One Piece: Fist of the World-Chapter 52: Gray Trapped in the Warship
Chapter 52 - 52: Gray Trapped in the Warship
Genos's clothes had been torn in the previous battle, and Gula could see there wasn't a single scar on his body. Yet, the blood remaining on his fingers was still warm, leaving no doubt that the attack had indeed pierced his opponent's chest.
Devil Fruit user? Is he a superhuman with super-healing abilities? Or some other special Devil Fruit? Thoughts flashed through Gula's mind, but his expression remained unchanged. However, judging from the attack, the opponent's strength isn't that great.
The next blow would completely defeat him!
"Put these two in the fish tank first and keep an eye on them," Neru instructed Penguin and Shachi to confine Mr. 5 and Ms. Valentine in the fish tank. Since Law's strength would be needed soon and he had to recover as quickly as possible, Law hadn't cut off their heads. Penguin and Shachi had to hold them in the water, leaving only their heads exposed to ensure they could breathe. After all, they were Devil Fruit users, especially the one with the afro; it would be a headache if he recovered and used his ability at such a critical moment.
"What about the warship's gunfire?" Following Neru's instructions, they put the two into the fish tank. Penguin and Shachi then looked worriedly at the warship not far away. The densely packed black muzzles seemed ready to fire a shell at any second.
"Their people are still on our side, so they shouldn't be so reckless as to fire artillery shells directly," Law explained as he recovered his strength as quickly as possible.
"But that might not be the case later..." Neru looked at the warship that had stopped not far away and wasn't moving forward. He then walked into a room at the bow and pushed out a cart filled with various guns and ammunition. This was the mobile arsenal he had asked Gray to prepare for him.
Without continuing to pay attention to the battle between Genos and Nia, Neru carefully sorted out the guns. Law had a more important task and needed to conserve his energy. If the opponent launched an artillery attack, he would be the only one to intercept it.
On the opposing warship, Major Kiel held a telescope, observing the situation on the Polaris. Catwoman Nia was the person the Ernest family wanted to capture alive. Now, Mr. Gula and Mr. Neo were fighting not far from the pirate ship. But strangely, no one else they brought was there. Black Spear Neru and Death Surgeon Law were both on board. The only one not on board was their captain, Mad Blade Rhodes.
Was he the one fighting on the island? He tilted his head slightly and looked towards the north of Tiger Shark Island. From the beginning, a terrifying sound had been coming from that direction. Even from such a distance, he could still feel the vibration, as if two giants were fighting there.
That Mad Blade Rhodes could actually hold out for so long against Vice Admiral Onigumo! Major Kiel thought silently. With such strength, he should have entered the Grand Line long ago. But... Impel Down is also on the Grand Line. In terms of results, there's no difference.
Putting down the telescope, Major Kiel instructed the person next to him, "Keep an eye on the pirate ship. Once you see them raising their sails and preparing to set sail, open fire at full force!"
"Ah?" Hearing Major Kiel's order, the Navy officer next to him was slightly stunned. "But Mr. Gula and Mr. Neo are still over there, right?" He is an important figure in one of the member countries of the World Government.
"Are you questioning my orders?" Major Kiel looked coldly at the Navy officer who spoke. "We are the subordinates of Vice Admiral Onigumo, representing the Navy's Justice. Those who hesitate don't deserve to be here! If you allow sin to return to the sea because of a moment's hesitation, can you bear the consequences?"
Captured by Major Kiel's murderous gaze, the Marine who had just spoken couldn't help but take two steps back.
"If the enemy shows any intention to set sail, cover them with full firepower!"
"Everything for justice!"
"For justice!"
"I seem to hear some noise?" In the warship's power control room, Gray, who was engrossed in his research, suddenly spoke up, asking Captain Garland beside him.
"I just felt the movement of the warship. They must have discovered the enemy pirate ship and are preparing to move towards it." Unlike Gray, who was immersed in studying the blueprints, Captain Garland had been paying attention to the warship's status. The two warships that arrived this time had been in close contact via Den Den Mushi, and they seemed to have just received Major Kiel's notification.
"I see." Gray didn't show it, but he was anxious. I don't know if Nia understood what I meant. I wonder if they'll be in such a hurry to escape that they'll leave me on the warship. I don't want to join the Navy!
"What is the principle behind the changes Dr. Thomas just made here?" Luca stroked his beard, frowning as he looked at the transmission equipment before him. After studying the blueprints, Dr. Thomas had even compared them with the actual objects in the power room. It was clearly the first time he'd seen these devices and machines, yet he was able to describe their various functions exactly, which made Luca admire him.
He is indeed a scientist, completely different from a repairman like me!
However, when he saw the transmission equipment, Dr. Thomas said there were some problems. The warship's transmission equipment had indeed malfunctioned before, but Luca had repaired it according to the blueprints and his own experience. The trial run after the repair was completed was also completely trouble-free.
So, where exactly is the problem? Is it that my understanding is wrong? But I did carry out the repairs strictly according to the blueprints, so there shouldn't be any problems. So why did the trial run go more smoothly after Dr. Thomas made the changes? It almost reached the performance of the device when it was first launched; it's almost like a brand-new device. Is this the strength of top scientists?
Luca stared at the transmission equipment that Gray had modified, thinking hard but to no avail. However, he only admired Gray even more.
What to do!? Gray had no idea of Luca's admiration for him; all he felt was anxiety.
If I run to the deck now, I should be able to be seen by the people on the Polaris, but then again, I might also be recognized by the Navy! Since he didn't have a bounty, it wasn't surprising that the Marines men didn't recognize him. After boarding the warship, he kept his hat lowered, trying not to show his face. Moreover, with Captain Garland leading, most people wouldn't pay much attention to him.
However, Gray didn't dare to gamble that the Marines on the two warships wouldn't recognize him. What if someone has more detailed information and recognizes my identity? Wouldn't that mean everything is over? I'm on a Navy ship now! What to do now!?
