OMG!!! My Crippled Husband is a Hot, Powerful CEO-Chapter 87 - I’m the one who saved her
Chapter 87: Chapter 87 - I’m the one who saved her
In a secluded location, a man casually removed his doctor’s coat and turned to the woman beside him.
"How did it go?" he inquired.
The woman smiled, her slender fingers elegantly running through her curly hair.
"It went perfectly, but I could only bribe the day, caregiver. The night one remains unaware of our actions."
The man furrowed his brow and sat down beside her. "And Dion?"
The woman’s smile widened as she recalled her encounter with the young woman. By adding something to Dion’s water, she had successfully convinced her that she was her savior.
"She now believes I’m the one who saved her. How did you manage that?" she asked curiously, prompting a chuckle from the man, who felt a sense of triumph.
Avoiding direct confrontation with the enemy was crucial to avoid detection, so he operated from the shadows, closely monitoring Alex.
"It’s a special drug. You’ll need to go back again. I can’t allow Alex to marry Joan. She belongs to me and always will."
"He appears to be wealthy," the woman remarked seriously, to which the man nodded in agreement. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
"Yes, and formidable. But as long as he remains unaware of your involvement, we have the upper hand."
But Dion is so cute," she smiled, relishing the time she spent with the little girl.
"That’s why you should marry Alex and be close to him. I have a lifetime supply of that drug," he said earnestly. If Alex marries his sister, then Joanna would be his.
There was no way he was going to let Joanna go, having lost her once. If given the chance, he would have treated her memory loss, but Alex had to intervene and prevent him from seeing Joan, claiming her to be his wife.
"Side effects?" His sister asked, and Doctor Colton pursed his lips thoughtfully.
"The side effect is what makes her see you as her savior. Just make sure the wedding doesn’t happen."
Over a week ago, Colton was on his way home from work after Joanna had promised to have dinner with him when he was ambushed by strange men.
He was taken to an unknown location, and waiting for him there was a man in a wheelchair.
Colton was taken aback by the man’s directness and asked seriously, "What do you want?"
The man did not beat around the bush as Colton expected, telling him directly.
"You are meddling with my wife, and I am considering either killing you or transferring you," the man in the wheelchair threatened.
Colton felt his heart race as he realized the seriousness of the situation. The man’s threat indicated there was more to him than Colton had initially thought.
"I will accept the transfer and assure you that I will never see her again," Colton replied, trying to diffuse the tension.
Alex was skeptical of Colton’s sudden compliance, sensing that there might be ulterior motives at play.
"Why did you give in so easily? I thought you loved her," Alex questioned.
Colton’s smile was devoid of warmth as he responded, "What good is love without life to enjoy it? I am not Romeo, and with Joan’s memory loss, she is certainly not my Juliet."
Satisfied with Colton’s explanation, Alex instructed, "Prepare his transfer."
Colton confided in his sister, revealing his true intentions, "Alex may think he has won by my agreement to the transfer, but it’s just a distraction. I will make him lose everything."
His sister, however, expressed concern, "If he loses everything, how will he take care of me?"
Colton smiled, "You got me. I suppose making the marriage impossible would suffice. If he can’t find Joanna, then he’ll have to rely on you."
His sister smiled back, "The people you hired are quite expensive. Are they Salvador’s men?"
"Yes, they are. I’m still gathering information about Alex. His position as the CEO of King’s multinational isn’t secure, and Logan is also on our side."
His sister was thrilled, "Logan King? I heard he’s supposed to be the CEO of King’s multinational, and Alex is just filling in for Logan’s bedridden elder brother."
"That seems to be the case. Now, where is Joanna? Alex will be surprised to learn how many people want his downfall." Colton dialed a number, and the response was immediate.
"I told you Salvador’s men would handle it perfectly. They have Joanna and her bodyguard, so my part is done. I’m leaving the country tonight to avoid any connection to this."
Despite everything, Colton was still anxious about Alex discovering his involvement. Until the wedding was over, he wouldn’t release Joanna or her bodyguard.
"Good. Ensure they don’t harm her, and she must remain unaware of my role. Just make sure she doesn’t show up at the wedding. After it’s done, you can let her go."
The man on the other end of the line assured, "Your instructions are duly noted."
His sister was so excited that she couldn’t contain herself. "Should I go see Dion now? She needs to arrange for me to see Alex, right?"
"Relax, Tess. Alex won’t pay any attention to you now with Joanna missing. If he can’t find her before the wedding, then you can step in and wear her gown. You’re just a little taller than her."
Tess was eager but followed her brother’s advice. "Alright, I’ll trust you. But are you sure the payment to Salvador’s men won’t be traced?"
Colton had a smile on his face. "Do you think I’m that foolish to use my bank account for such a transfer? Logan gave me the money in cash, and I paid Dario in cash through someone else. If the middleman isn’t discovered, there won’t be any confession, and I won’t be exposed."
"You’re a genius," Tess said, hugging him tightly as her phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Hi miss, our boss has installed new surveillance cameras around the house. I suggest you stay out of sight, as he’s been asking about you."
Tess froze instantly, gazing worriedly at her brother.
