Noble Pampering: Demon CEO's Relentless Entanglement-Chapter 682 - 678 Back to His Side (Part 1)
Sophie Smith hung her head dejectedly, pretending that Nolan Davis was just joking with her earlier.
After breakfast in the morning, Asher Land called.
The call was brief; he merely said he was coming to the Davis Family estate to pick her up.
Her face betrayed undeniable excitement and anticipation, which Nolan Davis noticed, causing a sharp pain in his heart.
After finishing the call, Sophie snapped back to reality, and when she met Nolan Davis’s gaze, she instinctively curbed her smile.
"Pack up, we’ll head back soon." With these cold words, Nolan Davis turned and left the room.
On the way back to the Davis Family, he didn’t utter a single word.
In front of the Davis Family villa, a grand row of vehicles was parked.
Sophie was taken aback; what on earth was Asher Land up to, was all this really necessary?
"Third Young Master Land, you sure came early," Nolan Davis said as he stepped out of the car, glancing at the row of vehicles and then slightly curling his lips.
Asher Land’s expression was not pleasant because he had learned from Eva Miller that Nolan Davis had taken Sophie out alone yesterday, and they hadn’t returned all night.
Seeing Asher Land staring at her, Sophie had no idea what he meant.
"Mr. Davis, thank you for taking care of Sophie during this time," Asher Land said slowly.
"These things I did willingly for Little Sophie. To tell the truth, if Sophie were willing, I’d want to take care of her for a lifetime."
A lifetime?
"Heh, Mr. Davis, no need, my woman, Asher Land’s woman, doesn’t need another man to take care of her."
Asher Land seemed unwilling to linger here, "Go and bring Alexander down."
He said to a maid beside him.
"I’ll go," Sophie, unwilling to be caught between the two men any longer, turned and fled.
Nolan Davis shook his head helplessly, it seemed like she too was eager to leave with her son. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Sophie dawdled in bringing Alexander out, while the two men stood in front of the square, locked in a silent standoff.
"Let’s go," Asher Land said, opening the car door for Sophie.
Before getting in the car, Sophie glanced at Nolan Davis, whose eyes were filled with loss and disappointment. Finally, he lowered his head slightly, suppressing the emotions in his eyes.
I’m sorry.
Sophie repeated silently to herself again and again.
Although he couldn’t feel this apology now, she hoped that one day in the future, he would understand her.
Love is a mutual willingness, not a one-sided effort.
She knew Nolan Davis treated her well, and she felt guilty, but that didn’t mean she could give up returning to Asher Land because of it.
The fleet gradually moved away until it disappeared from his sight.
He stood tall, remaining rooted in place for a long time.
"Mr. Davis..." Amanda approached softly, hesitating to speak.
"Don’t talk to me." He furrowed his brow, his hands clenched into fists, and his body trembled.
The resolution he once had, to keep her by his side, was finally shattered. He didn’t resist; he handed Sophie back to Asher Land, something that was never his usual way of handling things.
However, after spending significant time with her, many feelings within him had been smoothed out by her presence. He couldn’t deny that she had taught him a lot.
For instance, because of her, he understood love can’t be forced.
Additionally, because of her, he learned how to let someone be happy.
Love is definitely not selfish possession.
