OMG!!! My Crippled Husband is a Hot, Powerful CEO-Chapter 95 – They Seem to Be Trouble
Chapter 95: Chapter 95 – They Seem to Be Trouble
Alex was the first to wake up after over two and a half hours of sleep, which was due to all the alcohol.
If not for that, he would have woken up earlier. The pain had reduced, so he decided to sponge himself a little since he couldn’t have a normal bath due to the scars.
Then he remembered how Joanna almost caught him earlier. It was strange how he seemed to care so much about her feelings when this whole thing was just a contract.
Well, he also did promise that for as long as the contract existed, he was going to treat her as a wife, except for anything intimate happening between them.
He thought about calling Betty to change the sheets but from how peaceful Aiden looked on the bed, he decided to wait until he woke up.
After sponging himself and ensuring his injured areas were not affected, Alex put on casual clothes and was about to go downstairs for breakfast when Aiden woke up.
Alex had already unlocked the door and was about to turn the knob when he heard Aiden’s voice behind him.
"Alex, how are you up already?"
This was the shortest sleep Aiden had and he still wanted more, especially after losing a lot of sleep over the week. He was awoken by Alex’s movements because he was a light sleeper.
"I don’t sleep much, but you can rest more," Alex encouraged him. Aiden refused, feeling like a prisoner confined to Alex’s room.
If not for Joan, he would have stayed to use Alex’s private gym, but now was not the time. "No, I have to go and take care of some things."
"Allow your injuries to heal before taking care of anything physical," Alex advised. Aiden smiled.
Years back, he endured Alex’s hostility as the cold man could not trust him easily. However, once he gained his trust, everything changed. Aiden was not as gentle as Alex, he loved the wild life and didn’t enjoy being there.
"Nothing physical. Spending a whole day with you in the name of a wedding isn’t my style, so I have to make sure things are in perspective first," Aiden said seriously, and Alex nodded.
"I won’t stop you then, but aren’t you hungry?"
"I am, but I don’t want to inconvenience you. I will eat at home," Aiden said, getting off the bed. Alex noticed that his wound was not severe, which explained Aiden’s energy to move around.
"I can have Betty bring you food. It’s no trouble," Alex suggested.
"No, let me just go. I hope there won’t be any more problems to send us out," Aiden said thoughtfully.
However, if anything dangerous arose, he might handle it alone with a few of Salvador’s men before informing Alex.
"I hope so too, and if things align, I will meet you at the hotel," Alex reminded him, knowing how challenging it would be for Aiden to wear a suit.
The guy preferred leather jackets and sleeveless shirts.
The hotel was near the wedding venue, so both Alex and Joanna would move there two days before the event, staying in separate rooms.
"In that case, I will use the secret exit. I don’t want to make your wife suspicious," Aiden said.
Joanna was intelligent, but Alex had outsmarted her a couple of times because this was his territory. However, that did not mean he would always win.
"I wouldn’t have allowed you to use the main entrance anyway," Alex shrugged, feeling hungry due to the amount of alcohol he had consumed before sleeping.
Aiden walked into the closet but came out confused. "Did you change the exit? I can’t locate it."
It had been months since they used that exit, and whenever they did, Alex would change it. Aiden would not find it, no matter how Alex described it. So, Alex rose from the wheelchair and walked into the closet.
There was a mirror, and as soon as his face reflected in it, it slid to the side, revealing a tunnel through the wall.
Aiden was stunned as this was far more advanced than Alex’s last secret exit. "This is massive. You even used facial recognition," he shook his head before Alex helped him through the tunnel.
"Sometimes, I wonder how you are able to keep up faking being a cripple. My legs would have grown numb if I were you."
Alex smiled. "If only you knew the advantage in this, you would have forgone the consequence and tried it."
He positioned the mirror back before Aiden could respond. No one would be able to tell it had been tampered with, but Alex knew better.
"Now I have to change the secret exit once again," he thought to himself.
Lost in thoughts about the new mechanism to use this time, he realized he wanted something different and more advanced each time.
While looking in the mirror, he noticed a bloodstain on his shirt and quickly removed it. As he dressed the bullet wound once more, he heard a faint but distinct sound coming from the exit.
Opening it, he found Aiden trapped there and trying to come out, and Alex immediately sensed that there was a problem, feeling overwhelmed.
"Why are you still here?" he scolded. Aiden handed his phone to Alex and got out of the tunnel.
"The Munchinos have been arrested, but they seem to be causing trouble," Aiden explained. Alex’s expression darkened as he read the police report.
It was unfortunate that everything had escalated so quickly, leaving him with little time to address the situation.
"They will all regret it."
Alex calmly selected a clean shirt and emerged from the closet, with Aiden trailing behind.
He pondered how to address the situation, though he already had a plan in mind.
As Alex was putting on the shirt, the door suddenly swung open, revealing Joanna standing there, her face drained of color.
"Damn it!" Alex cursed as he hurried over to her, catching her before she collapsed, cradling her in his arms.
"Oh no, what should we do now?" Aiden asked, feeling helpless.
