OMG! Tyrant's Pampered Baby Is a Valued Princess-Chapter 787: Why Is Marquis Wan So Foolish?
"Oh! That can’t do, second and third sons, go help the honored guests." Granny Ma called her two sons.
Zhi’er led the way, and soon a pile of rice and flour was carried through the door by the sons of the Ma family.
Granny Ma saw that it was indeed as Zhi’er had said, and a smile appeared on her face.
"The Marquis is so generous, this... this is enough for us to eat for a whole year, thank you Marquis, you are truly a great man!"
When Zhi’er heard someone praise Feng Fuce, she was overjoyed.
The little one quickly said, "Of course, the Marquis may seem indifferent, but he is actually very kind!"
After she finished speaking, she winked at Feng Fuce who was beside her.
Feng Fuce’s expression remained calm, his lips barely curved in response, giving her a fleeting smile.
Granny Ma and her sons expressed their gratitude to Feng Fuce.
"My eldest and fourth daughters are already married, now at home it’s just these sons left, waiting to build houses and marry, so although it’s hard at times, I can still manage."
Granny Ma welcomed Zhi’er and Feng Fuce into the house, pouring tea as she spoke.
Zhi’er glanced at the bottom of the teacups, noticing some dirt still hadn’t been cleaned.
Her smile stiffened, but she still held the cup reluctantly, just without drinking.
She didn’t want to ruin Granny Ma’s intention.
Feng Fuce didn’t even touch the cup, just sat coldly next to Zhi’er.
The little one asked, "Then why is it just you farming, Granny? Why don’t your sons help?"
Granny Ma waved her hand and laughed, "They don’t need to, I can manage on my own."
Zhi’er blinked her round eyes, unsure of what to say.
So many young and strong sons, yet Granny Ma couldn’t bear to let them go out to work.
Just then, Feng Fuce suddenly spoke up, "Careful."
He reached out, pulling Zhi’er into his arms.
The next moment, the tiles above them came crashing down, stirring up dust.
"Cough, cough..." Zhi’er waved her little hand to ward off the dust.
Feng Fuce held her, stepping outside the door.
Granny Ma ran out to see a big hole in the roof, and she patted her leg anxiously.
"Old Third, didn’t I tell you to fix the roof last time? How come you just smeared a layer of mud!" Granny Ma called to her son.
Old Third Ma came out of the kitchen, "It makes no difference how many layers. But, Mom, you should check on Fifth Brother, he put all the rice sent by the Marquis into his own rice bin!"
As soon as he said that, the other brothers weren’t happy, quickly going over to check.
In the end, they started arguing right in front of Zhi’er and Feng Fuce.
The brothers argued nonstop over a bit of food, almost coming to blows.
Finally, it was Granny Ma who managed to intervene, saying, "I’ll share my portion with you all, that should work!"
Only then did the sons have no objections.
Feng Fuce looked at them suspiciously.
Zhi’er looked at Granny Ma with pity.
At her age, with white hair, she was still being exploited by her good-for-nothing sons.
The little one remembered the snacks she brought in the carriage.
Then she said, "Brother Fuce, let’s go get the pastries for them."
The two of them stepped out, and Feng Fuce suddenly said, "I just realized I left my sword at their house, wait for me here while I go fetch it."
Zhi’er nodded obediently, "Okay."
Feng Fuce turned around, his face suddenly turning cold.
He walked back to the Ma family’s gate, and sure enough, heard the Ma family whispering inside—
"Let’s keep acting so they think we’re pitiful and try to get more silver from Marquis Wan!"
"Yeah, we originally thought he was an Evil God, but it turns out he’s so foolish, actually fell for our trick. He must be feeling guilty, so tricking money out of him is actually doing a good deed!"
Just as they finished speaking, Feng Fuce suddenly pushed the door open.
Granny Ma and her sons turned pale immediately.
"Ma-Ma-Marquis Wan, why did you return?"
