Noble Pampering: Demon CEO's Relentless Entanglement-Chapter 783 - 779: Dare to Touch Her? (Part 2)
Irene Morton’s face was as white as paper, feeling like she was about to suffocate from excessive lack of oxygen.
"Robert Williams!" Luke Land shouted, calling Robert in from outside the office, "Hurry and take Irene to the hospital!"
Robert responded, picked up Irene in his arms, and hurriedly walked out.
"I say, little brother, can you not act so impulsively in the future, okay?" Luke Land said seriously, "You almost really killed Irene just now, do you know that?"
"Do you think I would really strangle her?" Asher Land curled his lips into a self-mocking smile, "I’m not that heartless and ruthless."
Over the past four years, he was well aware of Irene’s kindness towards him.
But in his heart, Sophie Smith was a no-go zone for anyone, an untouchable line, yet Irene kept crossing it again and again.
"Don’t tell me you treated her like that just for fun," Luke Land said irritably. Did he know they almost got into a deadly situation just now?
"I was just giving her a little lesson, hoping she’d be more obedient next time."
"A lesson?" Luke Land chuckled twice, "Then tell me why you wanted to teach her a lesson? Was it for Sophie?"
Asher Land remained silent.
"Little brother, if I were Irene, I would definitely be angry too," Luke Land said, trying to stand from a fair perspective, "Irene has always been by your side, her motives are obvious. Ever since she was young, she has practically stood by your side, taking the blows for you, shielding bullets for you, begging on her knees when the old man wants to punish you, hasn’t she been good enough to you? And you give her this kind of lesson?"
"Shut up!" Asher Land didn’t want to hear anymore. He sat down in the leather chair and turned it around, his back facing Luke Land.
"Ha, what’s the matter? Don’t want to listen? Did I hit the nail on the head, and you’re feeling guilty?" Luke Land didn’t know why he was acting crazy; maybe it was because seeing Irene’s near-death state just now triggered his compassion.
"Her kindness and feelings for you are no less than Sophie’s, you know?"
"Luke Land, I’ll say it again, shut the fuck up!" Asher Land stood up, slamming a hand on the table, sweeping the coffee cup onto the ground.
"Fine, I won’t say anymore..." Luke Land shrugged indifferently, "I’ll leave now."
Luke Land turned and walked out of the office, slamming the door shut.
He had never argued or fought with Asher Land before, damn it, what kind of spell was he under this time to speak up for that silly girl Irene? And end up in a stalemate with Asher Land?
A sudden wave of intense pain surged up from his heart. He supported himself with one hand on the office desk, his other hand rummaging shakily through the drawer.
His chief doctor had once suggested that he should stay calm and not get angry, as it was beneficial for his recovery.
Ha, stay calm? Not get angry?
For him, it was as difficult as climbing to the sky.
After searching for a while, he finally found the pill bottle. He skillfully poured a few pills from various bottles into his mouth and swallowed them dry.
It seemed to take a very long time before his body started to recover a bit.
The secretary walked in, saw the shattered coffee cup pieces all over the floor, not knowing what had happened.
"President Land..." she said timidly from the side.
"Clean up and get out." Asher Land stood with his hands behind his back in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, his shadow desolate. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
The secretary didn’t dare to say anything more, quickly cleaned up the shards, and fled from the suffocating office.
