"It is too quiet." Adrian stated as he could feel that there were not many people looking at them.

Adrian felt the gazes of not just the people in the city but also other hidden beings. They were not looking at him, but they were looking at Peridot as she held the box. He thought that they would attack or steal the box, but it seems that each of the eyes come from different actions. Adrian is actually quite impressed because they were able to detect the faint traces of spatial energy on the scroll.

They were all masquerading as NPCs which is why Adrian told them to put the scroll in a box. The box they placed the scroll did have some properties of limiting the energy that is being released but it did not completely hide it. Adrian made sure that this is such because greed can only be heightened when a lot of people want something for certain.

"Strange. Why are they not moving? We even made sure to get a luxurious pavilion that can be easily infiltrated." Adrian muttered as he was actually bored.

Adrian thought that he would be able to meet the Branch Merchant Guild Leader of the Eastern Continent, but he did not. He did verify something when he met the assistant branch leader earlier though. He learned that the assistant branch leader is brimming with greed which he actually found amusing.

Adrian could already see the colors of other people's soul and there would indication if they are feeling something. Unlike before, he was already able to detect the greed being hidden by the assistant branch leader. It was like his power to perceive the greedy desires of others have been intensified. He does not know whether he should be impressed or worried because the Primordial Beast of Greed might detect him much easier.

Adrian is troubled that their cover might be blown because of him as he has the passive Greed ability. It might still be at a very low level, but it is definitely helping him in pinpointing potential candidates for beings that could be the Primordial Beast of Greed. It might help him detect their enemy easily but the same could also be said to him. Having the Greed skill might make the Primordial Beast of Greed aware of his position as well.

"Seeing that they are not making a move on us, it seems that the Primordial Beast of Greed is being a bit wary. You said it might be the Branch Merchant Guild Leader of the Eastern Continent but are you sure it will be him?" Kabrakan asked.

"He is the only relative of the Goldenclaw clan that is in the merchant guild. The other Goldenclaw clan members are busy with their own business empire. Also, I told you that the living dead before is from someone called Lady Goldenclaw. If it is not the Branch Merchant Guild Leader of the Eastern Continent, then it might be someone from the Goldenclaw clan." Adrian replied.

"Your tea is served. We have also brought the food that you have ordered as well." A voice from a woman announced.

"Did any of you order something?" Adrian asked the others.

"No. We are busy doing something else." Peridot replied.

"I was busy checking on my stats." Levin Cloud replied.

"I was talking to you the whole time." Kabrakan replied.

They all looked at Adrian but even he did not order any refreshments. Also, they are role playing and any deviation from that will ruin the immersion. Adrian would not order any refreshments and food if he is acting as a guard. Adrian did not answer the call from the door immediately and summoned his weapon instead.

"Please leave the food and tea at the door. We will fetch it after some time according to the mistress." Adrian replied.

"I am sorry, but the pavilion master will definitely punish me if I do not give the food and refreshments while they are still hot. I ask for your understanding as I need this job." The voice of the woman stated.

"Okay then. Please wait a moment as I will escort you inside where the mistress is." Adrian replied.

"Get ready. It seems the number of people observing suddenly increased. There are also three people trying to enter. One is at the roof, the other is entering through the back, and the last one is entering through that window over there." Adrian whispered to his team via the player chat.

"Can you please get the door? The food is now getting cold due to the winds blowing." The voice of the woman stated.

"Coming." Adrian replied as he opened the door.

As soon as Adrian opened the door, a blade suddenly came slashing towards his neck. Adrian stopped time for a second as a reflex. In just one second, Adrian immediately registered the weapon that attempted to kill him. The short blade was about a foot and a half long but incredibly sharp. The light even reflected on the blade which showed how polished it was and just a slight scratch will create a deep wound.

Adrian saw the enemy, but she was not alive at all. The enemy was just like Lady Goldenclaw as it was live dead. The live dead was dressed as a courtesan of the pavilion they were staying at, but Adrian could clearly see that she was already dead. There was life force inside of the live dead, but it was just energy that is keeping her moving and not keeping her alive.

Adrian immediately kicked the small table that is supposed to be where the food was. Adrian could feel it as the live dead's blade did not look clean. There were also bloodstains on the clothes of the live dead. This means that the live dead killed the original courtesan that was supposed to deliver refreshments to them.

"Run!" Adrian shouted as this was a private pavilion and he did not know how many enemies might come to them.

They do not want to be surrounded by enemies which is why the best course of action right now would be to run towards the main street. Also, they must act like they are helpless against an assault as they have yet to reveal their real identities. Adrian's shout signaled Levin Cloud to carry Peridot, but three other live dead appeared before them.

The three live dead came from the directions that Adrian pointed earlier. Kabrakan managed to push the two live dead that pounced towards Levin Cloud and Peridot but the sudden appearance of the own from the roof gave him a bit of a fright. Fortunately, Adrian threw his spear and pierced the live dead to the wall.

"Escape with the masters!" Adrian shouted in a tone that was not that believable as it felt forced.

"Provide a path for us!" Kabrakan replied with great tonality as if he was a real actor.

Adrian took the spear that is currently pinned to the wall and threw it at the live dead woman that attempted to kill him earlier. The live dead courtesan got pinned to the ground as the spear passed through her body cleanly. The long handle of the spear also made the live dead woman unable to move easily.

Adrian pulled his spear from the live dead woman and decapitated her using it. The head of the live dead woman was already disconnected but she was still moving. Whoever created these live dead is an expert that Creepysoo might even praise. Just as Adrian cleared the way out, hands suddenly came out of the ground that grabbed at the ankles of Levin Cloud and Kabrakan.

"Help the Firefeather master and mistress!" Guards suddenly appeared from the outer pavilion entrance.

"Help us quickly!" Levin Cloud shouted as he was also acting out.

The guards that were supposed to help them suddenly charged towards Levin Cloud and Peridot with their weapons instead. Kabrakan raised his shields and blocked all of the incoming attacks. The guards suddenly released their killing intent towards Kabrakan which mean they never wanted to help then in the first place.

"Who sent you?!" Kabrakan asked.

"It does not matter who sent us. All of you will die here and the treasure will be sent to our lord." The fake guards shouted.

The fake guards circled Kabrakan, Levin Cloud, and Peridot but they forgot someone important. Adrian threw his spear straight and came along two other live dead with it. The spear with two live dead skewered directly hit one of the fake guards and pinned them on the wall. The live dead that Adrian pierced was still alive and they craved the flesh of the living. The guard that Adrian pierced along with the live dead is now tormented by them.

"Go! I shall clear the way as you said." Adrian shouted as he took out his spear and sliced the three beings that were skewered by it.
