The group has returned to the village to talk to the village chief about the legends told on how the northern people were created. All of them reached the house of the village chief and waited for her to come. All of them expected that the village chief would be an old woman, but they were surprised that she was in fact someone that look like she is in her forties while having the body of a well-built woman.

"She gives mommy energy." Levin Cloud whispered to Peridot, but the latter slapped his shoulder even though she thinks this as well.

"Thank you for having time for us, village chief." Frey stated as she vowed.

"I will gladly have time for the people that restored our fields. I am even told that it has been restored to perfection just like when it was first blessed by the gods. Some are even ready for harvest because of the great job that our visitors have done. Apologies if some of my people are quite afraid of you. I am the village Chief here and you can call me, Taran." Village Chief Taran stated.

"Are the tattooed runes on your bodies a symbol for something, Village Chief Taran?" Levin Cloud asked.

"Ah! You mean the sacred runes that are on our bodies? They are not just a symbol, but it also helps or people in fighting against the cold. Every five years starting at birth, we will have the runes tattooed on our bodies. For babies newly born, they will immediately have theirs done on their right shoulder." Village Chief Taran stated.

"Interesting. Would you mind if I have a record on how where the tattoos are placed on your bodies? If that is too much then I will not impose." Levin Cloud asked.

"If it is to better understand our culture then we have no problem sharing as this is a practice all of our people do. Other tribes will have different runes etched onto their bodies, but they should roughly stay the same. Still, I thought that all of you were here to learn the legend of the northern people." Village Chief Taran stated.

"Yes. Apologies as he is very interested in your ways. Please proceed with the story if you will." Peridot stated.

"Alright then. Please listen carefully as my old bones could barely have me sitting in the same position for a long time." Village Chief Taran stated.

"Do you mind if you tell us your age?" Peridot asked as she was curious on what Village Chief Taran’s age is because she looks quite good for a middle-aged looking woman.

"I actually do not know what my real age is by now as the people of the north do not really celebrate the day we are born. If I am to say, then I have already done forty Solar Meltings." Village Chief Taran stated which actually shocked Frey as she knows what that meant.

"Care you explain, bestie?" Peridot asked Frey.

"In the northern continent, one Solar Melting is equivalent to two and a half years as that is the only time when the sun actually melts most of the snow. If we go by that count, then Village Chief Taran would be about ninety years old now." Frey stated in disbelief.

"Oh! That means you are still young then." Peridot stated but Village Chief Taran laughed at the compliment.

"Thank you for the compliment, beautiful visitor. Still, I am already middle aged when it comes to our tribe. I am no longer as young as you think I am." Village Chief Taran stated.

"If you think it as a compliment then you are welcome but that is actually quite young for my standards. Oh! Apologies as I am now using the standards of Ryujin to normal people. I have been around them for quite some time that I automatically think that we age similarly." Peridot stated as her standards for age in the game is the Ryujin age.

"She is quite young then. Our wood elf leader here is actually just in her teenage years. She is 138 years old, right?" Levin Cloud stated as his standard for age are elves and Faekin.

"I am almost an adult, Envoy Levin Cloud. Please do not tease me like that." The wood elf leader stated in protest.

Frey could not believe what she heard as the friends she brought have skewed sense in age in the game. Then again, she did not walk in their shoes, so she did not judge them. She could not believe it which is why she sent a direct message to Adrian to check with him as well.

"Ninety years old? That is quite young, right?" Adrian replied.

"I forgot that I am with people around long-lived races. The fact that they integrated even their sense of time is very intriguing." Frey thought as she immediately settled the confusion.

"Uhm… Village Chief Taran is actually old when we measure her age in a human sense. Normal humans typically live up to a hundred n Pandemonium." Frey stated.

"Is that so?! Who knew!" Levin Cloud and Peridot stated in unison which could only make Frey sigh as if she was exhausted.

"Anyways, never thought that the elves look this young despite the age. I guess the legends about the elves in our stories might be true. Anyways, let us proceed to the Legend of our origins." Village Chief Taran stated as she proceeded to tell the story.

Long ago, the people that were seafarers and those who were outcasts were sent to the northern continent to exile. They said that they were sent here because the world has collapsed back then. The lands erupted and fractured which created small islands where people were trapped. The lands further south was full of harsh monsters and heat filled areas that people had no choice but to go north.

The fractured islands where they were at the time did not have much food. This prompted all of them to explore further north where the promise of a beautiful lands was told in legends. All of them headed north as going south was not an option because of the situation it is back then.

The people that wanted to escape the intense heat and monster filled area came to the northern continent. The land itself was cool and was only covered lightly in snow compared to what it was before. Still, the cold land was not safe and easily livable compared to what they believed.

The cold land hid the dangers in the depths where the snow was the thickest. There were fierce monsters that would hunt them down when those enemies were hungry. If they were not being hunted down by monsters, then they would succumb to sicknesses that the do not know about.

The sicknesses were not the end as each year will be colder than the one before. This continued on until the people were dying from the cold weather. The weather that they liked initially suddenly became the bane of their existence as the world changed over the coming years.

The northern people could not even venture back out to the seas and oceans as even those have frozen over. Crossing the frozen seas and oceans is also a death sentence because monsters roamed them and some even called it their home. The people could only accept that they were trapped in the paradise that they thought would be their new home.

Almost all of the people had given up and accepted their deaths until a young girl that was born with icy blue eyes and platinum grey hair called upon a divine being. The innocent girl’s plea for help attracted this divine being and she wished for the people she lives with to have the ability to live in the cold. The divine being that came in the form of a powerful snowstorm asked the girl why she would use her wish to save the many.

The girl then answered that she would not have survived in this harsh continent if the others did not sacrifice for her. The elders barely ate so that the children could eat their fill. Even the young adults had to throw themselves in the face of danger against monsters in order to protect themselves. Hearing the story of the young girl, the divine being accepted the girl’s wish and created a spring of ice water.

"Any who drinks from this spring will no longer fear the cold but be embraced by it. It will also grant you powerful bodies to fend off any danger. As long as your kind lives in the north, then the ice and snow will be your family." The divine being told everyone as he vanished.

In the end, all of the villagers that were still alive had drank from the spring until it became dried. The young girl that called upon the divine being has also been crowned as the Great Mother and been called Winter.
