"You are injured! Did something happen? I saw a disturbance in the forest earlier, but it was so far that I did not dare to check." Peridot stated as she saw layers of frost on Levin Cloud’s small branches.

"I was attacked by beings that I could not detect inside the forest. I do not even know if they are undead, a non-living entity, or beings that could hide from my detection of life force. I did feel the natural energy of an elemental though. Are there any elementals that live near here?" Levin Cloud asked.

"There are no notable elementals in this area or at least powerful enough to make you retreat. In fact, the northern continent is a place where elementals are very scarce as no normal elemental can live here. A Frost Elemental is already a higher tier elemental since it uses the ice element, and they cannot be found here." Frey stated.

"I clearly felt the energy of an elemental from the ones that attacked me. Although, the one or ones that attacked me only used ice arrows that contain a powerful freezing ability. If it was a frost elemental, then they would have just used a powerful ice storm to deal with me." Levin Cloud stated.

"Maybe you were attacked by Frost Elves, Envoy Levin Cloud." The wood elf stated which made Levin Cloud look at her with a dumbfounded expression.

"The Frost Elves have all been killed because of the taboo that they did. The Winter Tree itself carried out punishment and called upon the high elves to deal with them. Even if some did survive the punishment, they cannot devour elementals anymore as they were cursed to have a presence that elementals hate. Elementals would already sense them a hundred meters away before they come or at least that is what is told in the history books." Levin Cloud stated. Discover more stories at novelbuddy

Levin Cloud is actually the most learned individual when it comes to all kinds of elves. This is the baseline knowledge that he must possess as the Envoy of the Twin Gods. Also, he was very devoted to being elf before he became a Leshy that he read anything that has elven lore in it.

"Still, what if some of them did manage to survive? What if they found a way to alleviate their cursed bodies from the effects of devouring the Frost Elemental King? Stories like this is actually proven to be quite true when it comes to the eastern continent. Maybe the stories in the northern continent are not as farfetched as we think it is." Peridot stated.

"What did the Frost Elves do in these stories from the northern people’s perspective?" Levin Cloud asked.

"They would capture the northern people and devour them. There are a lot of iterations of the stories, but they always end up having the captured people be killed and devoured unless a hero saves them." Frey added.

"You said that the people in the northern continent are different, right?" Levin Cloud asked Frey.

"Yes. The constitution of the bodies of the people in the northern continent are different. They eat less and could absorb the nutrients of their food better which is why they tend to eat less. They can refill their body’s energy quota with half a meal’s worth for the normal man." Frey stated which made Levin Cloud suddenly go silent as he transformed back to his humanoid form.

"You thought of something?" Peridot asked.

"I did but I do not know if it is true. We would need to test my theory by calling upon an elemental." Levin Cloud stated.

"Uhm… clearly the stories are just exaggerations, right? Envoy Levin Cloud?" The wood elf stated as she suddenly felt that her lighthearted stories are now being talked about as if they are indeed true.

"We have you and elves here. You can test that theory already by calling upon an elemental." Peridot stated as she knows that elves have special spells that could temporarily summon elementals to help them.

"Actually, I cannot summon elementals because they hate me. I might have offended some elemental kings back in Alfheim and banned all elementals to be summoned by me." Levin Cloud stated as he looked away while coughing.

"What about the wood elves then?" Peridot asked as she looked at the group of wood elves.

"The Church of the Twin Gods actually forbids us from summoning elementals unless we are out of the provisionary rank. All of us here are basic priests and we have yet to get the education to summon them. We volunteered for this because it gives us outside training while being supervised by Envoy Levin Cloud. Also, even if we do know how to summon them… Envoy Levin Cloud’s presence would lead them to not answer us." The wood elf stated as she was the most knowledgeable among the priests with them.

"Uhm… I do not want to but…" Frey stated but she suddenly started to think that saying it would be not good.

"You can give your suggestion here as anything to confirm it will be good." Peridot stated.

"We do have guild members that are half elementals, right? I was thinking that we can call Vayu and Soleil if they are not busy." Frey stated which made Peridot and Levin Cloud look at each other.

"Why did we not think of that?" Both Levin Cloud and Peridot had the same thought.

"We can just wait until we can summon an elemental if they are unavailable. I am sure that Levin Cloud’s ban is only for a certain duration, right?" Frey stated as she looked at Levin Cloud, but the latter immediately avoided her gaze.

"Actually, I have been banned indefinitely." Levin Cloud murmured in a soft voice.

"What was that?" Peridot asked but she managed to hear it because of her enhanced hearing.

"Summoning them is out of the question. Also, the natural energy here in the northern continent is not good to summon an elemental. The natural energy in this continent is somewhat in an awkward state. The only places that have stable natural energy are the villages that are protected by the Vanir Gods." Levin Cloud stated.

"And that would be a problem because?" Peridot asked.

"We need pure natural energy to summon an elemental for the first time. Also, in order to test out my theory… we would need the rank of at least a High Elemental." Levin Cloud stated.

"If that is the case then Vayu and Soleil are really our only hope." Peridot stated.

"Can I ask why you need a High Elemental for?" Frey asked as she did not know why they need an elemental that has that kind of power level.

"Oh! I forgot that I have yet to say why we need an elemental that powerful. Basically, my theory is due to the fact that the people of the northern continent being slightly different from people in the central continent for example. We would need the High Elemental to check the blood of the northern people." Levin Cloud stated.

"Blood? Why do we need to do that?" Peridot asked.

"My theory is that the blood of the Frost Elemental King runs on the bodies of the northern people." Levin Cloud stated which shocked all of those that heard his statements.

"How did you come out with that outrageous statement? Sorry if that is a bit harsh but even, I think that is a very wild theory." Frey stated in shock.in

"I mean… I only took the very instances told in the stories about the Frost Elves eating the people in the northern continent and the special physique of the people living here in the north. All signs point to the fact that they may have the blood of the Frost Elemental King in their veins. You can think of it as elves having the blood of us Faekin." Levin Cloud stated.

Even if Frey wanted to say that is not the case, she could only attribute the adaptation and evolution of the northern people to a small degree. They do say that people living in harsh conditions evolve to suit the environment they are, but the northern people defy this. Usually, people that live in harsh conditions like the cold would need to eat more in order to sustain heat in their bodies, but the northern people are the opposite.

"Actually, there is a very old legend that has been kept a secret by the northern people. The story of our origin that only the village elders can tell." One of the warriors stated as he has heard of this legend from their village elder.

"Ok then. We will talk with the village elder about the story and then move to the other villages to restore their lands." Frey stated.

"I already asked Vayu and Soleil about their availability. They said that they can go to the northern continent castle of the Ice Queen in three days. We can meet them there to verify the claim." Peridot stated as all of them walked towards the village chief’s house.
