"Hey, you wanna fight?" one of them yelled.
"Come on, then! Who's scared?" a Marine shouted back.
Barto rolled up his sleeves, ready to go.
Except for his boss with the Black Hair, he wasn't afraid of anyone.
Soon, a circle was drawn in the sand on the line, and Barto jumped in, hands on his hips, acting tough.
Inside the Marine camp, Lu Yun hurried to report. "Sir, Barto's fighting the Red Hair Pirates!"
"Yeah, let them play," Roya said, waving his hand. He could sense what was going on outside. It was just kids being kids, nothing to worry about.
"It's ready," Roya said, picking up his chopsticks. He put a piece of grilled fish into Yamato's mouth. The girl loved fish.
"Yummy!" Yamato said, holding her cheeks and smiling happily.
After she had eaten enough, Yamato grabbed her big club, eager to fight. She loved fighting strong people.
"Roya, can I go fight?" she asked, her eyes shining.
"Of course," Roya said with a smile. He had already told Barto to start some fights, but to follow the rules and stay in the circle, so things wouldn't get out of hand.
Heh, trying to scare me with your Conqueror's Haki?
This was a world where strength was everything.
Respect had to be earned in battle!
Being too nice just made people look down on you!
"Wait, I'm going too," Roya said, standing up.
Together with his assistant and Yamato, he walked out of the camp. He could see the lively circle where people were fighting.
The lower-ranking members of both sides were standing around the circle, cheering for their own fighters.
The mood was pretty good.
"Yay! Major Barto wins!" someone shouted.
The Red Hair Pirates were not happy.
"Using his barrier power is cheating!" one of them complained.
"Hehehe! You're too kind!" Barto said with a grin.
"Nobody's being kind!" a pirate yelled back.
The pirates were annoyed, but they couldn't do anything about it. Barto's power was strong, like a turtle shell.
"Captain!"
"Boss, we need help!"

The pirates had no choice but to ask their leaders for help.
"That guy's power is a pain," one of the pirates said.
Shanks and his top guys were watching the fight closely. Barto's power was tricky. Even for a strong leader, winning wasn't a sure thing.
Some powers were just unfair.
"I'll go," Limejuice, the fighter, said, standing up. He was the fastest of the leaders, so it would be easier for him to find a way around Barto's defense.
"Bang!"
Limejuice stepped on the air and flew over the crowd, landing in the circle. His movements were so graceful that even the Marines were impressed.
He's doing the Moonwalk!
"Hehehe! One of their top guys is coming out!" Barto said, grinning and holding up his middle finger. An invisible barrier appeared in front of him. He felt safe and sound.
"My defense is the best. No one can beat it," he said confidently.
"We'll see about that," Limejuice said, raising his electric rod. Electricity crackled around it. Touching it would paralyze anyone.
"Whoosh!"
Limejuice disappeared from where he was standing.
"Huh? Where'd he go?" Barto said, confused.
Barto couldn't see him at all. The next moment, the electric rod hit the barrier, and electricity spread all over it.
"Even electricity can't get through," Limejuice said, surprised.
But this attack was just to test things out, and he had learned what he needed to know.
Even though the attack didn't break the defense, the stray sparks of electricity showed how big the barrier was.
"Electro Spark!"
Limejuice turned into a streak of light, darting through the air like lightning. In a flash, he was behind Barto.
"Thump."
A hand wearing a white glove touched Barto's shoulder.
Only then did Barto realize what was happening.
Too fast!
He should have covered himself in the barrier.
"Buzz!"
Sparks flew, and Barto shook and fell to the ground.
Outside the circle, Roya shook his head. He wasn't surprised.
Barto's body wasn't strong enough. Once someone figured out his power, it was easy to find a way to beat him, like using speed.
Changing the shape of the barrier took time and quick thinking.
And the barrier could only cover so much. If he covered himself completely for defense, it would be hard to attack.
He couldn't just hide in a shell forever.
"Commodore Hina is going in!" someone shouted.
Hina walked into the circle.
They didn't often get a chance to fight a top member of a Four Emperors crew. Hina and Smoker didn't want to miss it. They wanted to see how much stronger they had become.
"It's a woman," Limejuice said, frowning, but he didn't say anything else. He stood still, waiting for Hina to make a move.
"Be careful. Hina won't hold back," Hina said, and black cages came out of her arms, surrounding the whole circle and quickly closing in on Limejuice.
"Clasping Feather Cage!"
"Clang!"
The black cage missed.
"So fast. Hina couldn't even see him!" someone said.
Hina looked up at her opponent in the air, her face serious.
She knew he was fast, but seeing him up close made her feel an incredible pressure.
Even with her Observation Haki, she couldn't keep up with his speed.
Hina raised her hand.
"Black Spear Array!"
Dozens of black spears shot at Limejuice in the air.
"Not a bad power. If it were Lucky Roux or the others, they might have trouble, but you're facing me," Limejuice said.
He stepped on the air, easily dodging the spears, and in a flash, he was right in front of Hina.
The electric rod stopped at Hina's neck.
"Hina loses," she said simply, lowering her arms.
The difference in strength was too great.
The two captains losing made the Marines feel down, and they realized how strong the Four Emperors crew really was.
"Wahaha! Let me go!"
Yamato jumped into the circle, her wild eyes staring at Limejuice. She was ready to fight.
Just one look made Limejuice sweat.
What's going on?
This girl has an incredibly strong aura!
