One Night Stand With Alexander Blackwood-Chapter 75 — Seventy-five
After a while, Alexander decided that it was time for Serena to return to bed.
"I don’t want to go to bed. The sun is still up in the air." She protested. "I have to be productive." She whined.
Alexander, on the other hand, didn’t listen to her complaints as he directly carried her into his arms.
"Doctor’s orders." He said without batting an eyelid. "You need maximum bed rest."
When they finally got to the room, Alexander gently laid her on the bed.
"Here, have this." He extended his hands towards her.
Serena eyed the tablet in his hands suspiciously before her gaze darted to him. "What’s that?" She asked, studying his expression.
"Medicine." He answered. "You were drugged by Liam. This tablet is to clear the remnants left in your body." He explained carefully.
"How come I didn’t know about this?" Serena asked, her hand holding her chin.
"You were asleep. Alright, that’s enough questions for today. Take it." He instructed.
Serena, trusting Alexander wholeheartedly and not doubting a word from him, took the tablet and placed it in her mouth.
There was a cool aftertaste as the tablet melted in her mouth. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
"Why does it taste this good?" She muttered.
Alexander shrugged then passed her the glass of water he poured. She took it, and drank it in one gulp.
"Thank you." She said after handing it over to him.
"Sleep," Alexander whispered, rubbing her head calmly.
"When did you learn how to cajole a lady?" Serena asked with a teasing smile in her eyes.
"I didn’t learn. It just comes naturally when I’m with you."
"You didn’t do the same for Rhea?" Serena probed, her brows lifted out of curiosity. Although a smile was dancing on her face, where no one was looking, she gripped a fistful of sheets.
Although she had her fair share of exes, just the thought of Alexander doing the same thing to another woman irked her completely.
It seems Alexander could read her thoughts from her expression as he answered. "I haven’t done this for Rhea, nor any other lady. As I said, it comes naturally when I’m with you."
She finally let go of the sheets, a genuine smile touching her lips. "That’s good. I hope it remains this way." She whispered the last statement under her breath, thinking Alexander wouldn’t hear her.
Unsurprisingly, he did. But he didn’t utter a word. Instead he had a knowing smile as he continued with his actions.
It didn’t take a long time for Serena to drift into a deep sleep. When he was sure that she was asleep, he smiled softly, planting a feather-like kiss on her forehead.
"Sleep well while I fight your battles for you. You do not have to worry." He whispered against her forehead as he walked out of the room.

Station>
Alexander strode into the station calmly, one hand in his pocket, and the other holding his phone.
The chief of the station had already been informed that Alexander was on his way. When he saw Alexander walk in, he walked directly to him, offering him a greasy smile.
"Mr. Blackwood, it’s an honor to have you here. What would you like to do? Just give the word and I will have them serve you properly."
"Take me to his cell." Alexander instructed.
Confusion flashed through the chief’s face. "Who?"
Alexander was about to reply when he heard his name being called out.
"Mr. Blackwood."
He turned, and his eye connected with the junior officer from days ago.
Alexander’s expression visibly softened as he beckoned for him to come.
"You are here. You didn’t inform me that you’ll be coming today. I’d have been the one to receive you."
"Michael, since when were you this acquainted with Mr. Blackwood?" The chief asked with a calm smile, but if one looked further, they could see a trace of maliciousness and hatred flashing through his eyes.
"I—"
"Take me there at once. The more time I waste, the less positive response I get." Alexander cut him off instantly.
"Chief, I’d explain everything to you later. Mr. Blackwood is top priority." Michael explained, then turned to Alexander. "Sir, shall we?"
They both left, but the chief was not willing to be upstaged by a mere junior officer, (in his thoughts).
"Prepare the interrogation room. Mr. Blackwood would be interrogating the suspect."
A few minutes later, the room was ready.
The interrogation room was deliberately unwelcoming.
Bare concrete walls closed in on the small space, their dull gray surface stripped of any warmth.
A single metal table sat at the center, pressed firmly to the floor, with two chairs facing each other. One was positioned neatly, reserved.
The other was slightly off-kilter, as if it had been shoved back in frustration more than once.
Overhead, a harsh fluorescent light flickered intermittently, buzzing faintly like an irritated insect.
It cast sharp shadows that exaggerated every movement, every breath, every twitch of muscle. There were neither windows nor clock. Time in that room, existed only to be broken.
The air smelled faintly of disinfectant and old fear.
Michael opened the door and gestured inward. "This way, sir."
Alexander stepped in without hesitation.
He didn’t sit immediately. Instead, he placed his phone on the table with deliberate slowness and loosened the cuffs of his shirt.
The small, casual movement carried an unmistakable warning. It wasn’t just relaxation, rather it was preparation.
A moment later, the door creaked open again.
This time, the suspect was led in. His hands were cuffed behind his back, shoulders tense, eyes darting around the room as though searching for an escape that didn’t exist.
The bravado he’d worn earlier was gone, replaced by unease that clung to him like sweat.
Alexander finally lifted his gaze.
Their eyes met.
The man stiffened.
Alexander didn’t speak. He simply pulled out the chair opposite and sat down, crossing one leg over the other with a blank expression. There was only a trace of certainty flashing through his eyes. It felt like he was in control... or perhaps he was.
"Mr... Mr. Blackwood?" He stammered.
"It seems you know me." Alexander smiled, but the smile didn’t reach his face.
The suspect was led to sit opposite Alexander.
For a moment, silence stretched between them.
Ten seconds.
Twenty seconds
One minute.
Finally, Alexander opened his mouth to speak, breaking the silence between them.
"Do you know why you’re here?"
The suspect tightened his hands into fists as his eyes met with Alexander’s.
Alexander’s lips slowly curved. Let the game begin. He thought to himself.
