This battle had unknowingly commenced, bringing with it inexplicably mysterious opponents. Though Kevin was surprised, he faced the situation calmly.

He knew he was not fighting alone. However, he had no idea what bizarre thing had trapped the others. His immediate priority was to chop down the Freak in front of him before he could concern himself with anyone else. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

The Corrosive Mist sprayed by the monster astonished not only Kevin but also the other two!

Along with his surprise, Wizard Reed felt somewhat relieved. As expected of a creature summoned by the Dark Force, its overall strength is not to be underestimated. Who would have thought that a dismembered corpse could launch such a fierce attack? The incantation resonated in his mind again; clearly, this monster was still under his guidance. But the fact that this monster can actually set traps on its own is a pleasant surprise. It's a rare occurrence for a monster in this world to possess such consciousness. I must keep this monster under tight control. If I could possess a unique Summoned Creature like the others, I might one day be second only to Willem in the Black Crow. For now, however, there are still one or two individuals ahead of me… But since the Boss sent me, it means he trusts me. I absolutely cannot waste this trust. More importantly, I can't waste the dark spells and magical texts given to me by the Boss… If I could truly achieve the Taming of this Freak and establish a contract with it, I would wield power second to none within the Black Crow…

It was thanks to the Freak's spray of Corrosive Mist that he found an opportunity for his thoughts to wander. Without this chance, he would probably still be instinctively locked in a fierce battle against those other forces. Fortunately, their Spirit Power was now completely drawn to the Freak—although Reed knew that "Freak" wasn't an entirely accurate term for this creature.

Seeing the green Corrosive Mist erupt, Milo was instantly filled with fury. How could I have overlooked such a simple truth? This monster is a Freak! I ignored such an obvious fact, still wondering how this hacked-up monster could possibly counterattack! I overcomplicated a simple problem! He was furious with himself.

What is a Freak, anyway? Isn't it just something pieced together from a collection of corpse fragments? Such things are inherently fragments. Even if hacked to bits or blasted to ash by demolition spells, they remain fragments. As long as these fragments are reassembled, they become Freaks. This is similar in principle to the Soul Puppets of Dark Wizards, though the method differs. Soul Puppets are constructs filled with Spirit Power, while Freaks are created using the Exchange Beast Transmutation Method from Alchemy... Although there are significant differences in the details, their fundamental nature isn't vastly different. Both are practices despised by fellow Adventurers with Class.

Milo slapped his forehead, berating himself. How could I overlook such a basic problem? Deciphering Dark Alchemy's Alchemy Equations is my forte! That Corrosive Mist might be troublesome for others, but for us Alchemists, isn't it just a typical alchemical concoction? There are plenty of Alchemy Potions to neutralize corrosive gases and liquids. Even an Alchemy apprentice or an Alchemy Servant knows this. Yet I, a Golden Seat Alchemist in the Alchemy Workshop, actually forgot! To deal with this monster, why would we need the Quick Blade Ulti of Blue Blood League Guard Kevin? My Alchemy Equations as an Alchemist are more than sufficient. All I need to do is determine which potion can successfully neutralize this green smoke… Why use an ox cleaver to kill a chicken? The Blue Blood League Guard's strengths should be reserved for later. This is my time to act!

Without another word, Milo wrote down an Alchemy Equation for an Exchange Beast. He knew this Exchange Beast would disintegrate into nothingness upon stepping onto the corroded land. However, as long as the beast was coated with a neutralizing Alchemy Potion, the green smoke would vanish the moment the beast disintegrated.

All he needed to do now was test which potion could successfully neutralize the green smoke…

Why use a sledgehammer to crack a nut? The Blue Blood League Guard's talents would be needed later; now, it was his turn.

The Exchange Beast Milo created this time was a sparrow. This flying creature carried the materials needed to establish the Alchemy Equation. Once the sparrow disintegrated, these materials would fall. If he could establish the Alchemy Equation before these materials were corroded, then the green smoke could only await its neutralization.

All this was part of Milo's plan, and it proved to be highly effective.

The corrosive effect was potent; the sparrow disintegrated into a mere skeleton before it could even get close to the dismembered monster. The materials it carried began to dissolve into the green mist…

In that very instant, Milo flipped his glowing palm, and a Spirit Arrow shot straight into the green mist…

This Corrosive Mist could corrode any physical substance, but it could not corrode Spirit Power. Moreover, this particular Spirit Power happened to be an Alchemy Equation…

Just as the materials were about to be completely corroded, a silver light enveloped them. Then, with a BANG, purple smoke erupted within the green mist. The purple smoke quickly began devouring the green mist. Soon, the withered, deathly colors of the affected area faded, revealing the original appearance of Moonflow Stream!

This transformation startled everyone present again; no one knew where the purple smoke had come from.

Milo knew. His successful strike indicated his luck had been good lately…

Thus, he became even bolder, releasing more specially prepared Exchange Beasts like sparrows.

Although these Exchange Beasts were small, they all carried the necessary materials for the neutralizing potion. Milo delivered the Alchemy Equations into the mist via Spirit Arrows. In an instant, a myriad of silver arrows continuously activated the materials within the green mist that were on the verge of being corroded.

BANG! BANG! The purple smoke swirled within the green mist, colliding and reacting… It currently appeared that the purple smoke was gaining the upper hand.

Before long, the once-barren ground lost its lifeless appearance, and the familiar sight of Moonflow Stream gradually returned…

This change brought a fresh headache for Wizard Reed. One wave has barely passed, and another rises! This is unbelievable. One Spirit Attack ends, and another immediately begins. Is this premeditated? Are they trying to wear us down with a war of attrition? Wizard Reed couldn't help but think along these lines…

However, the thread in his mind connecting him to the Freak twitched again. What does this twitch signify? Wizard Reed did not yet have full control over this Summoned Creature. He felt like a complete amateur, utterly clueless about what to do next!
