In her mind she thought, This lion is very cute, but why is he so stubborn?

Before she could, Hu Baiyu slowly shook his head.

Then his large hand lifted and he signed carefully to her.

He pointed at the ground. Then at her. Then at himself. Then he lightly curled his fingers toward his chest and shook his head again.

The meaning was simple. He wanted to stay with her.

Lin Huahua froze. Then she blinked. Then, just like that, a little pink quietly climbed up her cheeks.

This lion really was too much. He could not speak, yet somehow every time he signed something, it went straight for her weak spot.

Lin Huahua felt her ears getting hot and immediately tried to fix her expression. She tried to look casual. She tried to look like she did not care. She tried to look cool and relaxed and totally unaffected.

Hu Baiyu saw the blush on her face and his lion eyes widened slightly.

This was the first time he had seen her blush like this. Because of him. The thought made a warm light rise in his chest so quickly that even his tail tip moved.

He had made her blush. Did that mean she liked hearing that?

Hu Baiyu’s heart started pounding heavily, but because of his quiet nature, he did not become bold. He only looked at her more softly, as if he had suddenly been given something precious and was afraid to touch it too hard.

Lin Huahua cleared her throat and looked away first. "Fine, fine," she said, trying to sound careless, even though the red on her cheeks was betraying her badly. "You can stay here if you want. I just want to have my bath."

Huahua paused. Her bath. Right. Her eyes slowly moved around the cave. Then to the stone floor. Then to the fire. Then to the hides. Then back to the fire again.

There was no shower. No bathroom light. No neat silver faucet. No warm tiled room. No advanced sci-fi anything. This was a Stone Age beast world.

Lin Huahua’s face changed at once. For a moment she looked like someone who had just remembered she had been thrown into a school exam without a pen.

Then she quickly called out in her head, "System!"

A little glow appeared in her mind, and the tiny fairy-like system floated out with a face that already looked tired of her.

"User Princess," the system said in its small voice, sounding as though it had repeated this speech a hundred times before, "I have already told you many times that even though I am a system, I am not allowed to give you cheat codes. You should think for yourself. That way you can impress your father and convince him to let you return to our world."

Lin Huahua’s eyes narrowed immediately.

"So you are siding with them now?" she asked in her head with a dangerous sweetness.

The system folded its tiny arms. Lin Huahua continued in an offended voice, "Do not worry. When I finally contact my father, I am going to ask him to delete you and replace you with one that is actually useful."

The little fairy system snorted so softly it was almost cute. "Yeah, we will see about that."

Then, like a tiny shameless cloud, it disappeared.

Lin Huahua nearly exploded. "You will have words with me later!" she hissed in her mind, glaring at the empty air.

Then she stood there in real life, quietly furious, her pretty little face scrunched up while she thought about what to do next.

Who in the entire universe has a system that is simply for decoration. Pa should have just sent me without one instead.

Lin Huahua pouted as she looked around again. How was she supposed to bathe here?

Boil herself like soup? Dig a hole?

Roll in a river? Before Lin Huahua could decide whether to glare at the fire or glare at the sky, a shadow stepped closer. She looked up.

Hu Baiyu was now standing right in front of her. The white lion lowered his eyes, then slowly signed to her, his hands moving in a steady way that was easy for her to understand.
